Chapter 28: first condition PT 1

Eiji's mind was processing what had happened moments ago. He wouldn't dare say that he wasn't even a little bit nervous.

His father seemed more different with each passing day, and that couldn't be a good thing.

"Why didn't you want to kill Eiji-ni?" Kakashi was thinking a lot about it. Eiji felt that if he were close to this guy, he would never have a bad or boring time. It was impossible not to like this kind of person.

"It took more than two weeks after the agreement. What happened?"

A voice came from behind Guy and answered for him. "After a conversation with Sakumo, I realized I was being naive. So I decided to teach Guy everything I knew, even my techniques."

A man in green spandex revealed himself with a fervent smile.

Eiji was shocked by this. 'It shouldn't have happened yet... It will change a lot of things!' Eiji's mind began to work at breakneck speed.

Spreading his random ideas, Eiji focused mainly on Guy. "First of all, for us to teach you, you'll have to agree to some things."

Guy didn't seem to mind, while Dai looked solemn. "What would that be?" And at some point, Sakumo appeared sitting on his porch just watching the situation unfold.

"First of all, Guy must leave the ninja academy," Eiji brought up the most important issue.

"Why should he leave?" Dai frowned at this. Anyone knew that leaving the Ninja Academy was the same as giving up on being a ninja.

"Why? He won't learn anything useful there. Everything he can learn there, we can teach him ten times better here. And most importantly, he'll just waste his time with all of it."

Eiji didn't stop and continued. "Why? You must be wondering, right? Even if Guy graduates and becomes a Genin, he won't achieve many results, and if he does, it will take more than 7 years, you know why?"

"..."

Kakashi had a certain idea, but he didn't dare comment, even when Kakashi despised Guy, his father said that if he didn't try hard enough, Guy would leave him behind. Guy and Dai just waited in silence.

"Because Guy shows no talent in any ninja art, even if his Taijutsu is decent. No one will teach him anything, he won't learn anything useful at the academy. He'll just waste his time daily. When he graduates, his teacher won't be anyone noteworthy. He won't teach him anything useful, time will pass, and his progress will stagnate for several years, and that's only for two reasons."

"First: you're not from any strong clan or family."

Dai trembled, and his eyes seemed to reflect guilt, but he realized that Eiji wasn't speaking ill of him and had no intention of humiliating him.

"Second: you show no progress in shurikenjutsu, ninjutsu, genjutsu. No one will pay attention and waste time training someone like that."

Guy seemed wounded by his merciless words. As if invisible arrows were piercing him.

"We'll help you with everything, you'll master all of them, even if it's just the basics in some. And for that, you must use all your time 7 days a week, 24 hours. Train all day without rest for at least 4 years."

'Is the minimum time we have before the war breaks out... probably?'

Eiji's eyes sharpened, and he said it with conviction. "And when that time passes, you'll show everyone that you're also a genius, A HARD-WORKING GENIUS!"

'Where does Ni-san and otou-san get so much confidence about someone who is so talentless and miserable?'

His brother used to be smarter and more insightful than him. Even if he were a friend and did something wrong, he was ruthless. It didn't seem to matter to anyone or anything.

'Why go so far for them?'

The techniques he created were all meant to kill and mutilate his opponents, some of which he hadn't even imagined possible. He didn't have any techniques he could use without literally destroying his opponent. Except for low-rank jutsus.

As someone who prepares so much to kill, why not want to kill something or someone? It's confusing!

Eiji returned the gaze. "It's not about wanting or not wanting to kill..." He thought about how to express himself and continued. "It's just a matter of knowing whether you can or cannot take a life. I can't take someone's life in cold blood TODAY." He wasn't ready for that.

If he did, Eiji feared he would become mentally and emotionally unstable like Kakashi in the series. Is it wrong? When you kill someone, you change. You even cease to be yourself.

What will he become when he kills someone? Will he become a killer and find pleasure in it? Will he break? Become someone else? Or will he be able to maintain sanity in this fucked-up world? Or will he simply not care? As if he had stepped on an ant.

What doesn't kill us makes us stranger.

There was nothing truer than that, and that's what Eiji feared most, ceasing to be himself.

"Tell me, Kakashi, how was it to kill that animal?"

Only the sound of two young men changing clothes in a room where the sun shone through the windows.

"..."

From beginning to end, Kakashi never answered.

Eiji coughed twice to break the dramatic atmosphere. "Let's go, they must be coming already."

"..."

"YO, KAKASHI-KUN, EIJI-KUN. I see you two are burning with YOUTH!" A strong and energetic voice reached the brothers' ears. Even though he was over 50 meters away, he could still be heard loud and clear.

"..."

"Yo Guy, we're good. How about you?"

"OEEE KAKASHI! DON'T IGNORE ME! YOUR ETERNAL RIVAL HAS ARRIVED WITH THE FLAME OF YOUTH!"

"THANKS FOR RECEIVING US, EIJI-KUN. I SEE THE YOUTH BURNING IN YOU TOO!" Fire sprouted from Guy's eyes amid his contagious excitement.

"YOOOOSHAAAAAAAA"
