Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Claire and Candice

After Leon asked the mayor and the commander of the city's troops to come and talk in private, all the other orcs present understood that their Gods did not want to be disturbed during this discussion.
All the orcs present hurried to follow the orders of their God. So the maids hurriedly prepared the conference room of the manor so that Leon, the commander and the city's sights could discuss in peace in this room without being disturbed by the other inhabitants of the manor.
After a few minutes the room was ready. Several maids hurried in the direction of Leon's group to guide them into the conference room of the manor.
"Your majesty, the conference room has been prepared for you. Please follow me." One of the maids said to Leon but while bowing her head and bending her body at 90 degrees.
"Hm." Leon simply replies by nodding his head.
The two other orcs concerned do not dare to speak their minds. Even though the mansion belongs to the mayor of SunsetCity, she doesn't dare to say her opinion in front of her God. To contradict Leon for the orcs is the same as blaspheming.
"Your majesty, ladies, we have arrived at the conference room that has been prepared for the occasion," the same maid who spoke earlier told Leon's group.
After the maids lead Leon and the other two orcs into the conference room they head back in the direction of the rest of Leon's group.
Indeed, Leon still has the mercenary orcs and the two orc sisters he met during his mission in his group. The maids hurry to serve Leon's group.
The maids are a bit jealous of the group of orcs that followed Leon to SunsetCity. But since they are professional maids, they keep a smile on their faces but it doesn't reach their ears.
Meanwhile in the capital of the kingdom of Polon...
"My queen, we have finished the preparations! An orc servant says while kneeling in front of Claire.
"Good work! How long has our race been waiting for this moment?!" The queen asks the orc in front of her.
"My queen, to answer your question, our race has been waiting for this moment for more than 1000 years! The orc answers her with a tone filled with enthusiasm.
"You are right, we have been waiting for this moment for more than a thousand years. The arrival of our God has changed the destiny of all the orcs present in the continent of Polioni. Claire answers him with a look full of fanaticism when she speaks about their God.
"Yes your majesty! Without our God all this would have been impossible." The orc said with the same look on his face that Claire had when she spoke of Leon.
"The only thing left to do is to wait for our King to exterminate all the undead in our continent. Then after that we can launch the plan!" The queen said with a tone filled with coldness when she finished speaking.
Claire has always wanted to make the orcs an important race in the world of Tetha again. Indeed, she has lived in fear since she was a little girl because she was born in a region of the Kingdom of Polon that borders the Kingdom and the rest of the continent.
Because of this, she had an extremely difficult childhood. Every day she had to fight with the monsters, the undead that came to attack their village.
However, it was not only monsters and undead that came to attack her village but also other orcs. Indeed, before Leon's arrival, the orcs were very disunited. They all thought that they were going to die one day or another because of the undead.
The orcs had no real hierarchy at that time. However, everything changed the moment the orcs heard the prophecy of the arrival of their God Leon.
When she heard the prophecy, Claire was only 10 years old at the time. The orcs also started to make sure they had a stable society for the arrival of their future God.
As in any society there must be leaders and followers, the selection to become a leader was extremely hard and cruel.
Many orcs were killed in the selection process. Claire, who was only 10 years old at the time, immediately wanted to become an important figure in the society that was being built at that time.
However, her ascent was not without pain. Indeed, after 2 years she decided to become an important orc she had already lost several friends.
To have a role in the orc society, you had to have war merit. To get war merits, there is nothing easier than to go hunting undead and monsters on the continent of Polioni.
But these numerous hunts are not without death. Indeed, many orcs died during this period because of the strong desire of the orcs to become a united race.
At the age of 14, Claire had already experienced several situations where she had lost loved ones. At that time she started to doubt the usefulness of fighting the undead because they didn't seem to really die.
Two years later she met an orc who became her little daugther, Candice. Her daughter Candice is different from Claire because she has always been warm.
This is very different from Claire who was cold to all the orcs around her. So Candice helped Claire to open up to the other orcs of the Polioni continent.
Candice was the light that illuminated the darkness of this world for Claire. Claire met Candice in the street next to a market in a small town in Polioni called AquaCity.
It's a small merchant city that is located by the sea, it's very famous for its poison fishing and its different maritime goods.
When Claire saw Candice, the latter was not living a very good life. Indeed, Candice was not a fighter or a leader like Claire. She did not have much choice to survive in the orc society that seemed to take a big turn in its development.
She had no choice but to sell the fruit she picked in the forest. However, she always kept a smile on her face despite the fact that she risked her life every day to go pick these fruits in the forest next to AquaCity.
Her smile allowed her to sell some fruit every day just to survive in the city. It was this smile that saved Claire. Indeed, when Claire arrived in this city, she had already lost half of her group. The orcs she had lost were all dead because of undead or monsters.
So at that moment Claire didn't have the courage to continue and started a depression. However, the moment she saw the little Candice selling every day fruits that she picked in the forest while she has no ability to fight, Claire was ashamed of her behavior.
Indeed, the little Candice was putting her life in danger every day but she kept a smile on her lips every day. While she, lamented that she was not strong enough to fight the undead.
This shocked Claire greatly. After several months of contact with Candice, Claire decided to approach her and take her into her group.
