Chapter 56: C53 Mia

As of this chapter, the patreòn is 6 chapter ahead at chapter 58. I'll probably be writing and posting some more chapters for patrons today. Also there are 4 chapters of the Naruto story on the patreòn as well.

You open your eyes to an unfamiliar room. Moving around you notice that your chained by the leg to the center of the room. You feel a stabbing pain in your left thigh and something strapped to your neck, but before you can check it, a TV in the room turns on. On the TV is a doll with black hair, white skin, red lips, and red swirls on each cheek.
"Hello, Do you want to play a game?" The doll asks. You have no idea what to say, so you simply sit there stunned. "The game is quite simple. I've cut open your leg and placed some power stones inside of it. I then stitched your leg back up, and placed a small bomb around your neck. Are you following me so far? Good. The collar around your neck is locked, and will only open with the insertion of power stones. Somewhere in the room is a scalpel. You have 20 minutes before the bomb explodes. Enjoy the chapter!"
The standoff between the two sides didn't last long, as the livid spider pounces forward. It dashed straight towards the cute Lamia and pulled back its sharp-pointed legs. As the black widow appeared in front of the cute Lamia, the bear beside the her clawed the spider knocking it away from the Lamia. Five claw marks appear on the spider's body, as it is sent barreling backward from where it came. The bear and the owl form up in front of the Lamia to protect her.
"We'll handle this, Your Excellency. You sit back and watch as we tear these traitors apart." The owl says as it glares dangerously at its newfound enemy's.
"Yeah, don't worry we'll take care of this!" The bear exclaims in agreement. The Lamia looks dissatisfied and goes to speak, but I cut her off before she can get a word out.
"Hey, cute Lamia!" I yell drawing her attention and everyone else's. "Come sit with me. It seems your subordinates wish to handle this themselves." I say from my armchair as I throw some fries in my mouth. "Hmm, these need ketchup. I'll have to get the kitchen staff working on that next."
She seems to ponder her options and decided to trust in her subordinates. She slithers her way towards me, and Souei gets a chair for her to sit on. The chair wasn't big enough for her, as she has a long snake body instead of legs, so we replaced the chair with a couch. I offer her some of my fries, and she hesitantly starts munching on the salty goodness. A surprised smile appears on her face, as she starts eating my fries faster than me.
While we were enjoying ourselves, the traitors of the group were getting angrier and angrier. The beast that they put all of their faith in is fraternizing with a human right before their eyes. The owl and bear started laughing at their ruler's behavior.
"STOP LAUGHING! This isn't funny." The spider yells.
"This is so disappointing." The crocodile shakes its head with a disgusted look on its face.
"Enough talking. Time for you traitors to die!" The bear says and dashes at the crocodile with speed a normal bear just doesn't have.
"Yes, I agree. It's time to end this." The owl flaps its wings and takes to the sky at an incredible speed. It then swoops down at the spider with outstretched claws. The claws themselves seem to be covered in compressed wind that extends their reach.
The red bear is the first to strike as fire coats its claws, and it swings out in a slashing motion at the crocodile. The crocodile doesn't even try to dodge as the claws hit its leathery skin. The bear's claws don't cut too deep, as the crocodile's skin is very tough. Although a burn mark does appear around the wound.
After the bear's attack, the crocodile sees its chance and snaps its jaws at the bear's outstretched leg. Its teeth glow with white light as it chomps down at the bear's leg. When the bear sees this turn of events, he pulls his leg away as quickly as physically possible. He was just fast enough as the guillotine-like teeth trimmed the bear's claws.
As the owl swoops down at incredible speed, it appears above the spider with it's clawed feet open wide. The spider seeing this stabs upward at the oncoming owl with one of its pointed spear-like legs. When the owl saw this on coming attack, it changed its trajectory and aimed both of its open clawed feet at the spiders extended leg. As it swooped down, the owl grabbed hold of the outstretched spider leg. It then squeezed the leg with its wind clad feet and cut it off the spider. With one of its legs severed the now seven-legged spider screamed in pain and agony.
"YOU SHITTY BIRD! Get back here this instant!" It yells in its shrill ear-piercing voice.
"Haha, are you still considered a spider with only seven legs?" The one taunts as it flies away with the spider's leg still in its clutches.
While watching the fight, I turn my attention to the Lamia beside me.
"Hey, what's your name? I'm Syrin." I ask and introduce myself.
"I don't have one." She answers as she turns her attention away from the battle. "Naming your children isss a human thing to do."
"Huh, can I give you a name then?" I offer.
"If it will make it easssier for you then yesss." She answers with her cute snake lisp.
"Hmm, How about Mia. It's simple and sounds good." I say and she doesn't seem to hate it.
"Mia..." She tests out her new name. "I like it. From now on I'm Mia." She says with a small smile on her lips.
"Good, I'm glad that you like it, so what did you do to become the ruler of the beast herd?" I ask as the battle intensifies in front of us. Ouch, the spider just lost another leg. That's gotta be painful.
"I didn't do anything. I wass passsing through and sssaw the herd forming. They ssstarted following me and calling me their ruler." She explained.
"That's weird. Why did they just randomly start pledging their loyalty to you like that?" I ask with a puzzled expression.
"The world of core beasssts iss different than your human world. We tend to sseek sshelter with higher-ranked beasssts. When I wass weaker, I would cozy up to higher ranked beasssts asss well." Mia explains.
"Huh, Humans are similar to that too, but we don't usually follow people so blindly. I mean humans can be sheep sometimes, but usually they don't act that way just because another person is stronger." I think out loud. Mia just nods her head next to me while eating my fries. "How did you get those two to follow you in the first place?" I ask.
"You may not believe thiss, but they were very devoted to me in the beginning." She says as she watches the fight in front of us. The spider has already lost three of its legs, and the crocodile has scratches and burn marks all over its body.
"What changed?" I ask as I stuff some more fries in my mouth. "Souei, can you get us some drinks please?" He disappears and reappears with two glasses of iced tea. "Thanks." I say as Mia and I take the drinks.
"When they firssst met me I didn't have thisss human half." She says as she sips the iced tea. Her eyes widen slightly and she takes another sip. "I wasss jusst a ssnake back then, but asss I get closer to the legend rank my body hasss been sslowly changing. When I sstarted looking like a human, many of my ssubordinatesss sstarted looking at me sstrangely and whisspering behind my back. Thossse two have been quessstioning every decisssion I make ever sssince my body hass changed. Thisss ugly human half hass been ruining my life." She says dejectedly.
"Huh, I think your human half is quite good looking, so don't listen to those that can't see just how beautiful you really are."
