Chapter 9: Ysgramor ( 2 )

As Miraak slowly woke up, he saw the crowd around the arena glaring at him weirdly while Ysgramor was still shocked about the whole situation.

'... What happened?!' He thought but soon noticed his still recovering Magicka.

'Did I faint from Magicka exhaustion?... Oh right... I'm still a child...' Miraak continued thinking as he remembered he only had about, in numbers, a total of 150 of Magicka. It was ridiculously low for someone like him who used Master spells like breathing in his prime.

'... I need to, somehow, enhance it...' he thought as he finally stood up.

As he was about to say something, Ysgramor suddenly woke up and said smiling like he found a long lost friend, "... I surrender."

Staring at him, Miraak just shrugged his shoulders as they returned to the Leaders tent.

As the crowd saw the leaders returning, they soon started leaving.

"... Unbelievable." A warrior said still slightly confused.

"Although we don't know if the child would win... Looks like Ysgramor surrendered to pay respect for a future stronger ally?" Another warrior said as they left.

...

Closing the tent, Aron asked Miraak, "So? What happened?"

Since they're not experts on the Arcane, they didn't felt or saw Miraak's Magicka pool emptying.

Although Dragon Priests use Magic, he was still a soon-to-be one, he wasn't one yet.

Saying that he was using Magic before being a Dragon Priest would be like saying that he trained on the Arcane before becoming a Priest, conflicting with their culture.

So, until he became officially a Dragon Priest, Miraak will hide the fact.

Since the leaders already knew about the Snow Elves and the earlier encounter with Aumriel, Miraak used it for his benefit.

"I'm still tired from the battle with the Snow Elf." He said as he slowly seated again on his chair.

"... Is that so?" Arnora said uncertainly but soon ignored it.

"Just like he said earlier, we need to build the city. The earlier, better it will be." She said to the leaders.

Every leader nodded as they started making plans.

"So... We will excavate here..."

"Let's put the beds here..."

"... How about some Dragon statues here?"

As the leaders made the plans, Miraak sighed. Standing up, he took a final glance at the plans before leaving the tent.

"Hey, Miraak." Asa, Arnora's daughter, said suddenly as she jumped in front of him.

"... What's up?" Miraak responded uninterested. After all, she was a child. What could she want that would be interesting to a 4000 old man.

"You know I have extremely good eyes, right?" Asa said smiling like she was waiting for a response.

"Ye-" He wanted to respond but Asa interrupted.

"Anyway... Bla Bla Bla... A golden door... Bla Bla Bla..." She said describing something.

'Kids... Wait...' Miraak thought annoyed but soon woke up, "Did you just say... Golden door?"

"Yes! I found some strange structures with a Golden door leading inside a mountain, south of here." Asa said repeating again.

'... Oh shit... Dwemer... I forgot about them... It's not just them... I forgot about the Nedic people too...' He thought seriously.

'Fortunately, the Ayleid Empire is not in control of Skyrim... For now, let's wait...' Miraak thought as he finally stopped daydreaming.

"... You didn't go near it, right?" He asked Asa seriously. He can't have a war with the Dwemer... yet.

"Of course not. It looked strangely intimidating." Asa responded frowning at the feeling of danger by just looking from a distance.

Sighing in relief, MIraak said, "Thank you. You can go now."

...

Entering the tent of the leaders again, Miraak saw the leaders... brawling?

"... What is going on? Why are they fighting?" Miraak asked Arnora who was watching Aron and Ysgramor punching each other.

"... It all started when Aron said he would make a bigger bed then Ysgramor. Then Ysgramor said that he would make even bigger... And so... they started to fight, I guess... Come on, Aron! I bet a horse that you will win!! Move your damn arms!!!" Arnora said shrugging her shoulders but suddenly shouted as she waved her fists to Aron.

Staring strangely at Arnora, Miraak sighed at the situation.

"... They look like savages from a distant land... Ah..." He murmured but noticed their origin and started to slightly laugh.

After almost an hour of brawling, the duo finally stopped, panting roughly.

"You're damn good..." Ysgramor said tiredly to Aron.

"... You too." Aron responded clicking his tongue.

"A draw? A Draw!? You piece of... A Draw is still a loss!! I lost a damn horse because fo you!!" Arnora shouted as she started to kick Aron.

"We need to talk seriously. Right now." Miraak suddenly said.

Stopping the kicking, Arnora clicked her tongue and seated again.

As the leaders seated again, Miraak started talking.

"... Asa found... structures made by someone with a golden door leading inside a mountain, south of here."

"... Snow Elves?" Arnora asked curiously.

":.. No, Aumriel said that they live on the ground... Not underground." Miraak shook his head as he sighed and continued, "It looks like it's another race... As long they don't disturb us, it's better if we don't disturb them."

"... Another race, huh... How many races are there in this damn land?" Aron said as he pushed his broken nose to normal.

Since Miraak didn't want to tell the truth, but he didn't want to lie, so he said, "... Looks like it's better if we prepared ourselves for an unknown number..."

"It could be just the 3 of them... Or it could be another 20 different races." He continued to each leader.

Nodding to each other in agreement, they continued with the plan for the city faster than earlier.

Standing up, Miraak took another glance at the plans.

"Project: Saarthal."
