Chapter 40: 41st In The Dark Dark
Dark Dark woke up. The surface he was lying on was hard. Where was I? And how did I got here?
It was dark. There was no window in the room. This wasn't my room. What the hell? Oh, I fell asleep in the studio.
Well, I was writing till it was late and somehow fell asleep. That's not that rare.
He stood up and caught Fade sitting with his bass. "You up to something?", he asked. "Oh, shut up!", Dark Dark answered. "You look sleepy. You slept in here again? You should get yourself a break and get out of here. It's not very comfortable", Fade said. "Yeah I know", Dark Dark replied and left the studio. In the second floor Dark entered the aisle with his room and saw Menace infront of it. "Hi Menace!", he greeted her. "Hi, you scared me", she said.
Dark Dark made a confused face. "What you doing here?", he asked. "Waiting for you. I wanted to talk with you", she went on. "About what?" Dark Dark wanted to know. "You know... Frosty. Fighting. Magic. Trick. Young Blood. Phoenix... What's going on...", she answered. "I don't wanna talk about Frosty", he replied. "Well, you want a new fighting partner, right?", Menace said. He compliedly forgot about that. He should talk to Numb. "How you know that?", Dark questioned."I'm your best friend. I know everything", she said. "Why you ask then?", he wanted to know. "Very funny", she answered. "Now come on. Tell me a little bit. Don't be so shy. " "But I am shy.", Dark Dark replied. "Not with me", Menace meant. "Okay, but inside", he agreed, opened the door to his room and got in. Menace followed him.
It was 5 pm when Frosty was still sitting at the bar with her sixth alcoholic drink. Fade came to her and asked: "why are you drinking so much alkohol?" "It tastes good. I like it", she answered. "You can't be serious", he said. Frosty replied:"I like being drunk?" Fade shock his head."Okay but don't come at me with, I can't stand my life expect when I'm drunk. That's not true", she responded. Fade meant:"but it sounds about right." "No, no, no. This is not right! I'm not miserable!", Frosty called and stood up. She took her cocktail, drank it, put the glass in the dishwasher and left unsteady down the hallway. At least she still could walk when she was drunk.
After Menace and Dark Dark talked in his room, she left and he was gattering his energy to levitate in the air. He was between reality again. Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Dark Dark was surprised and landed on the floor elegantly. July was standing at the door. Dark still had energy glance in his eyes and looked scary. July looked afraid and stumbled: "dinner... Eh... Please... Come...we have dinner..." Dark Dark nooded and agreed: "okay" and the energy glance in his eyes faded. July was normal again and said:"you looked so scary with that energy glance." "That's the point. It's supposed to scare people", Dark Dark answered and followed her downstairs to the kitchen.
