Chapter 36: Green
Bella woke up, her vision's blurry. She tries to focus and slowly she regains her sight.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" Dean asked sweetly. Adelle touched her hand who was on her left.
Bella's sight seems to be much better? She can see every minor detail on her face, even the small pores on her nose. She looked at the ceiling, she could see a tiny insect beside the light bulb.
Adelle looked at Dean who's nervously waiting for a response. "Bessy, how are you? If you don't speak, Dean might bring you to the hospital."
"Sorry I was a bit distracted, I'm fine." She smiled and held Dean's hand. He stopped trembling.
Looking at their worried faces, "Wait, how long did I sleep?"
"Four days baby."
"I'm sorry…."
"Don't be, Grandma told us about the stones but we were still worried."
"How do you feel?"
"I feel superb."
"Please check your space later, you need to eat. Also, everybody's worried so you should show your face first." Adelle winked. Dean kissed her forehead and went out of the room. She helped Bella bathe after they went to the dining area where the adults were waiting.
They're happy to see her. Bella felt their genuine enthusiasm. It's like a scene where she visits the In-laws. Bella slaps her cheeks lightly! WTH! 'I'm thinking about my In-laws….' Her face turned red. I startled Dean when she slapped her face but calmed down when she waved that she's fine.
Not everybody was enjoying this moment. In the kitchen, a maid's hands were clutching stiffly. Her eyes are red from anger, looking at the scene. She had enough of this. After that night, they sent her to another villa outside the city. Her workload tripled but couldn't lament. Also, her colleagues treated her badly, but nobody believed. She had worked with them for more than sevens years so it was only a light punishment. It was only lifted when the villa lacked manpower these past weeks.
She's so happy, dreaming of being close to Dean. It looks like he doesn't loathe women anymore, so she can't wait to remove Bella from this house and replace her….
Bella called her Uncle Belden and went to the warehouses with Adelle. Eight mobile houses were delivered last night. The company took advantage of the night when there's less traffic. They needed space for construction, so they contacted Adelle in advance. Since she was still asleep and had no program for deliveries, she approved.
After that, they ate dinner at a restaurant and went home. Bella explored her space with Adelle, so they went in together. They were utterly speechless with what they saw….
It's green everywhere!!!! The grass that she planted in some spots is all over the place. The rabbits are happily munching them. She can see the pig grass that is knee-high! There are flowers blooming along the river. The trees grew and now have fruits hanging from the branches. The vineyard has grapes and the herbs are lush. Adelle jumps around laughing.
Then she stopped when Bella pointed, Adelle's jaw dropped when she saw….mountains!!!!! Lots of them!!!! From the northeast, then on the side where the river divides, southeast behind them. Bella concentrated, and she gasped while her eyes were closed.
She can see thirty gigantic mountains filled with trees. The river also extended between these mountains! Her field also extended on both sides, but more on the eastern and southern parts before reaching the foot of the mountain. It's like a different world inside.
The enormous wall of the waterfall extended to the southwest up to the foot of a mountain, mixed with soil, rocks, grasses while the northwest part is still blurry.
She walked to the vineyard and pulled some large grapes; she noticed another bud appear! She's so astonished, she pulled others. The same thing happened! Does this mean unlimited grapes?! In a daze, she touched the bud…... Under the naked eye, the grapevine grew to produce other ripe grapes….Tears fell on her face….Adelle embraced her, they will never go hungry! Adelle picked a vine of grapes, but it didn't produce a bud. Bella touched the stalk where she pulled them. It grew again!!!!
Then moved to the peach tree; she took the fruits, buds, and grew into flowers. Then she touched the tree, flowers became fruits and stopped when it's ripe. The unpicked remain ripped. Her theory is that they won't rot even if she left them there. Her hand was still on the tree when she felt something strange.
She closed her eyes, somehow felt a connection in every tree, plant, rock, water, and soil inside the space. Under Adelle's eyes, the trees and plants grew taller, the vines crawled on the rocks and fences, flowers bloomed, more leaves grew everywhere. Adelle couldn't believe her eyes! Bella looked at a much greener environment. She took Adelle's hand, and they headed to the waterfall. On the side, they could see a rocky staircase. They climbed it until they reached the top.
