Chapter 1: 01
"Dein! Hurry!" I quickly scribbled the last words on my note and slammed it closed. After shoving my notes in my bag I immediately ran towards Cynah and she grabbed my hand. We looked at each other and smirked. We know we're thinking the same thing.
"1...2..3!"
"Girls! Don't run in the hallway!" I heard a teacher scream, I looked at her direction and made a peace sign, she just sighed and shook her head. Cynah looked at me and we both burst in laughter. Who said school is boring? Psh
"I can see it already!" I heard Cynah say and my eyes went where she's looking. The shop! Yes!
We quickly went there and as soon as we got inside both my hands collapsed on my knees as I tried to catch my breath. I feel so exhausted!
"No time to rest." I heard Cynah said and felt her hand grab me. I groaned in frustration and just let her drag me along the pastry displays beside the counter.
"Are there still moon cakes left?" Cy asked the man on the counter. He nodded, I can feel my eyes twinkling and mouth watering. Wait for me, my moon cake!
"Two please" She said and the man took our order.
"You two are lucky, there's only two left." The two of us sighed in relief, our efforts didn't go to waste!
He gave us our orders and we took a seat outside the shop because it's quite crowded inside. We both took our forks and looked at each other as we both tried the first bite. This has already become our habit whenever we eat our moon cake, I know, it's weird.
"Mmm! Wahhhh! It's sooo delicious!" I can't help but exclaim.
"One moon cake isn't enough!" Cy whined and I can totally relate to what she feels. This is the only close shop that sells moon cake so we have to always hurry because people are also lining up for it.
"I know..." we sadly looked at each other and both sighed.
After we finished eating we both parted ways, Cy lives in the opposite direction so we always go home separately. I called the driver and slumped on the car seat as soon as I got inside. I feel tired and sleepy already, but the moon cake is worth it!
"Are you alright young miss?" the driver asked and I nodded.
"Just a bit tired. We should quickly go home, I want to sleep already." he nodded and we went home.
-The next morning-
"Morning Cy!" I greeted her as soon as I saw her from the entrance. She looked at me and waved.
"Morning too young miss!" She joked. I shook my head at what she called me and took my seat.
"Young miss? Really?" I said and she laughed.
Our eyes went on the door when the teacher walked in. The class immediately shut their mouth.
"Okay guys, go back to your seats!" She announced and students went back to their seats. She then turned to the black board and started writing something.
I took out my notes and put them on the table. I was about to take my pen when I saw a hand take my notes and purposely drop it on the floor along.
"Oops" I looked up to see and saw that it's Freya. The girl who hates me for 'I don't know' reason. I
I rolled my eyes at her and just picked up my supplies. While picking up she stepped on my hand and walked towards her seat. That! Ugh! I really really want to try my taekwondo skills on her but I also really don't want to get in trouble.
I massaged my hand to ease the pain. That really hurts!
Deep breaths Dein, ignore. People like that shouldn't waste your time.
I forced a smile and just acted like nothing happened. My eyes went to Cy and she mouthed 'something wrong'. I shook my head and smiled. She nodded and smiled back. She'll turn monsters again if she knew Freya did something.
Time flew very slowly and it's lunch time. We went to the cafeteria to get food, we usually don't eat there but because it wasn't crowded we decided to stay.
We sat on one of the vacant seats that is located quite far from others. We prefer a peaceful environment when eating, but it seems like 'peace' doesn't want to stay for a long time.
I was about to take a mouthful of food when someone knocked over my tray of food. And guess who did it? Yeah, Freya. I looked at her with a blank expression and she just smirked, does she think she's cool or something? How immature and childish.
"Yah! You!!" Cy was about to throw punches on her so I quickly grabbed her hand and stopped her. I really do want to punch her face but I also don't want trouble. I gave a look on Cy to stop and she gave a confused expression.
I heard Freya 'tsked' as she left along with her toads.
"What's wrong with you? You should've kicked her and punched her to death!" Cy exclaimed and I sighed. There she goes, going wild.
"It's better to keep off trouble Cy, just ignore her." I said and she tsked. I know she understands that I don't want to make any bad records in school that's why I always try to stay out of trouble. I still do fun things at school though but I know my limit. Also, I don't want any stain in my reputation.
"Wait here i'll just get another set of food." I said and she nodded. I stood up and made my way to the counter.
After getting my food I went back to our table and saw Cy busy texting. I casually sat and took a bite on the fries while looking at her.
"Who are you texting?" I can't help but ask when I noticed her hands are typing so fast.
She looked at me and put her phone back in her pocket.
"Just some guy, he got the wrong number and he started to talk nonsense stuff." She said, I just nodded.
