Chapter 25: Chapter 25: Getting to Know the Demigod Cast
We walked to the stage and when I walked on a round of applause happened, most of the main cast was here for the meeting along with Leo and Percy. They either sat at the edge of the stage or in the audience as Lin stood in between the two.
"You did a wonderful job," Pippa croaked from the audience
"First of all," I began, "thank you and second of all please don't speak. We'd like you to have your voice."
"I second that," Renée said as Pippa smiled and the three of us took places throughout the stage. "Okay you two are adorable," Renée commented as I kissed Sammy's forehead and wove my fingers through hers
"Renée," Leslie began, "you're Aphrodite is showing," he finished as she shot him a glare
"As if you're not thinking the same thing," she shot at him and he only replies with silence
"But he isn't wrong," Lin said as Percy nodded
"I mean we bring it up to Pipes and I'm pretty sure she'd do the same thing," Leo said with a smile
Everyone shot back and forth before Sammy and I looked at each other, as we were looking at each other Sammy's eyes changed to a dark brown while I felt Annabeth take control.
You have my permission, I said to her as she chuckled
"Enough," Calypso and Annabeth yelled at the same time making the people in the room jump
"I could've sworn I saw Rose and Sammy here but who are those people," a voice said and Annabeth looked up
That's Cassidy and Maria, the two girls that Percy said were my sisters, I explained as she listened
"That is so weird," Lin muttered as he stood up, "they are still Sammy and Rose but you missed a long bit of explanation as to who is controlling them."
Annabeth then turned my body to Sammy who was still being taken over by Calypso, "We should give them back control so those two don't freak out," she said as my girlfriend's mother nodded and before I knew it her eyes were back to a light amber as Annabeth gave me control
"Cass, Maria," Sammy said with a smile as her fingers wove through mine, "you have a lot to catch up on."
"How do we know that you're our friends and not those voices," Maria asked as she and Cass came closer to the stage
"I'll prove it," I said, turning around to see my two old friends who would soon know that they are my sisters but under different names. "Cass," I began, "you stayed with me at the hospital even after you recovered from your injuries to make sure I was okay and wasn't alone if things went south after the crash. Maria, you fought for me to stay at your house so you both knew that I would be okay even after CPS threatened you with jail time and fines."
The two looked at each other then back at me, "You have a lot of explaining to do," Cass said then looked at Sammy and I's entwined hands. "About time you're together," she added as Maria chuckled and I felt heat rush to my cheeks
"Well sit down and I'll explain," I began as Percy approached me, ���what's up," I said to him as he slung his arm over my shoulders
"I got an idea," he said as he scrunched his nose, "I want to know if you're able to help."
I looked up at the stage to see a mist form appear, I focused it to make it more into the shape of a human. With the help of Percy, we had a mist-form of Annabeth that looked real, I closed my eyes and felt Annabeth's conscious move from my mind. I opened my eyes just as I saw her breath to life and the light entered her eyes. I then turned to Sammy, "Leo," I began, "how much does Sammy look like Cal?"
As I was asking this Annabeth walked up to Percy and judo flipped him, "That feels better to do in a mist-form than my daughter's body," she said as everyone chuckled and Percy groaned
"They look a lot alike," Leo finally answered as I closed my eyes and pictured an exact image of Sammy but a little older. "That's it," he said as I opened my eyes to see almost a mirror image of my girlfriend
"Close your eyes while thinking about the mist-form," I told her as she nodded before closing her eyes. The next thing that happened was dark brown eyes lighting up and the figure breathing
"How did you know what details to add for them," Percy asked as I looked at Calypso's mist-form up and down as Annabeth hugged me.
"Hey mom," I said with a chuckle then I answered Percy, "Because I read the books and paid attention to the descriptions of each character, especially key things such as Annabeth's grey eyes and her blonde hair or Calypso's caramel hair and dark brown eyes."
"And that's what makes you one of my daughters," Annabeth said with a grin right as Calypso slapped Percy
"Stop looking me up and down Jackson, it's getting unnerving," she yelled before walking over to Sammy and giving her a hug
"What the hell is going on," Cass asked as I looked at the two sisters who were staring in awe with the rest of the cast. I chuckled as I looked at Calypso who reunited with Leo and Percy who reunited with Annabeth and me as Sammy continued standing next to me
"All right," I began, "what do you know about the Percy Jackson series," I asked them as their eyes widened. "I'm guessing it's a lot," I said as they nodded
"More like reading every single one of the books," Maria answered as I smirked, "why do you ask?"
