Chapter 40: CHPT 40: Disciple of the Wolf

"NRRGGHH—"
Claudes Aura reinforced spear stabbed into the beasts stomach. He used both of his arms to push the spear deeper and deeper in an attempt to rip through anything he could. His body glistened with sweat and veins bulged in both of his arms as he pushed the spear until it was completely submerged inside the beast.
"ARRRRRGHHHH!!!" He used every last ounce of strength and will power until the beasts lifeless body tipped over and fell into the grass. He watched the green energy surrounding his hand and spear slowly fade to nothingness, soon after he pulled his broken spear from inside the beast. It was now only a steaming and charred stick that eventually crumbled in the wind.
DING!

"Pending? Whatever." Claude said, too exhausted worry about the delayed reward.
He turned to the giant shadow that was the Phantom Legion. The eyes stared at him plainly for a while without blinking. The giant wolf stepped out of the darkness at the height it originally stood at, 7ft.
"Lemme guess, shadow manipulation of some sort?" He asked.
The giant wolf nodded before turning into a ball of black smoke. Slowly and randomly, smaller balls of smoke would fly out and land near the big ball until there were 6 balls of smoke on the grass.
The smoke dissipated and revealed the wolves he learned to respect and care for, The Phantom Wolves. "Welcome back guys, you really saved my life back the—...ugh" Claude said as he wobbled on his feet and eventually passed out.

He was startled awake a few hours later by an immense feeling of fear that sent shivers through his body, he was familiar with this feeling.
"Fenrir is nearby." Claude said as he got up warily. The wolves that slept closely around him got up as well.
Claude looked to the direction of the thick forest in front of him. He could feel Fenrir fast approaching as the fearsome pressure hit them all like a lightning strike.
doom...doOM...dOOM....DOOM!
The sound of large paws stomping through the forest became clearer with each step. Claude fell to one knee from the pressure slowly becoming unbearable, he looked behind him and saw all the Phantom Wolves sitting close behind him with their heads down.
Wsh...wsh
The sound of leaves parting and rusting notified Claude that Fenrir had stepped out of the forest in front of them.
"Heheheh....yourrrgrrr diffferent boyyy." Fenrir said in a hauntingly deep voice that still sounded wrong.
"Y-yes, it appears that way. Can you tell me what's wrong with my h—" Claude trailed off as he looked at his left arm. The transformation of his hand and forearm had spread up his arm until it was just below his shoulder. The muscles in his left arm were now much larger and his whole arm was a dark shade of grey or black under the new jet black hair— fur.
"What is happening to me?" Claude asked silently.
"Rrr...that issss not forr me to answerrrrrgr. But, Allll of yourr questions shall be answered soooon. Now, it is timme I grrrant you a gift...rrreward.. as my disciple." Fenrir said as he put his massive head against Claudes for a brief moment.
Claude felt his body tingle and strengthen for a moment before going back to normal.
DING!

"I'm your disciple?" Claude asked confusedly.
"Yessgr, youuu dont havvvveeerr much time left so listennn boyyy."
Claude suddenly felt the cool burn of hatred settling inside him like a welcomed dose of poison upon realizing that he would be back in the real world soon.
Fenrir continued.
"Youurrrgr life in the realll world is going to channnge drrrastically noww...you don't know what you are yet, buttt yourr journey will be filled with pain and trrriumph.....lllove and betrrrayal. Yourr....affliction.. will show youuu the world through the eyessss of something other....greater than human...grr." Fenrir said as Claudes vision faded to black and he left the Astral world.
