Chapter 60: A spar
Two weeks have past and there is unrest among the hero community as whispers of the league and the liberation army have been spreading. I've been training non stop to prepare for it as I know that shit hits the fan here. After shigaraki awakens I'm in the dark as my future knowledge ends there.
What I do know is that Rumi is going to get seriously injured by nomu so I asked her to spar. She grows during a fight and I've fought Nomu before so this should help her with a strategy or at least develop tactics against them.
You may ask why I'm worried? She's the 5th ranked hero and the strongest female hero in the country. Well it's cause she'll be fighting several sentient Nomu like the one that almost crippled endeavour. She may also end up fighting shigaraki so fighting me could help her come up with a strategy for his wife spread decay.
"So any reason you wanted to rumble now Sabaku?"
"Yup! I heard that there may be a big brawl and I know you'll want to go to the front lines so I figured you'd want experience against me".
She raised an eyebrow and her red eyes shimmered "oh and why's that? Your only a first year and your getting awfully cocky".
I chuckled "it's cause my quirk can make a similar effect to the league of villains leader's quirk. You'd probably want a little experience against that. Plus I can fight airborne and can tank your punishment".
She grinned maniacally " fair enough. I'll give you 10 minutes. If I win your my bitch for the night and if I lose I'm yours".
I cracked my knuckles and loosened my shoulders "your already my bitch" I said before she blurred and drove a kick through my abdomen. I turned to sand and applied pressure to clench her inside me. I know how that sounds but this is a fight.
I drove a punch towards her while she was trapped but she just did a spin kick and slammed her other leg into me. Again I turned to sand so she grabbed onto me and head butted. I used armament making my forehead blacken resulting in a loud *bong* noise to resound out.
Rumi must have felt like she head butted an iron bell, her forehead was bleeding due to the force she used. Maybe a skull fracture? That wouldn't stop her as she used the momentum of the hit to grab into the ground and use her powerful waste to uplift me and slam me into the ground.
I turned my whole body to sand to avoid the blow so she managed to escape. I quickly reformed and squatted down and used grand death to turn this field into a wasteland. We are fighting in a field in the back mountains near her house so we don't disturb anyone.
Realising my sand is spreading rapidly she stomps the ground and lifts off. She used geppo, in this universe she learned from Naomi who is pops wife. The backstory behind it is several people made martial arts for quirkless people to match quirks but they are so torturous to learn that they never spread. So only those with strong bodies or are crazy learn them.
We're both, she jumped into the air and stomped again to catapult towards me. She spun and used the momentum to fire of a rankyaku blade at me. I could see it's trajectory so I split myself where it would hit allowing it to pass through. She clicked her tongue and began using soru and geppo to blur around me.
Occasionally she'd fire of a rankyaku and I would use observation to see the trajectory. Then I'd either split or fire of a sand projectile.
After a few trades off that I decided to make it more interesting so I created wide spread sandstorms that obscured her vision. Then I used desert trails to jump and vanish with the sandstorm. Rumi realising what I was doing tried to use her heightened hearing to sus me out but the sand muffled the noise.
I appeared behind and made a swing fully intending on doing real damage. She felt danger thanks to her sharp instincts so stopped kicking the air to fall, narrowly avoiding the strike. She kicked off the air and used her soru, geppo hybrid to attack me again. She then began spinning midair and somehow wrapped a rankyaku beam around her self while shouting a new move name.
" Luna perforar!!" As the name suggests she made herself into an airborne drill. I fired a sandstorm to manoeuvre myself out of the way by abusing the recoil so I dodged with ease. She stopped spinning and dispelled the blade.
She jumped again using geppo and turned towards me. "I'm going all or nothing.... Luna Pique!!!" She screamed while using her six powers movement hybrid. I called mine dessert trails because I use sand to make a mini platform to jump off of but she just uses those impressive legs off hers to their full extent when she jumps.
She blurs around me at an even higher speed than before. Within the sandstorm she's darting around in every direction that she can to throw me off but I decide to fight dirty. A villain certainly will.
She rushes towards me and spins vertically downwards and yells another move "Luna Fall!!" As she slams her heal into me sending me hurtling to the ground. She smirks as she felt she won only to process that my body felt lighter than when she was being frisky with me.
She heard "sand fake" from behind her as I reformed from the sandstorm. She kicked a sand armour shell while I spread myself thin to lower her guard. I grabbed her in a chokehold that sent her into a panic. She performed her Luna pique to shake me off but it only made her waste more air as she slowly lost consciousness over the span of a minute.
In a last ditch effort she tried to slam me into the ground back first but I'd already turned the ground to sand earlier so if anything she dropped me on a cushion as she passed out.
"Good spar" I said as I kissed the cheek of the sleeping beauty l before getting up and fixing the environment. When she wakes up we'll fight again.
