Chapter 3: Darkness within Light

"No its …. its a lie!" Phineas screamed.
"As long as there is light there will always be darkness" Hatred sighed.
"You guys just find out about this? I don't care... only the strong survive." David laughed.
In a moment of anger, Phineas ran aimlessly at David with his fist out ready for action. The Senses watched.
"Zing- Zang: Frostbite." David commanded.
Marco thought to himself, "He's been through a lot making him a person's Zing-Zang elemental abilities represents their personality."
As Phineas' was about to connect with David's chin his arm froze with ice leeching onto his skin. Phineas was shocked. David smiled as he lifted his leg to roundhouse kick Phineas. Phineas went flying. Vincent got up from the ground and his attitude and his actions changed.
"Weaponized Uri: Salamander Blade!"
A sword appeared with dragon scales building up to the tip of the blade. David used Frostbite to build a sword of ice. They charged at each other.
"Boss, should we stop them?" Sarah asked.
"Let's see how it turns out." Marco replied.
In a deep tone, Hatred said, "Stop."
Marco looked at Hatred, Hatred looked back with a bland expression. Jeremy laughed. No one knew why.
"What's the plan?" Jeremy asked.
"Complete your exams and we'll be in touch." Marco answered.
Hatred looked at Phineas, who knew they were all different but something stood out about Phineas. Phineas had a heart but he didn't know when to use it.
"I'll go witg the unconscious kid." Hatred said.
The Senses mutually agreed he could do what he wanted. Hatred put his hand on his head using the ability Dear Diary. He could read emotions and reasoning like a diary.
One night, my brother went outside after dinner. He said he'd be back at exactly 11:30. I fell asleep at 11. I woke up at midnight, having to go to the bathroom. Strange enough, My Brother's room...the door was wide open. I peeked inside, and he wasn't there. I got very worried. I ran to my mum's room and woke her up telling her my brother wasn't there. At first, she was mad. Very mad. She texted him and called him, but there came no response. The downstairs door opened, we didn't know if it was my uncle or brother. Before my brother left he smiled at me telling me to be Universe's Child, I didn't know what he meant. That was the first and last time I saw him smile. We rushed downstairs to see who it was, and my uncle was crying. He just got off work, and on the way, witnessed the most horrifying thing. We took a walk so he could show us what he'd seen. Then, halfway between our house and My uncle's work, there was my brother. Hanging. He'd tied a rope to a sturdy tree branch and...hung himself. I cried for YEARS COULDN'T and couldn't sleep. And now, 7 years later, I wish I could've stopped him. I still want to do the same to myself now, mother became even more distant after he died, but My Mum and Uncle would feel that same pain on me the same as my brother.
Phineas awoke, Hatred knew his past but he couldn't shed a tear as much as he wanted to.
"Where am I? Where is David? What happened?" Phineas asked.
"You tried to fight him, you lost." Hatred responded.
"I don't have Zing-Zang, he's naturally stronger than me all of them" Phineas sighed
Hatred quickly responded "That's a poor excuse, you must master all the types of Uri"
"I only know Muri, what are the other types?" Phineas asked.
"Auri, the life force of the animal ability to use animals, and once the ability is mastered you have the ability of the animal without using the animal in choice. Puri hardens each attack you throw whether it be a sword or your fist when mastered it's ... scary. Curi being able to read people and their movements predict once mastered you can warp through time an ability only Wither, the Watchlord, and The East Explorer Leader has been seen using although unlike Zing-Zang there are unlimited techniques you can master with Uri."
"How will I achieve such immense power?" Phineas asked.
"Welcome to Senses Training as we speak Marco of Sight is with Vincent, Wither of Touch is with Jeremy, Sarah of Sound is with David. Timothy of Taste is in the Kitchen along with Marlon ." Hatred explained.
"My exams are tomorrow!" Phineas exclaimed.
Hatred knocks him out cold ready for tomorrow.
"Marco!" Marlon exclaimed.
"What is it?" Marco asked.
"The Aces of Spades have been traveling frequently to the western border," Marlon explained.
The Western border and its territory were destroyed in the Battle of the Frost War. It is very uncommon for people outside the Explorer association to visit such a place. The Aces of Spades were yet to reveal their cards and yet Marco was suspicious, It was a sign of things to come for Explorers and The Senses.
