Chapter 2: Ravenous

A terrible feeling sank in to the pit of my stomach when I entered the drab, grey classroom. I grabbed a seat at the back and tried to think of something else. But what else could I think of other than the last thing Grimsby had said to me? "Maybe he just thinks I need protecting.. Hmph. I can take care of myself, Grimsby. I am not a child. But there had also been a look on his face, a look that told me there was something else, something much more important behind his intentions.
"So, you're the new girl, huh?" The blonde boys voice snapped me back to reality from my thoughts, making me jump." " um, yeah, I guess so." My voice was weak "Well you are or you aren't. There is No' Think " about it. "
That was rude. "Yes, I'm new." I said, biting my lip.
" Ah yes, I thought hadn't seen you around here before. New blood, sweet!" He wore that half smirk again. " So what brings you here?"
I don't get it, yesterday he acted odd and very rude. Today he seems nice, a little too forward but actually wants to know things about me? I was so confused. " it's..My dad."
" your dad ? What about him? "
I groaned at the thought of going through all the pain again of the story about my father and Edna, his wife.
" where do I start? well my dad got remarried. "
" I fail to see what's so bad about that." The sound of him scratching the paper echoed through my mind.
"When she appeared everything changed. "
He shrugs " So who is she ?"
" I don't really know, just one day, she was there. And my father was so fascinated by her, he married her. she said this use to be her school and used lies to send me here. I just hate her so much.. I just- I always thought my dad would always have my side, you know? But.. I guess not. " all that I'd been holding back came gushing out unexpectedly. " oh, uh I'm s-sorry, shit I.. I didn't mean- I shouldn't of told you any of that." I felt embarrassed. " You don't have to be embarrassed." He said casually. He wasn't staring at me or even looking in my direction. He was focusing more what the teacher was writing on the Blackboard . " well it's not something I speak about to anyone, like, ever."I shrugged. " well you told me, and I didn't exactly ask for your life story" there was that smirk again and suddenly annoyance set in. " well I didn't ask for that to come out either. It just did!" I sighed and resumed to jotting notes down from the board. " whoa, chill sista. What are you, on your period? Don't Answer that-" I roll my eyes. " ugh, I wasn't going to."
" good. No one would wanna here that shit."
This whole conversation was getting pointless.
I carry on making notes, in an awkward silence till the bell rings.
Before I could escape out of the door he grabbed my arm.
" w-what the hell are you doing? " I hissed at him.
He shrugged. " I forgot.. what is your name? "
I stare blankly at him.
" what?"
He stares at me.
" What's your name?" He repeats slowly, sounding as if his patience is beginning to disappear.
The teacher broke us up to let everyone out of the classroom.
" alright move along, you two love birds get a room! And not in the classroom! "
My cheeks flushed. I rushed out of the classroom leaving him standing alone.

Night 2
Along the winding corridors of the girls dorm I found myself thinking about the blonde haired boy. Come to think of it, I didn't know what his name was either. Maybe I should of asked him. Either way, I could always tell him mine and ask him his another time since I'm sure id see him again some time soon. Just as I rounded the corner, something caught my eye. I saw Luka behind the girl from earlier with his arms tightly wrapped around her. He appeared to be kissing her neck in such a way, like he hadn't eaten in days, much like he was ravenous! Then he opened his mouth, and set of sharp fangs began to protrude from his gum and in to her neck. The girl let out a whimper.
I pulled myself back around the corner out of their sight, not daring to breath Incase he heard me. I was pressed flat against the wall contemplating what I had just witnessed. And now everything suddenly made sense, the odd behaviour, the school schedule, why those guys weren't in lunch, Luka pinning me menacingly to the wall, I was gonna...we were gonna be their lunch. I held my hand to my mouth in horror to stop myself from making any noise. I felt sick to my stomach. Was Edna,my fathers new bride... a vampire too?
