Chapter 5: Treasure
My plans had changed with me finding a map to the world, If I had luck stat it would be SSS maps of the entire world are extremely rare and this one was clearly a treasure map. I needed to find a landmark so I could get a sense of direction, the map was treated with something so it was waterproof. Putting the paper in between my teeth I started to swim again there was a high chance that this map had blown off a nearby ship.
For another two days I swam through the empty ocean somehow I didn't encounter anybody, isn't this supposed to be the age of pirates. When the sun was setting on the second day of my swimming a large island appeared on the horizon, tired of the ocean I increased my speed reaching the island in a few minutes.
Walking out of the ocean I looked at the map based on the giant rock in the middle of the island I was somewhere in between Shell Town and Organ. The treasure was located under the water in a cave around the base of Shell Town, it seemed that the universe was giving me everything I needed.

Accepting the quest I closed the map and ventured into the forest, the sounds of animals and insects created an orchestra that echoed through the trees. After a couple of seconds of walking through the forest, I felt a pair of eyes frowning my tail blurred as it cut through the brush killing the tiger who thought it was stalking me.
Sitting on the forest floor I started to feed off of the tiger stripping the meat from the bone, my two-day long swim had drained a lot from me I even cracked open the bones to get to the marrow. I wanted to refuel and test my strength before I went to collect my treasure, resuming my walk through the forest I eventually found a clearing dotted with rocks of different sizes some larger than me.
Walking over to one of the smaller ones I easily picked it up and held it over my head, clenching my fist the rock exploded into fine shards. Rotating my arms I smiled at my strength, continuing my testing I was able to pick up a rock weighting 1 ton with little difficulty.
My tail was able to lift half that but the piercing power behind it was incredible I was able to cut through solid stone, the forest shook as I dropped my most recent workout rock to the ground. Turning around I started to walk back into the forest a bloodthirsty grin split my face as my blood lust got the better of me working out had made me hungry.
The entire forest fell quite as every creature was afraid of drawing the attention of its new apex predator. Several hours later I was in the same clearing but the ground was littered with the shattered bones of the creatures I had hunted, some were the size of elephants, cleaning off the last bone I threw it too the side before I jumped to my feet.
It was time to go collect my treasure, the forest was still silent as every creature had heard the brief mewls of pain and agony from my prey.
Diving into the water I started to swim with the map in my hands, another two days passed before a large island appeared. Diving under the water felt familiar in my home environment, with my evolved eyes I was able to see through the water like it was the middle of the day. Stopping at the base of the island I started to search for the cave for hours I swam around the island I almost thought the map was a fake before I spotted a pile of rocks that looked out of place. My intuition was correct after moving several rocks it revealed a large cave opening.
Swimming into the cave I was surprised to find that the rock looked to be carved out by something, the tunnel eventually stopped as a patch of light shined down from above. Swimming upwards I broke through the water and looked at the sight that greeted me, it was a large cave filled to the brim with gold, gems, gilded chests, and berries galore.
But my eyes were attracted to a weird fruit sitting on a golden pedestal, the fruit was divided into four different sections one was green, red, blue while the last one was white.
Jumping out of the water my footsteps kicked aside various pieces of treasure before arriving at the pedestal. There was no doubt in my mind I had found a devil fruit, and it wasn't mentioned in the anime at all now what to do with it. If I ate it I would lose my ability to swim, but the powers I could gain from it called to me if I could only know what type it is. Picking up the devil fruit a prompt appeared in front of me.

When I read the notice I immediately began to eat the devil fruit, it was only natural that one as strong as I could use the devil fruits full potential. When there was nothing left of the multicolored fruit I wiped my mouth and grimaced at the taste, nothing I had eaten so far came close to being as horrid as that I had even eaten a sea cucumber.
Shaking my head I cleared my mind before opening my status to see if anything had changed.
