Chapter 3: Chapter 3: My Destiny

The chef came out of the kitchen with a warm smile on his face carrying Lawrence's and Celestina's breakfast. It was on a silver tray decorated with such perfection. The morning light had seeped through the windows and the smell of the breezes was just comforting for this day.

The food was laid down on the table. A table that was as long as an elephant and could fit at least twenty people to dine on it. They both stared at each other's breakfast while Celestina was mouth-watering due to crumpets and tea being her favorite, she was also curious about what Lawrence is having.

His breakfast was shaped like a rose with bright red petals on the top of a cupcake wrapper. It looked as if it was some kind of tart at first... Celestina's eyes peak with curiosity although Lawrence notices and responds to what he feels like is the question going to her head.

"This is a rose apple tart. I gave the recipe to the chef so that he would be able to make this for me." He responded to her showing her the confection in every angle.

The red color of the rose-shaped pastry reminded of her something. It was this rose that the main character gave to the girl he was in love with those romance novels she was reading. It was like when the boy gives the rose to the girl she felt so happy. Reminding her of love that the commoner experiences in their school life.

"Hey, Lawrence... I have a question." She turned to Lawrence in a serious expression.

"Wha.. what is it?" Lawrence asked caught off guard although still remaining with his calm and collected self.

"Have you ever fallen in love with anyone? Like at all."

"OF COURSE NOT I WOULD NEVER FALL IN LOVE!" Lawrence's face turned bright red and his deep voice turned into a high pitch scream. "WHY WOULD YOU SUDDENLY JUST ASK ME THAT!" He then stood up in a blushing rage.

"I.. um.. are you alright Lawrence?" Celestina asked Lawrence who was blushing as red as a tomato. Completely different from his usual monotone self catching Celestina off guard since this was the first time she has seen Lawrence blush and act like that.

"Oh. Sorry princess.." Lawrence covered his face in embarrassment. "I guess I was a bit flabbergasted by the sudden question that's all."

"Hahaha.." Celestina giggled a little. "I haven't seen you act like that in like ever. You were always frowning and always had a cool and calm collected personality to you but seeing you like this it's just surprising that's all."

"Anyways." Lawrence tries to shift the topic of the conversation away from him due to his embarrassment. "Why would you suddenly ask me that though princess?"

"Oh.. well." She looked deeply into the rose apple tart on Lawrence's hand. "I guess just looking at a rose just reminded me of this event they have called "Valentines day" where they give out roses and chocolates to the ones they love.."

"I see..." Lawrence went back to his dead self and proceeded to eat his tart while on the other hand Celestina fiddles with her food eating it slowly.. realizing that staying in the castle was something she didn't want to do. Well not forever at the very least.

"What's my schedule today Lawrence?" Celestina asked her attendant beside her who's enjoying the rose tart.

"From what I can see. It says here you have etiquette lessons and piano lessons today." Lawrence announces to her making her own self frown even more.

As she continued to eat her crumpets and tea.. something happened.. a floating blessing that's going to change her life forever... as the maids opened the windows to let morning breeze enter the room.

In the distance, a piece of paper flew across the wind it glided and glided until it reached the window.. and it so happens hit Celestina in the face. Celestina took off the paper from her face and finding out it wasn't just paper.. it was a flyer...

She read what the flyer was saying out loud. "Looking for exchange students to go to another country and study there for free..."

Lawrence takes the flyer from her hand and takes a look at it. "Oh, that must be a flyer from one of those people handing it out outside. I saw one of them looking for transfers in our kingdom."

"This... is.. what I need to happen in my life. I think this is my destiny." Celestina stood up straight and raised the paper.

"Your destiny is a piece of paper?" Lawrence asked in a puzzled manner.

"I believe that.. there was a reason that this piece of paper somehow landed on my face. Being that this castle is 100 feet tall and it so happens came to me when the windows were opened... I think it's not some sort of coincidence. It must be a sign from God that I have to go to this school." Celestina says excited and jumping up and down.

Lawrence shrugged off her naivety seeing as if she got excited over a romance novel when she was a kid. He expected that this was one of those moments that she would think that way until reality hits her in the face and she then suddenly gives up.

Although THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENED.

After breakfast, Celestina stood up and confronted her mother and father in the throne room while Lawrence was following her.

"What are you doing?! Are you crazy?!" Lawrence shouted in a calm face. "You're really going with this plan of going to be an exchange student!"

"Yes. and I think it's what was suppose to happen and if I think it's supposed to happen then I'll have to deal with it." Celestina says to him without turning back to Lawrence. She knew what she wanted and she's going to go after it. It's what her grandfather thought her after all. Her resolve is final and she's doing it.

She then opens the throne room door. To see her mother and father sitting on the throne. "Oh hello sweetie. How are you doing?" Her mother asked her.

"Mother, Father. I have a request for both of you."

"What is it dear?" Her father came closer to lend an ear to her request.

"I wish to go away from the castle for a while and study on a commoner school." She dropped the bomb on her parents.

They all stood up wide-eyed by her request. "And why would you exactly want to do that sweetie?" Her father interviewed her.

"Grandfather told me that in order to be a better person and in order to be a successful ruler of the Aurora Kingdom. He told me that I have to experience the whole package of life. The reason he was able to take care of the poor and the weak is because he experienced it himself."

Everyone in the family knows that the previous king of Aurora Kingdom was the only king of the kingdom that was not part of the royal family. Meaning he was not a true-blooded royal and people still followed him either way due to his assertiveness and good leadership skills and he was very caring and he was a role model for many.

"I decided to follow the footsteps of my grandfather and live my life as a commoner by signing up as a transfer student to better help the people," Celestina explained with confidence.

In the back of Lawrence's mind, he is rolling his eyes with this bluff Celestina is saying. Not only she told her that her goal was to find love and make friends... she told her parents.. the reason that would most likely make them approve.. a smart decision for her.

"Celestina... I.." Her mother is at a loss for words...

"It's honorable of you to want to follow my father's footsteps, Celestina, and by that. I have no choice but to grant your wish. Although your mother and I would miss you but I think it's for the best." His father says agreeing to the request...

Celestina is smiling and happy that her efforts to convince them worked but on the other side... Lawrence is cringing... not only was she able to manipulate her parents into allowing her to go... but she was able to make it seem like she was honorable.

"Great! That is wonderful! Here is a flyer from a foreigner of our country." Celestina came up to his mother and father's throne and showed them the flyer "They said they were looking for exchange students and this is where I wish to start my journey to improve myself as the future ruler of the Kingdom of Aurora."

"Alright then. I would make the necessary steps to sign you up for this. I would truly miss you daughter.." Her mother hugged her and so did her father...

And that's when the journey to normal life started...
