Chapter 2: Road I've never been down before | Ending

The boy now had to obey the laws of traffic and watch out for other cars. He also saw some people walking by now and then. Just throwing the newspaper didn't work anymore as the streets and houses were too far away from each other.

Biking to the houses and stopping to leave the paper was what he had to do now. 'Uhhh, where am I supposed to go though? I don't know these streets.' The boy had thought to himself. And because the roads had ended at some point leading to a park, he had to turn and find another road.

He was almost done with his job for today and only had about 30 minutes left. Almost done.

After cluelessly cycling around he finally found a small road in between houses and rode through it.

A second later, he unexpectedly fell off his bike and on the ground. "Huh? What happened?" he asked himself. "The ground just suddenly grew uneven and I fell off?..."

But he then saw what happened. There was a cat he rode over. "Shoot, I just hit a cat!?" It didn't look like it was dead and he took a closer look. "Nooo, darn. What am I gonna do now? It's definetely dead!"

He didn't know what to do and his heart started beating faster and faster. There was a dead cat laying in front of him. Luckily there was almost no blood. But still. He killed a cat!

'If my parents find out I'm dead! This is terrible...!'

The boy then proceeded to check his bike and discovered that his tire was almost flat. He was lucky and could still ride it. - "But, what am I gonna do with the cat...?"

At first he grabbed his bike and laid it against the wall. Then, he took his bag, opened it, then took the cat and put it in his bag. And as fast as he could, he got on his bike and just pedalled through the streets.

He covered his eyes with his dad hat and cycled even faster. "Oh no, no, no. I feel like a villain now" he said to himself full of fear and confusion.

'Hopefully the cat didn't have any kitten. If it did I'd feel even worse about killing the cat...!' He took a left turn but didn't know where he was going.

'Wait. Maybe I am wrong! Maybe this is the dad...?'

The road he decided to race definetely wasn't the best choice. There was a lot of traffic and a lot of people, though he didn't even pay attention to his surroundings anymore.

So much was going on and he couldn't tell what was happening at this point. His heart was racing and he just kept on pedalling. His breath was out of rhythm and heavy too.

"I shouldn't have gone down a road I didn't know... Now where am I going? Am I gonna burry it? But what if people see me? I also still have to finish my work. Darn it!"

Soon, the boy cycled into the forrest and made sure no one was around. 'Lucky I even found the way here...'

He got off his bike, opened his bag and took out the dead cat. "Poor thing", tears filled the boy's eyes.

Two minutes later, he had dug a large enough hole to fit the cat. He proceeded to bury it, close the hole and sat there for another five minutes.

He wasn't religous or anything but still silently prayed for the cat...

Soon enough, he got up on his bike again and started singing. Not because he didn't care about the cat - but to calm himself down.

"I, I,

I feel like I am flying,

I don't wanna calm down now..."

And this, is how it goes if you travel roads you've never been down before.

The End!
