Chapter 3: Vilma

Walking to the venue, both Syth and the girl did not talk a single bit. Everything Syth would try to say something, his eyes would trance over the gun, and he would forget what he was trying to say while the girl simply did not want to talk to him.

It was awkward, but luckily the girl broke the silence.

"Are you going to tell me your name?" She made it sound like it was his fault for not saying his name.

"Umm.... yes. I'm Syth. What should I call you?" He asked.

"My name is Vilma Sinclar Everwood. You can just call me Vilma."

'Why are everyone's names so damn long?' While it wasn't a big issue, Syth felt inadequate for some reason.

The silence continued for another minute before Syth broke the ice.

"Vilma, what type of club are you looking to join?"

"Any, it doesn't matter, but my father wants me to join one. He said something about finding reliable friends."

"Then why don't you try Extreme Needle Development Club, I heard it was pretty good."

"You're not trying to recruit me are you?" Vilma stopped walking and faced Syth with an annoyed expression."

Syth was terrified. While he knew she wouldn't shoot him, the fear of the gun was still there. He was unable to resist her eyes which glared right through him. A voice in his head freed him.

<This god has found out who she is>

'Just tell me.'

<The Third daughter of the Everwood family, Vilma Sinclar Everwood. She has 5 brothers and a father who could kill you instantly if you try anything. Not to mention without any consequences.>

Syth gulped.

"No, I wouldn't dare do something like that… Recommend. Just Recommending. You don't need to join. I don't think its a good club anyway."

"Lead me to them. It doesn't matter which club I join anyways." Vilma continued walking while Syth began to panic.

'Ptye, what should I do?' He couldn't keep such a dangerous figure in his club else he wouldn't know when a bullet would go through his head.

<This god prays for your luck. This thing called anime is quite interesting.>

'Who the hell cares about your anime'

As they entered the gymnasium and walked up to Rodney, Syth could only hope for the best. Standing behind Vilma, he tried to signal to Rodney. He crossed his arms, and worded out "Reject Her", but Rodney didn't get the hint.

"Hey Syth, you're back. Are you okay?" Rodney had called Tilo to drag Syth away before when he passed out.

"So you were trying to recruit me?" Vilma said with a grin. It was by no means a nice one.

"I'm sorry. I only wanted the best for my fellow classmate." He said, but Syth didn't feel sorry. If he felt sorry, he would disband his club this instant.

"Then I will join."

He wanted to protest, but the words couldn't find its way out of his mouth. After jotting down her student id and registering online, Vilma left. When other recruiters went up to her, she ignored all of them and continued walking.

Only when Syth couldn't see her, did he karate chop Rodney's head in anger.

"Ow. What was that for?" Rodney felt like he was wronged.

"Do you know what the hell she is?!?"

"Yea, Vilma Everwood of the Everwood family right?"

"Wait. If you knew then why didn't you reject her?"

"If we have her in our club, the school wouldn't dare disband us."

Rodney was only correct to a certain extent. The academy gives a set amount of funds to each club for club activities. By implementing a quota for club members, the academy is able to increase the funding for larger clubs.

But it was different if certain people like Vilma were to create or join a club. Not only will the club receive more funding, but the club would also not need to meet any quota which meant Syth's club would easily have meant the quota. As long as Vilma was still in the club.

'But would the benefits overweigh my life?' Syth thought.

"What's wrong with you this morning?" Rodney asked.

"Nothing, nothing… Show me the needles." If he wanted Vilma to stay, then he would actually need to research needles.

Rodney handed thin long metal pins to Syth. They were roughly made using a silicon mold since their club couldn't afford the superior machinery. Each needle was unique in its own way. One needle even had two tails.

<This god has found information on crafting better weapons. Would you like to receive the information.>

"Yes, send it."

His head was instantly flooded with hundreds of books about blacksmithing. Unable to withstand the mental attack, Syth tipped over onto the table, dropping the needles. He was barely able to stay conscious. It was like having a brain freeze and a heat stroke at the same time.

"Syth, are you okay?"

"Yes… better than okay. Pack up everything, lets go to our club room. Quick."

"Shouldn't we recruit new members?"

"We have Vilma."

"Fine."

'Ptye, where did you get all those books? How come I didn't find them online?' While Syth only searched for an hour at most, he should have been able to find some advanced beginner books, but he couldn't find even one.

<This god is able to access all databases even if they are restricted. Do you still want to remove this god?>

'No, you're slightly more useful now.'

The overload of information contained the methods of thousands of manuals through all levels of smithing. While some came with strength requirements, Syth was sure he could use them all someday.

The clubhouse was located right next to the gymnasium. The sizes of the rooms ranged from twice the size of a dorm room to the size of a stadium. Every month, each club has to pay a certain amount to rent the room used.

This was what made a difference between a gathering and a club. Each room was equipped with a mana generator which could allow students to replenish their mana easily without waiting. The poorer rooms had level 1 mana generators while stadium-sized rooms had level 5 mana generators.

As Syth and Rodney entered their clubroom, they only had one thought in mind.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!?!"