"Well, these two are married," I began pointing between Percy and Annabeth, "and they had four children. One of them was a man who died in a fatal car crash protecting me, the other is me and the last two," I paused with a smirk. "Are you two," I finished pointing at them as they froze. "Now you're probably wondering how I know this and if I can prove it, right?"
"Of fucking course, we are," Cass said as I chuckled, "We just came back from being home for about a month and you're saying that we're related."
I chuckled as I turned to Sammy, "May I have my things back please," I asked as she nodded giving me the weapons that I trusted her with before the show. "Now," I began turning to my sisters, "let me begin with your love for swimming," I said with a smirk as I felt pain on the back of my head. "What," I began, "it's a good place to start."
"Yes, but you do not have to be that patronizing with them," Annabeth said as I sighed and Sammy chuckled with her mother and some of the cast
"Fine," I said with the sigh, "you have a connection with the water," I began, "it's sort of like your second home while being on the ground is your first choice for home, right?"
"Yes," Cass said as Maria nodded, "but what does this have to do with anything about us being related?"
"Let me get there," I said, "remember how I said that these two were married and had four children with two of them being you," I asked and they nodded. "Well let me introduce you two to Percy Jackson and Annabeth Jackson," I said with a smile as their faces went slack. "Do you need more proof," I asked them
It took a minute for Cass to say something, "The Mist," she began, "if we're their daughters then we can see through the Mist. Please show us something that usually covered by it," she said as I smiled taking a bracelet off
"Renée showed you this before she gave it to me right," I asked as the both nodded before I showed them the name. "My real name is Zoë Nightshade Jackson," I began, "to mortals, it will show Rose while demigods and other legacies will see my real name. If you're done looking at it, I will show you the next thing that would be covered by the Mist," I said and waited for a minute as they looked at the bracelet. They nodded and I went to put the bracelet on, once I did, I rotated both wrists and the daggers appeared. "Now I won't hurt you with these," I began, "but to mortals, they would only see me rotating my wrist with a bracelet on but as you can see that is not so. Please relax, as I said before I will not hurt you two, I would never do that to people who helped me," I said as they continued shrinking in their seats. I handed them the daggers hilt-first, "you can look at them," I began, "as I said to a certain someone here, a killer wouldn't hand their weapons for the victim to inspect."
Sammy chuckled as my sisters took the weapons, "So that's why you are here," I heard Leslie ask, "but what about Sammy?"
Sammy rested her head on my shoulder, "She's a Valdez," I began as I brushed a strand of hair out of her face. "Seeing as both she and I have our mothers in our heads I'm guessing that the eldest children will have the consciousness of the missing demigod that is their parent," I explained as they nodded
"Where did they go," Cass said as I felt the bracelets appear on my wrists
"Cass," I began as I lifted my arms to show her the bracelets
"Oh," she said as she calmed down
"How did you explain this to Sammy," Jazzy began, "Lin said that she knew but none of us know how she found out."
I sighed, "Well the night that I had that dream flashback about Rachel I went to the roof to get some fresh air," I began. "I told her to go back to sleep after lying to her about these because she kept questioning them whenever I said that Renée wanted to spoil me. Percy and Leo landed on the roof with Festus, they were giving me updates about camp when I heard the door close finding out that she didn't fall asleep. I layed out my bracelets, ring and the pens explaining everything to her, I then did the same things that I just did with Cass and Maria allowing her to look at them. Then I proved to her that Annabeth was in my head which promptly brought Calypso up as she figured out how to control Sammy. I then let the two overdramatic fathers inside so Leo could meet his daughter," I finished as they all nodded. I sighed, "I think one of you should tell them their names then we should get to the demigod cast introductions," I suggested as Percy and Annabeth approached the two
"Cassidy," Percy began, "you are Bianca Di Angelo Jackson," he said as she nodded before Annabeth spoke to Maria
"Maria Rachels," she began with a smirk, "You are Thalia Grace Jackson," she said as Maria nodded
"This is going to be weird calling you two my blood sisters now," I said with a chuckle as Percy and Annabeth stood. "Who's going to start the introductions," I asked as Lin raised his hand
"I'll start it off," he said as I nodded, "I am Lin Manuel Miranda and I am a son of Athena I fought alongside your parents."
