Chapter 4: 4. Going to Pattaya
Sophia acknowledges, "Why are you looking at it as a business deal? Forget about Sam's father. You should concentrate on Sam only. You're going to share the rest of your life with him. Sam keeps saying that he likes you. I don't understand why you are so hesitant to marry him?
Sophia takes a long breath and asks Emma hesitatingly, "You don't have a boyfriend, do you? If you have someone in your heart, I will cancel this proposal,"
Emma mumbled,"No! I don't have anyone in my heart. If I have, I won't hesitate to say to you. I know you both will always think about my happiness only. You and uncle raised me as your own daughter. I am willing to marry anyone you select. The only problem is I don't know why my heart is hesitating to agree with this marriage."
Jack comes there and sits along with them and soothes, "My child! Why are you thinking of this marriage as a deal? In every marriage, money includes. But they didn't ask us dowry. They only said that Sam will stay in New York. It is not a big thing.Nowadays, most NRI marriages are being held like this."
Jack pats Emma's head and says with concern, "Maybe you have been hesitating because you never met him personally."
Emma thinks to tell all her hesitation. But stops as her uncle and aunt are happy with this alliance. So, she answers, " Maybe you're right."
Sophia states, "That's why we are going tomorrow to Pattaya. You have 7 days to know him better."
Emma asks, "What if I didn't like him even after 7 days?"
Jack jokes, "You can run away from the wedding. My full support will be on you."
Sophia says, "Jack! Don't joke like that. Emma, they are good people. I inquired through a friend, they say Sam is a good guy".
Though Emma's feelings are still turbulent about the marriage, she calms down as Jack and Sophia are praising Sam as a good person, well-mannered, and well-educated.

In Pattaya, Sean Sutalick goes into his house. He takes the Most Promising Entrepreneur in the World memento to Singto's old room. He places the memento near Singto's picture. He looks into those pictures and says sorrowfully, "Son! When are you going to excuse me? I know I did wrong by leaving you, Alex, and your mother. But I want to rectify my mistakes.". He prays to God that his son and his wife excuse him and speak to him as early as possible. He sleeps on Singto's childhood bed hoping that he will meet his wife and son in a beautiful dream.

Singto goes into his house. The house is dark as his mother and Alex are on the world tour trip. He switches on the lights. He never felt he needed a person to be taken care of him and cuddle him. But today he is thinking more about his soulmate.
'When am I going to meet my soulmate?'

In New York, Sophia asks Emma to get ready for shopping.
Emma refuses her. "Please leave me. I am not interested in going. Please shop for my things too."
Finally, Jack and Sophia go shopping as Emma is not willing to go. After they went, Emma looked at Sam's photo and said, "Are you my soulmate? Why is my heart not connecting with you? If you're not my soulmate, God! Where is my soulmate?"
While thinking about her soulmate, she goes into a deep sleep.

The next day at the airport, Emma takes an old picture from her purse and says, " I am coming to Pattaya to get to know you. Could I be able to find you?"
Sophia and Jack look at Emma worryingly because there is no happiness in her face.
Emma is looking devastated and still thinking whether she has to do this marriage or not? Her feet are trembling while stepping on the stairs of the flight . She is walking mechanically and sits on her designated seat.
The flight was about to take off and an announcement to put the seat belt. Emma is in her thoughts that will she be able to find her past? Will James really help her to find her past?Who is the man who shouted 'Emma,Emma' from fires?
While she was in her thoughts the air-hostess comes and requests her to put the seat belt. She comes out her thoughts and puts on the seat belt. She sighs and covers her eyes with eye masks and sleeps as it is a long journey.
After a long and exhausting ride, they land in Pattaya airport. Sam came to receive them. He takes them to his house.
Sam drives the car calmly and doesn't even utter a word in the whole journey from the airport to Sam's house.
James greets them cordially and he gives Emma a gold watch as a gift from father-in-law. Asit is their custom that the father in law has to give a gift when he sees his daughter-in-law for the first time. Emma puts that watch on her left wrist which is already having an old bracelet. James looks at her wrist and says, "daughter in law! Why don't take away that old bracelet? It is looking ugly with the gold watch."
Emma rubs her neck and says hesitatingly, " This bracelet is given by mom. I have never taken this bracelet from my wrist since my childhood."
James says," oh! It is okay then. There is no need to take away your bracelet."
Sophia and Jack feel happy that Emma's soon to be father in law is a good person and cares about Emma's sentiments.
After all the customs are finished Jack says, "We can't stay in the bridegroom's house before the marriage. We've booked rooms in a hotel."
As James gives value to the traditions, he agrees to Jack's words. Sam leaves them at the hotel and goes to his house.
