Chapter 10: Chpater 9

When Andras had walked out of the Pool Area holding in his arms the fragile deathly pale woman whose wet body pressing against his shirt seemed to not matter to him at all, all the previously observing killers that were in the observation room, couldn't help but question the scene they were witnessing at that moment. However, with a single look on Andras's face, nobody dared to bring forth their questions. They valued their life, and they had worked under the Master for long enough to be able to know when it was okay to approach and when it wasn't. With his aura of killing intent not calming, he sternly said, "Someone take care of the inside." Everyone could guess that Jasper was not in an all well condition if the Master had gone in personally. One of the killers taking pity on Jasper went into the Pool Area while Andras had already gone into his office shutting it with a loud bang, declaring that no one was to enter.

Andras laid Mallori on the sofa in his office ignoring the fact that her wet clothes had started to seep into the sofa. Her hair was dripping wet and so was her body. She was trembling due to the coldness in her body. Andras slightly hesitated as he reached for her thin dress that was stuck to her skin like another layer of skin, knowing she had refused the last time he had tried to undress her, however, that was before she had truly decided to become his. She was currently in such condition due to his wanting of validating her statement of her being his. Gazing at her closed eyes and her paling face, Andras could feel that if left to be, her waltz with death was close. But, for once rather than wanting to shorten the death period, he wanted to avoid it. How long had it been since he had wanted someone to live? A picture of two smiling faces as they bled out on the ground appeared in Andras's head, but he shook it off and refocused his attention on Mallori.

He slowly and gently unbuttoned the three buttons on the top of the dress. Then while holding her in a sitting position, he removed the dress from her body coming face to face with her bare wet body. She was wearing no undergarments whatsoever, he used the blanket placed under the sofa that he used from time to time in order to take naps in his office to dry her body. He could feel his wanting for her increasing and as he continued to dry her body, he etched every curve of her body in his brain. The first thing that had not escaped his eyes and was actually the first thing that came into his view was the birthmark that stretched from the lower of her left shoulder and diagonally went all the way to her chest stopping right above her left peak. As he reached the birthmark, he dried it with extra caution as it looked like a scar more than a birthmark.

He took off his jacket and put it on her which covered her bare body once more. On top of her, he laid on the extra blanket which was dry. Not really knowing what he should do with her wet long hair, he lightly squeezed out the excess water out of them and then rolled it up and placed it on top of her head making it look like a bun. Looking at how Mallori looked like now laying on his sofa, he couldn't help, but internally scream to himself, "Why did you have to go so overboard? Just look at her now. Do you think it was worth it?" There was only silence in his head for a mere seconds before a soft voice within him replied, "It was. She really is yours now. She wants to be yours." A warm smile found its way on his face.

Suddenly, he noticed that Mallori's breathing pace had become quicker as if she seemed to be panting. He reached down to her temple and felt her temperature. Just as he had expected, she was burning up. Knowing that she would be able to recover better at his house, with the blanket still wrapped around her, she was carried out of his office and laid down in the backseat of his car. Before starting the engine and driving off, Andras dialed a number on his cellphone and the call was picked up on the first ring, Andras only said, "Come" before hanging up and driving off.

Laying on the bed was Mallori who had been changed into pants and a shirt by Andras for the sake of comfortability along with the fact that it was rather distracting to him having to look at her naked body while trying his best to keep himself away. His self-control was being tested in many ways. When his cell phone rang, he directly picked it up and said, "Up, last room, open." And hung up once again. In less than one minute, a middle-aged man entered the room slowly and carefully walked up to Andras who was calmly sitting on the sofa with his attention focused on Mallori.

The man dared not speak first in presence of Andras, he quietly stood there till he spoke, "Doctor, her" As quickly as his mind processed the words, he wasted no time and went towards the bed where Mallori laid. He quickly took out his medical instruments from the white suitcase he was pulling behind him and started to examine her. After a few minutes when he was done with his examination, he reported to Andras, "It's a high fever, she will be fine after a few days of rest and care along with medicine." Hearing Mallori still breathing in and out painfully in her sleep and the precipitation that had formed on her temple, Andras glared at the doctor. The doctor's heart started beating faster out of fear for his life and replied, "I can give her something stronger to quicken it." He nodded his head in approval. His breathing starting again, the doctor quickly, but carefully administrated the drug.