Both of them are astonished by the scene. In front of them is a clear spring shaped like a bowl. In the center, there's an islet with eight buds of tulip flowers shining rainbow colors. On the west side, there's a large tree with a humongous trunk. On the east is where the waterfalls. They went behind the tree, but it still has a blurry barrier. The same goes for the south, but they weren't disappointed. They drank the water and moved back to the river.
Flowers and leaves swayed from the wind blowing from the east...OMO! There's wind! Although they can breathe inside, the temperature and weather don't change. So feeling the wind blowing is another surprise. Bella noticed another thing, she can feel the wind, like she can hold it with her hands. She closed her eyes and tried to catch it, when she opened her eyes, there was a small tornado in her palm!
It stunned Adelle, she held her mouth with both hands. Bella had a bold idea, she tried redirecting the flow of wind from west to east.
"Wooooshhhh!" She did it! She tried it from north to south.
"Wooooshhhh! Bella jumped and Adelle too when she explained what she did. While they were jumping, she noticed the rabbits were chubby? She transferred on the other side with Adelle and came near the large fenced pen.
Omo!!!! They're huge!!!! She ran to the chickens, it's the same….and there are so many eggs….
She looked up and thanked God for these blessings, then they collected the eggs and placed them in the hatching shed. Now that she has more space, she'll save more animals she could find. She doesn't know if they could survive without eating just like the time she fainted for a week, so if these eggs hatched chicks, she plans to spread the wild chickens all over the mountain. Also, rabbits and other wild animals.
The fish, crabs, prawns, shrimps, clams grew abnormally huge. The ponds seemed crowded, so she threw some of every species in the river. She wants to extend the pond area to accommodate more aquatic animals that are best for eating. Then another larger pond in one of the fenced areas for the ducks, geese, turkeys, etc. And she also needs snails and worms to feed them.
She noticed the two fish in the river, they're huge like her arm! 'Wait? Is it the water?'
She filled twenty bottles, five buckets, and plans to give them to Dean tomorrow for testing. She's aware it's something good, but she wants to know more about its effects.
Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard a splash. Adelle dove directly at the river. Bella also followed, and they played for a while. After that, they went out of the space to change.
"Bella!" , "!!!!!!"
All of Adelle's scars vanished! They looked closer and inspected every inch of her body. Her skin is smoother like a baby and a bit fairer. The healing effects also increased. Excited to know its improvement, they couldn't sleep, so they went back inside, drank water, and started digging the ponds using the mini excavator. Adelle used the mini tractor and harvested the rice. She placed the stalks in the shed for the animal barns.
After that, Bella removed the improvised kitchen, living, and bedroom. She only left an "L" shaped sofa and a coffee table on top of the palette floor. She placed two mobile houses near the waterfalls. She connected the drainage to her improvised sewage container aside from the toilet since it's a compost type.
The sun is already up when they left the space, but they're still full of energy. Bella also noticed her skin's smoother, her hair's lighter and softer.
They practiced their usual routine. Adelle took a thermos of space water and drove straight to the pharmacy while Bella went to the warehouse for the deliveries of gasoline, solar batteries, fences, custom pre-built barns, etc.
Then she rented a smaller truck and went to the market. She bought birds of different species, shop around, and put them all in space. Although she could catch them, buying could save time.
An idea also pops in her head. It was noon when the sky turned red on the day of the apocalypse. Maybe she could come here a little early and stea 'ehem' save all the birds and other animals, thinking nobody would care. She made a mental note and returned to the truck.
After their training, Bella gave the bottles and buckets of water to Dean. He immediately drank a mouthful, he felt refreshed and stronger right away. During dinner, Dean serves his family. The teens didn't notice any change because they were busy chatting, but the adults felt it. Grandpa Tang held his tears, slowly, his back straightened. Grandma Dy is also the same. They couldn't speak, but Bella saw through their eyes they're thankful. She only smiled and nodded.
After dinner, Dean convinced them to stay so he could help Bella assemble the barns. When his uncles found out, they also volunteered. When his Aunts heard it, all of them joined. They headed to the study room for the family meeting and Grandpa Tang gave Butler Bo a glass of space water. Words aren't needed between them.
He trusted him with his life, so when he sensed something in his body, he just nodded and guarded the door. His heart will forever be loyal to serve the general, so he will bury all their secrets with him….
