Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Leaving the forest (3)
We stayed in the carriage for the majority of the day. I wasn't ready for it to be over. The seats were comfortable and I spent most of my time staring outside and marveling at my predicament.
Eventually, I noticed that we seemed to be approaching a city. More specifically, the same city where Yu Yan had lived with her awful family. I really didn't want to be recognized and brought back to that place. I shook slightly, remembering everything they had put her throw and I'm was terrified that they would just decide to kill me again!
I turned toward Cael, who was sitting next to me and gripped his shirt sleeve tightly. A little tacken it back by my sudden movement, he looked down at me and asked
" Huh..hey what's wrong?!?!"
I shook my head vigorously and pointed outside the carriage at the approaching city.
"You can't take me there!" I said, trying to convey my emotions through my voice.
He didn't answer right away to I gripped him harder and said again,
" Please, please don't take me there!" my voice broke halfway through and it ended on a panicked note. Cael seemed a little freaked out, he opened his mouth but he was interrupted by a cold voice
"Why?" Ying Chen asked, leaning back in his seat with his arms crossed, staring down at my hands gripping Cael's shirt.
"I-...I don't know. I just know that if I go there I'll get hurt..." I responded, not meeting his eyes. But my voice wavered and sounded sufficiently scared. It wasn't even really an act, I was terrified. I hadn't even broken a bone in my past life. And yet, Yu Yan had been beaten and then stabbed to death! If that witch had done it once, she surely would do it again.
Cael seemed to have come to his senses and took my cold hands in his.
" Don't worry, we won't let anything happen to you."
" YEAH! No one will mess with you, with us protecting you!" Adan chimed in enthustaiclly. Lou Fang nodded and even Ying Chen grunted in response. Somehow they were all so comforting, after all, they all looked capable and they obviously had wrath to be transported by such a lavish carriage...WAIT A MINUTE!!!!
HOW DO I KNOW THEY AREN'T WORKING FOR YU YANS FAMILY!!!! That would explain why they were in teh cave!!!! Maybe, Lui Jinghua had suspected that she wasn't really dead and had hired these guys to check and when they had found her ALIVE they decided to take me back to her!
HOLY SHIT! These guys aren't my love interests! There my kidnappers!!!! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
And I just went along with it!!! ಥ﹏ಥ
Of course, they were kidnappers. God, what was I thinking? That a group of handsome men just decided to pick up some random girl off the road?
A couple of moments ago it felt like I was on top of the world and now....I wanted to jump out of the carriage. The group noticed my since and thinking I was still upset, Cale spoke up,
" Hey, how about Ying Chen guards you? If you just stick close to him nothing bad will happen to you."
Instead of feeling comfortable, I felt worse. So Ying Chen would "guard" me, yeah right. This was just an excuse for one of them to stick close to me so I don't run away. All I could do was nod and I looked up at Ying Chen hopefully, he didn't seem like the type to be satisfied being a babysitter. But to my disappointment, he was grunted and looked away.
I cursed inwardly. How could I be so unlucky!!!
