Chapter 9: Chapter 9

And she smiled as she heard the shadows whisper his name too...

"We had gastric lavage performed on her, the amount of pills was just huge and let me tell you we were very close from losing her. Along with high amounts of alcohol in her blood, it's really a miracle she survived"

Sebastian looked down and nodded at the doctor," thanks, doc." He returned back to the room. Every step he takes heavy on his heart. He was responsible for this. All of this.

He opened the door, entering as quietly as possible. He saw her as weak as ever. Her once pink lips are now a pale shade of beige and her flushed face was now a very pale color . She looked dead..even if she wasn't.

Her hands lay by either of her sides. The sounds of beeps filled the cold room and the curtains of the all white room were partially closed.

He sat next to her and admired her. She didn't look alive at all. And it was her fault. While he was busy trying to hurt her, he didn't notice he fell in love with her. Deeply .

He could've lost her. He could've lost that sassy smile. He could've lost the best lawyer in New York. What blinded his mind to do something this terrible, this bad to someone so soft like her ?

Maybe her refusal to break under any circumstances. Or being strong all the time, how could someone be this strong? But then he also asked what could've possibly happened to make her this strong ?

She was a mystery. He just knew about her superficial things. Nothing deep. But he wanted her desperately to tell him about her. To talk hours about herself and he honestly wouldn't mind it.

He held her hand. It was cold. He kissed the back of her hand and placed it on his cheek. What did he do ?

It's has been six hours and the night has set . She didn't even lift a finger. And he didn't dare to make a sound. His eyes went back to the laptop in his lap.

She groaned slowly, as she felt a mounting pain in her stomach. She wanted desperately to open her eyes but she couldn't . Her eyes slowly opened as she struggled more .

She moaned as she stared at a white ceiling . She moved her head to the side to find a smiling Sebastian. What was he doing here?

She opened her mouth to talk but her mouth was parched. She curved her hand as sign for water. Instantly, Sebastian poured some water in a glass and went to June. He lifted her head with one hand and brought the glass to her mouth for to her to drink.

She rested her head back on the pillow and closed her eyes for a few seconds and turned back to Sebastian. "What are you doing here?". Her voice came out weak.

Sebastian looked down and went back to his seat. "Why did you that ?" .

"You ca-can't answer a question with a question"

Sebastian held her hand, "why did you do that ?" . He repeated the question.

A tear found its way from the corner of her eye. She saw his hand holding hers. "I have nothing left here, no one to trust " she paused as she removed her hand from his grip but he held it back again tighter. "You burnt me, Sebastian. What else do you want?, you won "

She shut her eyes and how she wished she could shut them forever. "There's nothing left of me and you still want everything ." She whispered, "what do you still want Sebastian ?"

"All of you, June. All your nothing " he kissed her hand repeatedly.

June looked at him as if she heard him say that he loved her ...or did he ? "What are you saying, Sebastian "

"What you just heard , June "

"Slowly" he placed her on the bed and adjusted the pillows for her. "Is this okay?"

She nodded as she closed her eyes, taking a deep breath.

He looked around the living room as if he was looking into a crime scene. Empty wine bottles laying around the floor. The bottles of pills she took along with colored pills scattered around . He had to call a maid.

He grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and went back to the bedroom. He smiled as he saw her read a book. A hand was under her head and her legs were crossed over the bed. She looked at him and went back to reading.

He snatched the book from hands and watched her as she whined, "you need rest, lots of sleep " . He placed the bottle on the nightstand and sat on the bed next to her. "I don't think you'd mind "

She smiled lightly as he took her into his arms . She felt warm and at home.

This was the only time he was going to see her this vulnerable, this weak in his arms before she turns into the stone-hearted woman she shows to the world. He felt like he wanted to hold her for eternity.

"Stay" she whispered into his ear.

His thumb traced her lower lip, "I'm never going to leave " . He locked his lips with hers, taking in her soft lips. His hands played with her hair as she moaned when he bit her bottom lip.

She pulled away but he pulled her back in, " Not done with you yet "

So...umm, hey. A lot of things are happening and has happening. This story is sucking life out of me. It is getting hot, like real hot . So get ready. Sending hearts, Zara..