When he was done he added, "This might be a bit painful to her though, she looks a bit too weak for her simple condition." Suddenly Andras's eyes widened, but it quickly turned normal before the doctor could register it. Slowly Andras's killing aura filled the room as he asked the doctor in a low tone, "Shouldn't you have informed me first of that before giving her the drug?" The doctor's breath caught in his throat and he stuttered as he said, "I..I.. would … have..but…but…I..I.. apolgi..apologize." Feeling satisfied with the fear that was flowing out of the doctor like a stream, Andras waved his hand and decided to let it go. Feeling relieved the doctor breathed a sigh of relief and then asked, "Should I do a check up on her?" It had come to his attention that this woman on the bed was of some importance to Master Mabuz that is why he had decided to inquire further. Generally, he would only be called over to make sure that a person lasted a while longer than he would normally. However, this time he had actually been called personally by Master Mabuz to examine a woman with a rather high fever and had almost been killed just because he had mentioned that it involved a bit of pain. They usually even did not hear him when he talked about the people he was examining. There was something more to this. He was curious, but not enough to be willing to die. That was why rather than questioning the presence of the woman, he had decided to simply feign ignorance and continue his role as a doctor.

Looking over Mallori's small frame and rather a thin body, Andras nodded his head a positive and the doctor started with his checkup. After taking a blood sample, the doctor started with the small physical examination, but of course this time he first asked for Master Mabuz's permission before checking the woman's overall body development and such. Then when he saw Mallori's birthmark his focus stayed there as he thought about where he had seen such a mark before. When he had finally put his finger on it, he dismissed what he had thought and did not voice his connection. Andras did notice the doctor's attention to Mallori's birthmark but dismissed it as the doctor moved on quickly not giving Andras a chance to question him about it.

The doctor left Andras with a few bottles of medicine before informing him that he would be back in an hour to give the results of the checkup after checking the blood sample. Andras told him that he should come up directly when he comes in an hour without bothering to call him.

During that one hour before the doctor's return, Andras laid down next to Mallori on the bed and watched her sleeping face and took note of how her breathing had become more regular. That drug really did work fast. He caressed her cheek gently until he found himself playing with her now damp hair, marveling at its softness even in its damp form.

An hour passed quickly and the doctor returned as promised exactly within an hour. However, the doctor's complexion was rather odd and it felt as though he had discovered something he shouldn't have. Noticing that Andras had either ignored his presence or either was too entranced by the beauty in his arms, the doctor had no option than to clear his throat to grab his attention. Andras, not wanting to look away from Mallori even for a second did not even look at the doctor's way as he asked, "Results?" The doctor hesitated. Noticing the hesitation, a tang of worriedness came upon Andras's heart as he thought maybe the results of the check-up were not favorable. He glared towards the already paling doctor who was starting to visibly sweat and asked again, "Results?" That tone pronounced that he was not going to repeat himself again.

The doctor shut his eyes and taking a deep breath said, "Her blood is…odd."

"Odd?" questioned Andras seeking an explanation.

"More than odd it is unique. I have seen it only within a certain family."

Andras could guess what certain family the doctor was referring to, but what he didn't expect was what the doctor said next.

"As I am that family's personal private doctor, I took the liberty of comparing the blood with the old Madam of the Mallory family. " The doctor paused and then continued with another deep breath, "The blood shows a relationship close to that of this lady being the granddaughter of the old Madam." Although Andras had expected Mallori to be related to the old Madam and the old Mallory family somehow, he hadn't quite expected Mallori to be a direct heir of the old Madam by being her granddaughter. He had thought that the doctor had said all he had wanted to say and was about to dismiss him when he continued, "But,…. This blood is the most condensed I have ever seen in the Mallory family even more than the deceased old Madam of the Mallory family."

Andras not fully understanding what the doctor meant and why such a thing was even important was about o ask further when suddenly Mallori who was still in his arms suddenly sat up with her eyes wide open and looked at the doctor she had never seen before in her life and asked, "Old Madam dead?" instinctively the doctor had nodded a yes before Andras had had a chance to stop the doctor from answering her.

Mallori gasped in shock and she started trembling as she covered her mouth with her hands. Fearing for her well being or thinking that maybe her fever had suddenly gotten worse, Andras felt her temple, but she had a fever in the same normal range as before when she was sleeping in his arms. Knowing that the trembling was due to the news of her grandmother's death, Andras held Mallori in his embrace not caring one bit that the doctor was still standing there, and gently whispered in her ear, "It's ok. Your grandmother is in a better place now." That is what people usually say when someone is mourning someone is what Andras thought as he tried to comfort Mallori. It was the first time he had ever attempted to do such a thing for anyone. However, hearing his words Mallori knitted her eyebrows together in confusion and breaking the embrace looked at Andras's momentarily soft grey eyes and asked, "Grandmother? Old Madam? Old Madam, not grandmother."

Andras looked at the doctor in confusion and he defended himself, "I swear on my beloved life that the results prove that she really is the granddaughter of old Madam, I would never try to lie or trick you Master Mabuz!" Andras nodded in acknowledgment of his words before turning his gaze back on Mallori and asking internally, "Just what is going on here?"