Renée chuckled, "I will go next and I will introduce Pippa considering she still doesn't have her voice back and she doesn't want Annabeth and Zoë glaring at her. I am Renée Elise Goldsberry and I am a daughter of Aphrodite while this is Phillipa Soo and she is a daughter of Hades born before the Oath and kept in the Lotus casino with her family."
Everyone nodded as Jazzy stood, "My name is Jasmine Cephas Jones and I am a daughter of Demeter."
Leslie stepped forward after standing up in shock when the mist-form of Annabeth was forming, "My name is Leslie Odom Jr. and I am a son of Dionysus."
"My name is Jonathan Groff and I am the son of Apollo," John said right as Thayne stepped up
My name is Thayne Jasperson and I am a son of Hermes," he said as Sammy and I smiled thinking about the chocolates. "Yes, I put the chocolates in for you two," he said as we chuckled and Percy turned towards Lin
"Aren't there some more," he asked as Lin nodded
"They're probably getting changed still," he said just as Daveed came out with Alex and some ensemble members along with Anthony.
"Daveed Diggs son of Aphrodite at your service," he said as he threw himself in a seat next to his half-sister
"Anthony Ramos son of Hephaestus," Anthony said with a stiff bow before slinging his shoulder around Leo
"Ariana DeBose daughter of Athena," she said as she took a seat next to Cass and Maria
"Emmy Raver-Lampman daughter of Ares," she introduced sitting on the edge of the stage
"Betsy Struxness daughter of Hypnos," she said sitting next to Emmy
"Every demigod in this cast fought alongside both of your parents whether it be the war against Kronos or the war against Gaea if not both," Lin said with a smiled
"It is a please to meet you all as demigods," I said with a smile as I looked around at the smiling face then looked at my sisters. "You want to know everything that's happened don't you," I asked them and they nodded as I sighed, "I'll give you a run over once this is over, Sammy has been staying the night until her room's ready at Lin's."
Once again, the two nodded, "I just want to say that some of the gifts that you two get will have extensions for your siblings," Leo said with a smile. "Please come to camp when you can so I can see if they work and so you can train," he added as we all smiled
"Before everyone leaves, we want to see you go against Leo," Renée said as I looked at the three ladies who had smiling faces
"I veto that one," Leo said, "she favors pointy objects while I favor fire, I do not want a stray fireball to hit something and catch the stage on fire.
As he was saying this Annabeth approached me and held out her hand, "Dagger please," she said with a smirk and I chuckled. "I'd suggest you dispel the mist-form of Cal so you have all of your focus for this," she said and I nodded
"I have Annie's mist-form so you're good it was just creating her," Percy said as I nodded then looked over to Sammy and Calypso.
"You two ready," I asked as they nodded and Sammy closed her eyes just as the mist-form of Calypso disappeared. "Can I change into something more suitable for dueling," I asked as she nodded before I dashed up the stairs and went into my room. I changed into leggings and a tank top with a sports bra underneath. I put my hair up in a bun then rushed back down onto the stage. "Dagger only," I asked as she nodded. I rotated my wrist and handed her a dagger
She took the dagger just as everyone took their seats in the audience, "Thank you," she said as she grabbed it. "Begin," she said as she dashed towards me
I dodged away from her dagger as I skidded to a stop and cursed as I felt pain in my arm. I looked to Annabeth to see the dagger dripping with blood. "That's not going to make me yield," I said as I dashed towards her and struck. We traded blow after blow until she tried to sneak her dagger in for a stab at my gut. With my free hand, I grabbed her wrist and spun it around so I was behind her. I twisted the wrist as I held the dagger to her neck, "Yield," I said, making sure I put enough strength on the wrist so she couldn't twist out and keeping as much space as I could so she couldn't kick my legs out from under me.
