Chapter 7: THE MADAM IS VERY LUCKY

What started as a gentle kiss soon turned heated. The cold breeze blew against their entwined bodies, yet their temperatures were high. Gu Xichen broke away first leaning his head against Xin Weilin's.

After their breathing stabilized, they headed back home, tightly holding onto each other's hands.

The dazed Xin Weilin did not even realize when they reached their room or when Gu Xichen steered her in the direction of the bathroom.

"Go shower," a chuckle in his voice.

Xin Weilin finally came out of her daze, picked out her clothes, before entering the bathroom to take a shower. After her shower, Xin Weilin stood before the bathroom door nervously clenching and unclenching her fists.

Because nothing had happened between them the night before: their wedding night, Xin Weilin had subconsciously relaxed and had thought nothing would happen again tonight.

But now...

Snowy white hands reached up to touch her still tingling lips, the same lips that had been been thoroughly kissed earlier.

Xin Weilin steeled herself, before opening the door. It wasn't like this was the first time she would be doing it, she had been married for three years in her previous life.

His eyes followed her each and every movement as she carried out her nightly routine, until she finally came and lay down beside him. His hands reached out to her, bringing her into his embrace.

Feeling his strong arms around her, Xin Weilin stiffened, preparing herself for what was about to come.

One second...

Two...

Three...

Xin Weilin waited but nothing happened. She looked up to see Gu Xichen gazing at her with smiling eyes.

Xin Weilin turned away with flaming cheeks, as if burnt by his ardent gaze. She took a deep breath to calm her racing heart.

"Are you so eager to fulfil your wifely duties, Weilin," her cheeks turned even redder at his words.

Xin Weilin hit him on his shoulder, eliciting a deep laugh from him.

"Gu Xichen, I know I married you due to some reasons, but I fully intend to make this marriage work." Xin Weilin suddenly said in a solemn tone. "After all where can I find another husband as handsome as you," she added.

She felt his eyes on her, but she couldn't bring herself to look up and meet his gaze.

"About the matter of us... uhh of us c-consummating our marriage, I really don't mind." Xin Weilin felt her heart stop as soon as she finished that statement, her face burned in embarrassment.

He abruptly moved, hovering above her, eyes locked with hers, breaths intermingling.

"Are you sure?" His voice came out hoarse.

Xin Weilin smiled, "My heart has already accepted you as my husband."

Gu Xichen didn't let her say anything else, instead capturing her lips in a searing kiss.

An article of clothing was soon tossed to the ground, followed by another, and then another, till nothing remained but two naked bodies engrossed in battle.

. . . . . . . .

He was a beast!

A beast in hiding!

He had deceived her into thinking he was a gentle and cultured man, but the marks on Xin Weilin's body proved he was anything but. She begrudgingly dressed in a high collared shirt and paired it with white jeans, before heading downstairs to look for Gu Xichen.

She noticed the staff standing outside the kitchen, all of them peering into the kitchen with awed expressions.

"This is the first time sir is entering the kitchen, and it is to cook for his wife," one of the maids gossipped to another.

"Aiyo the madam is very lucky."

Xin Weilin also curiosly peered in.

The tall handsome figure of Gu Xichen entered her sights. Seeing him made her remember the events of the night before, her cheeks flushed, heart racing.

As if sensing her presence, he turned around, his gaze deep. Xin Weilin's heart skipped a beat upon seeing his face. She stared at him entranced, completely forgetting everything else.

There was just something charming about seeing a handsome man cooking in the kitchen. And he was cooking for her.

Gu Xichen instructed the maids to take the food to the dining room.

"Good morning Mrs Gu"

"Good morning Mr Gu," Xin Weilin replied as they went to the dining room.

After they finished breakfast, Xin Weilin went out to meet Song Fei. They planned on doing a little shopping, then having lunch all together.

Xin Weilin felt a little emotional when she first saw Song Fei, but after they started talking, it felt like they had never been apart.

It was already afternoon when they decided to take a break and eat.

"So how is married life?"

Xin Weilin still hadn't found an opportunity to tell Song Fei about her marriage to Gu Xichen. The moment they met, they started to talking about all sorts of things but never broached the topic of their marriage.

"I didn't get married," said Xin Weilin. "At least not to Mo Zhouli."

Deep brown eyes stared at her in surprise, and then worry.

"What do you mean?"

"You were right, Mo Zhouli is a jerk. He didn't even show up at the civil affairs bureau. I waited all day, and even fell asleep while waiting for him. In the end I picked out a random guy and got married."

"What!?" Song Fei shrieked, causing multiple heads to turn in their direction.

Not that they weren't looking in the first place, after all they didn't see such beauties every day. One beautiful and graceful, slender but well endowed in the right places, whilst the other gorgeous and alluring, with a stunning figure all women would kill to have.

"Yes, I got married to a handsome stranger."

"How can you just get married to someone you know nothing about? I know you were desperate, but you shouldn't have made such a hasty decision, at least not without consulting me first." Song Fei admonished.

Xin Weilin couldn't tell her about her rebirth, and how desperate she had been to just escape from events of her previous life.

"Since you're such a good judge of character, why don't you wait to meet him before deciding he's bad for me. He's coming to pick me up after lunch," Xin Weilin shrugged.

She decided to not reveal his identity, she would like to see the look of shock on Song Fei's face when she realized her friend married Gu Xichen, the man every woman dreamt of marrying.

Xin Weilin couldn't help feeling smug, the man she had picked out turned out to be such a bigshot. She had excellent taste.

"I still think you shouldn't have gotten married to that stranger. You could have called my brother, you know he'd drop everything and rush to you. At least I know he's reliable." Song Fei as she payed for their meal.

Xin Weilin hadn't thought of Song Fei's brother at all. Song Fei had suggested it when Xin Weilin was faced with the dilemma of her inheritance, but she just couldn't see herself marrying someone whom she'd always regarded as a brother, even though he liked her.

It hadn't even occured to her to call Song Feichi when she was desperately looking for a husband, because just as Song Fei had said, her brother would drop everything and rush to her if she had called.

But it was all in the past now, she had already married Gu Xichen and there was no going back now.
