Chapter 3: The Kind Assassin

The sun rosed up again and Yuki woke up. She stood up, walked out of the cave and went to a nearby river to bathe. When Yuki got there she took off her clothes then she stepped into the cool water. Yuki have already missed everything that she use to know, but this was a new point in her life and she was proud of it.
Suddenly Yuki felt uneasy for some weird reason. Luckily she was in her human form so the guards don't find her easily in her other forms. Yuki slowly turned around and saw him touch her clothes.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY CLOTHES YOU PERVERT!?" she screamed in complete fright.
He didn't say anything, walked off with her clothes in hand and only left the blanket she used to covered herself up. Once Yuki was out off the water, she went back to the cave and hid in the back of the cave. She was so mad about him taking her only pair of clothes.

After a few hours he came back with two bags in hand. He tossed one bag over to Yuki and didn't pay any attention about her being naked underneath the blanket. He only tended to the fire and brought out of the other bag a cloth that contain some medical herbs.
"While I go get some water, you stay here and get those clothes on," he said before leaving the cave.
Yuki didn't understand what he meant until she looked into the bag. A beautiful lavender dress was folded neatly in the bag. So, she got dressed and braided her hair to make it look nice. She thought something was missing so she went outside of the cave.
Her ankle swelled as she went to a nearby patch of flowers, sat down and started to make a beautiful flower crown. She didn't even notice him returning back to the cave with the water.
"You looked beautiful with just one flower in your hair," he said before placing a flower into Yuki's hair.
She looked at him before she was carried back inside the cave. He placed her onto the ground and started to apply the medical herbs onto Yuki's ankle gently. She was very grateful and happy that he was the first person who was ever nice to her outside the walls of the palace.
"Thank you for helping me and everything else," she said shyly, while looking at him.
He didn't look at her and continue to focus on applying the medicine on her ankle. He knew that she was thankful for him helping her, but didn't say anything about it. Once he was done he tried to restart the fire, but he tried not to look at her.
"So..., do you got a name kid?" he said when he put a log onto the fire.
"My name is not kid, my name is Yuki and I don't have a last name," Yuki said in polite voice trying not to be angry and she lied a little then she continued to speak, "So, what is your name and what do you do for a living?"
He looked at her before looking at the scabbard on his belt. "My name Ito Fenikkusu and I'm an assassin who got a job to kill Le Yuki of the Snow Kingdom."
Yuki was scared, but tried not to show it and said, "No one has ever seen her in person in the Snow Kingdom unless you're a servant of the Le family."
He smiled then he said, "I was hired by someone in the Stadia Kingdom to kill the princess of the Snow Kingdom that's all you don't have to worry. I won't kill you unless I'm paid to do it."
Yuki felt a little uneasy because she saw her killer right in front of her. She didn't know what to do, she just felt frozen in fear. After Fenikkusu was done with the fire, he went out of the cave and into the woods. Why was this man so kind to her, but he was sent to kill her?
Yuki seat there and thought, 'I shouldn't tell him that I'm princess Le Yuki or he'll kill me for sure. For now I should just keep this as a secret and just act like a normal maiden.'

It started to get dark when Fenikkusu came back to the cave with a dead carcass of deer meat in hand. He looked at her then he started to cook the meat on the fire.
"You know I'm not cold-hearted as I'm seem to be. You can trust me, but I know you're scared because you're talking to someone who kills people for a living. A lot of people like me tend to keep to themselves and care for no one except for themselves," he said, while making sure the meat didn't get burnt.
Soon the meat was done, Fenikkusu handed a piece of meat on a leaf to Yuki and she began to slowly eat the meat. He kept on looking at her, while he ate his share of meat. After they were done eating Yuki was starting to falling asleep and her head almost hit the ground, if it wasn't for Fenikkusu quick reflexes. He slowly lowered her head onto the ground, then he placed the same blanket Yuki used before and covered her up.
"Thank you... f- for your... kindness," Yuki said falling fast asleep.
Fenikkusu only looked at her for a second before sitting near the entrance of the cave. Then he remembered another man said, "Your kind lacks kindness and no one will ever care about you." Fenikkusu remembered killing that man, but this time something felt strange like he known where she wanted to go to. Yuki wanted to find out where the City of the Beastmen were and Fenikkusu was going with her.