After she tried to twist herself out and knock me off my feet she finally nodded, "I yield," she said, loosening her grip on the dagger. I rotated the dagger at her throat to grab the second one, once I grabbed it, I rotated that wrist and let go of her. The next thing I felt was the stage slamming into my back and the weight of my mother on top of me smirking. "Just remember how this feels because you do deserve it at times," she said as I chuckled while regaining my breath. She helped me up and into a hug
"I will do that," I said as she nodded, we then looked over to Percy and nodded. I felt her consciousness seep into my head as her mist-form disappeared, I then turned to the demigods who were watching, "what?"
"You just beat Annabeth in a fair fight," Lin said stunned as I nodded, "that means you beat the camp's top three fighters."
I blushed, scratching the back of my head, "I'd rather not boast about it," I said then everyone laughed
You are so much like your father, Annabeth said with a chuckle just as Leo said that to Percy
"Can someone get me some ambrosia or something," I asked pointing at my left arm. "Annabeth seemed to have cut my non-prosthetic arm," I added as Percy got up while digging in his pockets
"Here you go," Percy said as he gave me a piece and I ate it, "and some water because I'm pretty sure you haven't had any since the show."
As he was saying this a bottle of water materialized out of thin air, "Thanks dad," I said as I took a sip of the water feeling energized as soon as it touched my tongue
"Is anyone going to comment how Perce made a bottle of water appear in his hand," Leslie commented as everyone chuckled
I shrugged, "I'm pretty sure that he can do a lot as his power gets stronger, he just manages to strengthen the parts that'll help more than the ones that'll hurt."
Percy nodded, "That's right," he said then looked at his watch, "Schist, I'm supposed to meet up with your grandparents soon. You get some rest and give Thalia and Bianca a rundown of what's happening," he said giving me a hug
"Tell Sally, Paul and Estelle I said hi," I said as he nodded, "and that Estelle will get to meet Bianca and Thalia soon."
Percy nodded before disappearing in a cloud of mist, "I'm guessing you're right about the power thing," Lin said as Leo chuckled
"Dad," Sammy said, "will I be able to do that," she asked as Leo paled
"Yeah but don't practice your fire powers in public," he said and at that moment I was pretty sure he was picturing her powers going crazy.
"I can keep the people in here from getting burned but that is all," a voice from behind me said. I turned to see a muscular man standing next to Poseidon, the man had muscles all over his body along with welts. "Why hello grandfather," I began, then turned to the man. "Hello Hephaestus," I said with a small curtsy
The man chuckled, "Oh please no formalities, I am not usually one for them," he said as I stood. "May I talk to you in private real quick Jackson," he asked, "your grandfather would like to talk to Samantha as well."
"Of course," I began, "don't forget you also have to introduce yourself to your granddaughter to sir," I said as he chuckled once more as we walked backstage
"I will be sure to do so," he said as we neared the dressing rooms, "now," he began with a sigh. "You probably got a threat from both sides of the family have you not," he asked as I nodded. "I figured but I would like to bless you with fire immunity and control over Samantha's flames since she doesn't know how to control them yet," he said. "And please treat her right, she may not be telling you all that she's been through but she has been through a lot."
"I accept your blessing my lord," I began, "I do not ever plan on treating her poorly," I added as he smiled
"Close your eyes," he ordered and as soon as I did, I felt a cover go over my body and some power seeped in. "You do have some capability of creating fire but it isn't as sensitive as if you were a child of me," he explained once I opened my eyes
"Thank you," I said, "do you want to see your children and meet your granddaughter?"
"Yes, I most certainly do," he said as I nodded, leading him back to the stage when I made it back, I heard laughter coming from the cast. He made his way to Leo and Sammy as I made my way to Poseidon and my sisters
"So, I see that you have met my sisters," I began as I approached them
"Yes, I have," he began as he hugged me, "I do have something for all three of you," he added as he pulled out a package. "This was made soon after you left the palace Zoë," he said as my two sisters looked at me
"You went to his palace," Maria asked as I chuckled
"Yeah," I said with a blush, "that's where I defeated Dad in a spar," I added
"You defeated Dad," Cass exclaimed
"Yeah," I began, "you do remember that I told you two that I'd catch you up to speed right?"
"Yes," they said in unison as Poseidon unwrapped his package
"Then please wait," I said as they nodded, "what did you bring us?"
