Chapter 110: Cursed Creatures (1)
The place was dark, Link only had his limited field of vision to help him navigate. With each step he took, Link made no sound, having all his Stealth Skills active the moment he stepped into the Cave.
"I should have gotten a Skill that helps me see in the dark" Link muttered to himself. He thought for a bit then spoke "Zero, is there a Skill in the Shop that can do that for me?" He asked.
<Hold on… Yes. There's a Skill called 'Cat Eyes' for 4 Skill Points>
"Ok. Sell 'Float' for me. I'll buy it back later, plus it won't have any use in this fight"
<You've Leveled it up twice. Its worth 3 Skill Points by itself and you'll get your 2 Points back>

"Who writes these creative descriptions" Link sighed "So I have 1 Skill Point left?" Link asked.

"Level up 'Holy Light'" Link spoke. He is depending on that Skill, and the higher its Level, the more effects it might have.

Link activated his new 'Cat Eyes' Skill. His eyes started to slowly get thinner, becoming 2 slits in a white background. With his purple eye color, the new change made him look mysterious.
Link's vision became clearer. He could see 30 feet in front of him now, the darkness did not pose any threat, but Link noticed he could no longer see color very well. It seemed like it was a bit dimmer than usual. "This is a bit uncomfortable, but i can see in the dark so it's not a problem" Link thought to himself. He used his 'Psight' to fill in the gaps, and voila. Perfect 360 Vision with crystal clarity.
Now that everything was fine, Link started looking around. The ground was covered in Bones and Rotten flesh. Blood pools were everywhere like it rained yesterday. As Link's vision was scanning over the area. He saw them.
Three bodies, hunched over in different parts of the Cave. One was feeding on an arm. It still had some leather armor on it, though it looked rotten. But that did not bother the Creature as it took big bites off of it, chewing with disturbing sounds of crunching. The other Ghoul sat in a corner, looking at a corpse he had in front of it. Link could smell the disturbing stench from it where he was. Link saw the Ghoul playing with the maggots that covered it which made him shudder. The last Ghoul was bent over a pool of blood, taking large sips like it was some delicious beverage. Link looked at the events occurring in front of him with a disgusted frown. He could not believe such Creatures were allowed to exist.
"I have to kill these things" Link muttered, summoning his bow. He had the element of surprise, and he was going to make good use of it. Three Arrows appeared and settled themselves on the bow, Link took a deep breath, casting 'Mana Imprint' on his bow, and adding 'Holy Light' onto each Arrow. Leveling up 'Mana Imprint' to Max Level was a good choice on his part.
Wosh! Wosh! Wosh!
The Arrows flew with great speed. Each hitting its target with impressive accuracy. The Ghouls looked towards the source. As they saw Link, a disturbing grin appeared on their faces.
"Fr..esh Meat" One Ghoul spoke.
Link ignored them though, and summoned Zasho. The wolf howled loudly as an odd light started circulating Link. "Alright, let's do this" Link spoke as he cast 'Air Boost'. The Arrows that were still stuck in the Ghouls suddenly exploded in a bright light. Each Arrow finally activated the 'Mana Imprint' cast on them.
Tchhht!
Smoke rose from the Ghouls. Small bubbles were created by their flesh, each popping with a disturbing discharge of odd juices.
"It's working" Link muttered. He grabbed his new Dagger and started running towards one of the Ghouls. He yelled an order "Zasho. Keep the other two busy until i'm done" Zasho howled in response and rushed towards its threatening enemies. "Don't try to win, just buy time" Link explained.
The Ghoul Link ran towards, was smiling. It seemed happy that the fresh meat was coming to it by itself. "M..meat" It muttered with a grin on its face growing wider. The flesh on its cheeks tore as its smile grew more and more.
"I guess they really are Undead. 'Holy Light' is already having such an effect. Although it's nightmarish to look at" Link muttered. He was finally in front of the Ghoul. He stopped in his place, Link's eyes shone as he crouched, holding his dagger backwards. An illusion of a giant Viper appeared behind him. Its eyes looked exactly like Link's. "Viper Sutra" Link muttered. The Ghoul moved, opening its mouth, launching itself towards Link. "MEAT" it screamed.
The Creature was fast, surprising Link. But with 2 Speed boosts, Link dodged to the right, twisting his body and kicking the Ghoul in its chin, closing its mouth with a loud snap. "There you go. That's better" Said Link.
The Ghoul balanced itself. It glared at Link as it stood up. "Kill.." It growled, bending its back a little and jumping again. This time, its hands were swinging wildly.
Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!
Link kept deflecting each attack. Sparks flew everywhere as the two of them moved. Link was jumping backwards and defending. "Damn, I need to counter" Link thought. The Ghoul's sharp claws were frighteningly sharp, considering the marks they left behind on the ground and walls.
Link ducked, some of his hair was not fast enough, getting cut off by the tips.
Wosh! Wosh!
Link moved like a snake, but dodging was all he could do. He looked at the Creature, waiting for an opening. The Ghoul swung madly, uncaring about anything. It was like a wild animal in rage. Its skin radiated a dim red light as the flash on its cheeks was slowly healing.
"Holy Light weakened its exterior skin and slowed its healing. I have to kill this thing before Zasho loses" Link thought, he looked over at where Zasho was. The Wolf looked like it was not going to hold out for long. It kept dodging left and right, blood covered its body. Luckily it was regenerating slowly, but Link could sense that it can't hold on for much longer.
The Ghoul attacked with a wide swing. Which was what Link was waiting for. Its claws were in front of Link's face, one of them already started to dig itself in.
Wosh!
Link suddenly vanished. Appearing again right next to the Ghoul. A fist full of rings in his hand. "Got you" Link muttered. A wave of Mana sunk into the Rings. Symbols appeared all over the place. Rushing into the Ghoul's body and sinking into it.
The Ghoul looked like it sensed something and jumped back, but it was too late. Its body started sizzling and smoking like it was boiling in water. "KI..ILL" The Ghoul screamed.
"That better work, i paid a lot of money for those rings" Link muttered. The Rings were mostly containing Healing spells, while some had venom and poison attacks. Link prepared some for each Ghoul.
The Ghoul was running towards Link, but he seemed slower. Its limbs were stiff and heavy.
Link jumped back, summoning his bow and firing an Arrow with another 'Holy Light' Spell Imprinted on it. The Arrow hit its target right in its shoulder. But the Ghoul ignored the damage and kept running after Link, its eyes red as it growled loudly. Each one of its steps destroyed a chunk of the ground as it stepped with force.
"You seem in a hurry. I'll come to you then" Link said "Blink"
Tchht!
The Arrow exploded. As more damage was done. Link appeared right in front of the Ghoul. Dodging its swing and swiping at its head. Cutting a deep cut in its neck. "I gave it my all and with the Healing spells, venom and poison. The fucker is still this resilient?" Link kept blinking around the Creature, with each time he appeared his Dagger dug into its neck.
Wosh! Wosh!
The Ghoul tried to catch him but each time Link dodged and attacked it. Successfully deepening the wound with every swing.
Wosh! Wosh! Wosh!

