Chapter 3: Lies Everywhere

Ribius's P.O.V

Why are truths lies and lies are truths?

All of them are lies.

Every single book I've read had to have hundreds of lies. First of all, king Evelion of the Kingdom of Evertine didn't commit suicide, he was killed. He would never kill himself without leaving an heir as he didn't get married because he loved his kingdom and wouldn't leave them.

Secondly, he never killed or tortured his soldiers, as everyone said he did. The same exact soldiers are the ones who betrayed the king and killed him. The reason why the kingdom of Sever didn't take over Evertine was because its people knew the truth. They could always reveal it but they didn't.

Soon after, the citizens of Evertine died of extreme starvation and poverty since they didn't have a ruler. Sever marked Evertine as a part of their kingdom. That ended the forgotten tragedy and past of Evertine. But it didn't stop. The lies, that is.

Again, another story based on rumors and unknown truth.

The 6th concubine of Emperor Xin Hao was framed for attempting to poison the empress and was executed. However, the truth was anything but that. They didn't even inspect the cup that the empress drank from. That was because she ordered them not to. Why, you ask? Because there was no poison in the cup in the first place.

The empress had framed the 6th concubine herself because the 6th concubine saw what she wasn't supposed to. The empress was caught cheating with another man, so in order to stay as the empress but also be with her lover, she framed the 6th concubine and all went according to her plan as the 6th concubine was executed.

But after she was executed, the empress's lover had dumped her. She then killed emperor Xin Hao and herself.

Although that was the original story, the one that was revealed to the public was much different. And every person who knew of what actually happened was killed.

Still, a liar never ceases to make more lies. Lies that always cost people's lives. Lies that always lead to injustice. But what's the point of trying to reveal the truth? If someone did try to, they would definitely fail. That's what injustice is. The liar would come up with more lies and the person who tries to bring justice out, will be killed.

But why did the black knight of Neresole kill the loyal chancellor?

Because of how disloyal the chancellor was. The chancellor of Neresole was nothing short of a scum. He was a spy. He would sell every piece of valuable information to unknown people, such as detailed blueprints of every part of Neresole, including every possible entrance, their current country finances, and even the amount of knights that were currently around the country.

'He disappeared after committing his crime and was never to be found again.' What a load of bullcrap. He didn't disappear but was executed. Believe it or not, nobody hesitated in burning the black knight's family alive. They didn't even investigate and try to find out why he had done that.

Then how about the massacre of Sivilia?

Why did hundreds of soldiers attack the village of Sivilia one peaceful and eventless night? Because the king of Quavar, king Zeldis ordered them to do so. He had found out that the long lost treasure of the Ancient Quavs was to be found at the village of Sivilia.

The Vandestry.

What is the Vandestry? No one knows. The only person with such knowledge had died thousands of years ago, and there's probably nobody after them who can inform an ignorant person about the Vandestry.

Even after king Zeldis's soldiers slaughtered every last living soul in Sivilia, they couldn't find the Vandestry. That was because the Vandestry wasn't there to begin with, and whoever informed the king that it was, was terribly wrong. But what use would it be to find out that the Vandestry wasn't there help with anything?

Sure, they found out that the Vandestry wasn't there, but dead people will never be revived.

There are many more told and written lies than this, but all those lies, which have been written in books, were scattered not only around the world, but in different timelines too. If king Zeldis of Quavar and king Sevelion of Sever were in the same time, they would both fight over the Vandestry, but that too would be useless, since the Vandestry never existed.

Even if the Vandestry existed, king Zeldis was born and died before king Sevelion and after king Zeldis died, the name of the Vandestry was forgotten as in respect of the king who tried to find his ancestors' lost treasure but failed.

That too, was a lie. The Vandestry doesn't belong to the ancient Quavs, but to the old Taris.

The Lephetaris are the original owners of the Vandestry but that was a myth. The truth is yet to be told.

I did say that the Vandestry never existed, but even I don't know that. All knowledge of the Vandestry has been demolished.

I believe that the Vandestry doesn't exist because it might cause more souls to be separated from their bodies.

I really hope it doesn't.

Even though I don't believe that the Vandestry exists, I know that the Lephetaris exist. But they were so old to the point where they died with no knowledge being spread about them. Whatever chance I get, I ask about the Lephertaris. And now is another chance, but only the inner part of myself knows the true answer to the question that's about to be asked.

"Hey Mister, do you perhaps happen to know anything about the Lephetaris?"

This was a very short chapter but I tried really hard on this and it took me several hours to write this. These are some flowing questions.

What is the Vandestry?

Wasn't it mentioned in the 2nd chapter by Angyar?

How does Ribius know all of this info?

What is the story that was revealed to the public about the framed 6th concubine?

What about the history of the Lephetaris?

Why did king Zeldis look for the Vandestry even though it wasn't his?

How about king Evelion and king Sevelion being brothers?