Poseidon chuckled, "Tyson made replica watches for you three," he began, "it has a cartridge for a small amount of nectar and ambrosia. You pull the dial all the way out to activate the shield and push the dial to have the vial of nectar come out along with the piece of ambrosia," he explained as I took the watch. "He said that he's also giving something to the eldest child that shall be passed down if they die," he began once more turning to me as I fastened the watch onto my wrist. "Pull the pin out," he said and I did so, what came out was a trident, "the mortals will see a staff while you four along with other demigods and legacies will see the trident. That should be a last resort weapon if your other weapons don't return or they break," he finished. "Oh, and Percy does have one so don't worry about that," he added with a small chuckle
"Thank you, Poseidon," I said as I sensed another presence, I turned to see a beautiful woman. She radiated with power as she stood tall with her brown hair flowing down her back. Her grey eyes showed the warmth of plans and ideas but yet they were still dark enough to make me fear her a little. Without Annabeth telling me I already know who she was, "What brings you here Lady Athena," I said with a small curtsy as Lin's head shot up along with Ariana's
"Mom," they said in unison with Annabeth who was in shock
Athena smiled softly, "Hello Lin and Ariana," she began, "it is nice to finally meet you three. Poseidon wouldn't stop talking about you, mostly you Zoë since he hadn't met the other two," she finished. "Please the only Olympians who care about formalities are Zeus and Hera," she added as I stood up. "As for what I'm doing here, Poseidon isn't the only one who wants to see their grandchildren," she added once more. Everyone in the room chuckled as she leaped gracefully from the stage, "So this is Thalia and Bianca," she asked and I nodded. "you said that you're going to give them a quick rundown of everything?"
I nodded once more, "Once everyone leaves and we have time to relax," I answered and she nodded. "Please don't see that you're here to threaten Sammy about our relationship," I said with a groan
"Oh, yes I have to do that," she said thoughtfully as everyone else chuckled, "Poseidon have you threatened her yet? If you haven't would it be all right if I meet talk to the grandchildren first," she asked as the god of the sea stood up
"Yes, it is, Athena," he answered, "I was just about to talk to Sammy myself," he added, "now, where is she?"
I looked around the theater and saw her talking with Leo and Hephaestus by the stage, "Hey Sams," I began and she looked up. "My grandparents want to talk to you," I finished as she nodded pushing herself off the stage and walking over to us
"How may I help you Poseidon and Athena," she asked once she got close enough
"Come with me Samantha," Poseidon began, "I need to talk to you about something."
After half an hour of talking with the gods and goddesses that appeared everyone soon disappeared in their personal way. I had gotten threats to treat Sammy by everyone in my family and a claim from Athena. I had yet to catch Maria and Cass up to speed with what's going on at camp much less open the gifts that I got. After I told them everything, they started asking questions
"Where did Dad find Annabeth's body," Cass asked me as Sammy and I sat in the middle of the room opening the gifts
"Don't know," I answered, "I was going to ask him that but at that point, I found out someone was spying on us from inside the theater," I explained shooting a glare at Sammy.
"You love me Z," she said with a smirk
"You already have a nickname for Zoë," I asked her as she giggled, "that's not a bad one though," I added thoughtfully
"I already have one for Bianca but I'm still thinking of Thalia," she said as I smiled tearing open the wrapping paper of the next package
"What is it," I asked her as I opened the box
"Bi," Sammy replied as I handed a sheathed dagger to Cass and Maria, I had already taken off my shirt so I was more comfortable. The two had already seen me wearing these as pajamas so it didn't faze me
Cass groaned, "I'm not even Bi though why do you have to do that to me," she asked
"Don't worry I'll call you B," I said as Cass shot a glare in my direction, "what if I'm Z you have to be B."
Cass sighed as she strapped the dagger to her belt, "Then is Thalia T?"
Sammy and I looked at each other, "Yeah," I began, "since Thals is already taken by her namesake."
Sammy's face lit up, "Thaly," she said as Maria threw herself on the bed and groaned. It went on like that for about half an hour until they left and Sammy and I were cuddling on the bed. "Hey Zoë," she began as I looked up at the ceiling
"Yeah," I answered
"What do you think is going to happen in this life," she asked me as I felt her head shift on my chest
"I don't know," I said looking down and into her beautiful eyes, "but there is one thing that I'm sure of."
"What's that?"
"I will never stop loving you," I said kissing her
That night I slept cuddling her as if she were a mist-form and if I let her go, she'd disappear.