Link was extremely happy, grabbing the body and shoving it in his Inventory and quickly jumping towards Zasho. "Holy Light" Link cast the Skill on Zasho, healing it and kicking one of the two Ghouls, sending it flying and smashing into a wall, breaking huge chunks off. The other Ghoul seeing Link next to it, smiled and opened its mouth to bite him.
Slash!
Zasho moved, sending a combo of attacks towards it. Its skin was cut all over the place as blood cascaded from each wound, but Link could tell that they were not deep and only superficial. But the attack was successful in interrupting the Ghoul's attempt to bite. "Nice work" Link complemented as he jumped towards the Ghoul near the wall. He swung his Dagger non stop, as he attacked and defended. Link Blinked everywhere while each time a Ring appeared in his hand. Casting the Spell in it on the Ghoul.
"Zero, Consume the Core of the Ghoul we killed" Link spoke as he was Blinking around.

"What is this?" Link asked.
<With everything you kill, you gain Death Energy that you can use. You have 50 from killing the Other Ghoul. Every living being gets Death Energy stuck on them after killing something for a period of time. Your skill can control that energy as it says>
"Nice" Link smiled as he dodged, Blinking to the right and using the rest of the Rings on the Ghoul. "These things are strong, if not for the debuff i would have definitely lost"
<Keep it up, you're doing really well>
Link repeated his attack pattern. He swung his Dagger with every opportunity he got.
WOSH!
The Ghoul swung his right arm, destroying the ground as it took the full hit. Rocks and dust flew everywhere. Link found nowhere to hold his footing so he Blinked backwards, but suddenly, the Ghoul was right in front of him. "I fucked up" Link muttered, holding his arms up to defend.
Boom!
Link's Dagger took the hit, but he couldn't deflect the force of the attack like he did before, he was not prepared and the strength of the hit went into him, sending him flying backwards.
Argh!
Link flew back, slamming into Zasho as they both kept flying. Slamming into the wall with great force. Link coughed a mouthful of blood, while Zasho whimpered. The armor Link had on cracked. It was the Level 3 Beast Soul armor, but it still couldn't handle one hit from the Ghoul.
Link had both his armor Beast Souls on. The Sky Turtle armor and the Ruby Python's Gloves. But he still felt like his bones broke from that attack.
"It got me" Link muttered. He looked up, seeing both Ghouls running towards him on all fours. "Damn it"
Link stood up, healing himself and Zasho. He could feel its health was nearly all gone. He did not wish to lose him. He muttered something and another Link appeared with the Level 1 Beast Soul Dagger in his hand. They both blinked into battle with Zasho behind them.
The clone did not fight, it only dodged as Link was blinking around, attacking whenever he could. Zasho kept distracting the other Ghoul, but it seemed to be bored with the wolf and tried many times to join the other fight, but Zasho always attacked and got its attention back, though with getting close to attack, Zasho suffered more damage while dealing none to the Ghoul.
Link noticed that the effects of the Rings were slowly fading. With no other choice, he used more, which he did with hesitation. "How am i going to deal with the other one?" Link frowned, but with nothing else to do, he had no other choice.
"Die you fuck" Link yelled, landing another hit on the Ghoul's neck.

Link consumed the Core instantly and jumped towards the last Ghoul.
