Tei gritted his teeth, glaring fiercely at Konan. His voice was like a knife cutting through the air, sharp and filled with resentment.
Konan glanced lightly at Tei, who seemed like a trapped beast. Seeing him bleeding from his arm, a hint of compassion flashed in her eyes.
However, as soon as she thought about the innocent civilians Tei had killed, Konan steeled her resolve.
"Give up; today, you're doomed. Have you ever thought about the lives of those people you killed? Did you expect to escape justice?"
Konan's voice reached Tei's ears, shattering his last bit of hope.
He knew he wouldn't leave here alive today.
Since that was the case, they should prepare for bloodshed!
Tei swept a fierce look at Wang Ran and the others, enduring the pain as he rapidly formed hand seals.
"Earth Release, Earth Dragon Bullets!"
The ground trembled as a dragon-shaped mass of soil appeared, continuously shooting high-speed mud bullets towards Konan.
Konan, flapping the paper wings on her back, swiftly dodged in mid-air.
However, there were just too many Earth Dragon Bullets.
Even though Konan skillfully evaded in the sky, there were still many mud bullets she couldn't avoid.
Anticipating this, Konan had already formed seals when the Earth Dragon Bullets appeared, creating several paper shields around her.
Those mud bullets she couldn't dodge all hit the paper shields, leaving just a light imprint before falling to the ground.
Konan named this technique "Shikigami no Mai: Paper Shield."
It was destined to become one of Konan's signature jutsu in the future. Although, due to her current lack of strength, the sturdiness of the paper shields wasn't at its peak, they already showed their powerful potential.
After using this jutsu, Tei, seeing that the Earth Dragon Bullets hadn't harmed Konan, couldn't help but feel a twinge of sorrow in his eyes.
This jutsu was the most powerful long-range attack in his arsenal, and yet, it had no effect.
However, he wasn't someone easily discouraged.
If it didn't work the first time, he would try a second time.
Once again, Tei formed hand seals, and the Earth Dragon Bullets jutsu was unleashed.
However, this time, Konan wasn't just defensively evading. In the intervals while dodging, she formed hand seals again.
The Shadow Clone Jutsu using paper shurikens was also executed, launching a relentless attack towards Tei.
Earth Dragon Bullets and paper shurikens danced in the air. Occasionally, they collided, canceling out each other's power and dissipating together in the sky.
Tei, anticipating the paper shurikens flying towards him, was well-prepared.
"Earth Release, Earth Flow Wall!"
A wall of earth stood in front of Tei, blocking the paper shurikens. In the instant it blocked the shurikens, Tei quickly propelled himself backward.
Sure enough, the next second, a paper spear deeply plunged into the ground where Tei had been standing.
The entire paper spear had completely submerged into the earth, showcasing the jutsu's power.
Tei, who initially wanted to use his strategy again on Konan, saw that his plan had failed, and a hint of disappointment flashed in his eyes.
However, he instantly cast aside his disappointment. Now was not the time for wishful thinking. Indeed, having dodged his attack, Tei took advantage of Konan's momentary distraction.
"Lightning Release, False Darkness!"
This jutsu was one of Tei's few Lightning Release techniques. It was a trophy from his battles with Lightning Country ninja back when he was still in the Iwa-nin Explosive Corps.
Back then, he learned it just for fun, during moments of boredom, never expecting it to be useful in today's battle.
It was the only hidden card he had kept for this fight, intending to catch Konan off guard and kill her unexpectedly.
Tei's mouth opened, and in an instant, a lightning bolt struck towards Konan.
The speed was so fast that Konan couldn't react in time and was engulfed by the lightning.
"Konan!"
On the sidelines, Yahiko and Nagato shouted in panic at Konan's name.
Without hesitation, the two were ready to rush into the battlefield.
However, Asahi roared, "What's the rush! Pay attention; Konan's moves are quite something in this wave."
Sure enough, upon hearing Asahi's voice, the two calmed down instantly.
If Asahi said that Konan's performance was fine, then at least it meant Konan wasn't in danger.
Tei, who was currently sparring with Konan, also heard Yahiko and Nagato's exclamations.
Looking up at Konan, who had seemingly been engulfed by lightning, Tei couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"Haha! Little brat, let's see if you can be arrogant now! Hahaha... Ugh!"
Tei's laughter abruptly stopped because, as the lightning dissipated around Konan, the figure left on the ground wasn't a charred corpse, as he had imagined. On the contrary, as the lightning vanished, it revealed Konan enveloped in her paper wings.

The paper wings quickly unfolded, presenting Konan, unscathed, in front of everyone.
Yahiko and Nagato burst into uncontrollable laughter on the sidelines.
As it turned out, just before the False Darkness was about to strike her, Konan swiftly wrapped herself in the paper wings.
Then, from within, she used chakra to insulate herself from the lightning's harm.
Simultaneously, losing the support of her wings' propulsion, Konan rapidly descended to the ground.
What's paper made from? Wood. And, under the light rain that fell at this moment, Konan's paper wings, crafted from numerous folded sheets, had conductivity properties approaching that of wood.
As everyone knew, wood conducts electricity. With Konan landing swiftly, the lightning attached to her wings was instantly grounded.
Though she shielded herself with chakra to isolate the damage from the lightning release, Konan had still suffered significant depletion.
However, she emerged completely unharmed in the end.
Swiftly flapping her wings, Konan ascended into the air once again.
With the lessons learned from the previous encounter, she would undoubtedly be cautious of Tei's lightning release.
It was too dangerous; a slight oversight just now, and she might have reunited with her parents in the afterlife.
"How could this happen!"
Watching Konan ascend again, Tei exclaimed in a somewhat desperate tone.
He never expected Konan's on-the-spot reaction ability to be this strong.
In the air, Konan's face appeared somewhat pale due to the substantial chakra consumption.
"Little brat, don't think you're safe just because you dodged this time. You won't have such a good opportunity next time!"
With the failure of his last trump card, the chances of killing Konan became increasingly slim.
Facing a threat to his life, Tei couldn't maintain his composure any longer. He hysterically shouted at Konan, venting his emotions.
"I won't give you another chance. Next, I'll unleash the most powerful attack I developed under my master's guidance!"
