Chapter 46: LYCANDRA
"Selena!".
A soft voice echoed inside Selena's ears. She slowly opened her eyes and saw a magnificent wolf laying in the crystal snow.
"You again!". She was surprised to see the white wolf. "Can you please tell me what is your name?".
"Lycandra".
'Lycandra'. Selena repeated her name by mumbling to herself. "Are you my wolf?". She asked her directly with anticipation. She wants to clarify things and make an end to all of her questions, if she is her wolf or not.
"Yes I am!..... And I've been waiting for you for a long time". She said with a tired voice.
Selena almost cried of happiness knowing she have a wolf inside her like Luke. She have hope now. But she suddenly noticed how weak she was.
"Lycandra what's wrong, are you sick?". It made her worry.
"No my little one, I'm not sick, just very weak. I've been hiding inside of you for a long time I thought you will never going to wake me up". Lycandra said sadly to her.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know". Selena lowered her head. She can feel all her sadness. Just like her before in the orphanage alone and lonely.
"It's okay my dear Selena now we know each other we are now one. But I cannot shift physically for you. I am too weak. Please wait till I become strong again. But for now I will lend you my power so that you can protect yourself and our body". Lycandra's voice shows a warm and caring tone. A hint of happiness emits on her face.
Selena had a puzzle look on her face. She remembered her abilities that she keeps on using when she discovered it when she was young. She felt a bit guilty.
"Lycandra, did you get weak because I used a lot of your powers?". She asked with worries.
"No young one, the ability you are using is just a small part of what we can do if we merge together but that may happen after I get my strength back". She speaks like talking to a silly little girl.
Selena felt relieved when she heard that she's not the cause of her suffering. She bit herself when a sudden question pop inside her head. Her cheeks suddenly turned red.
Lycandra saw her human blushed and she knows the reason, the same reason she woke up. Love.
"If he can wait, you can be with him for the rest of your life". She said with a teasing smile on her lips.
Selena was surprised. Lycandra knows what she was thinking. But she tried to hide her embarrassment by also teasing her wolf. "Luke has his own wolf inside him, don't you like him?". She said while pouting.
"Of course, Lucas is very handsome and strong but a bit grumpy". She slowly wag her tail. "I know they will wait for us because the Moon Goddess made them just for us we only have to wait for the right time".
Selena understood what she was saying. In her mind, everything is clear now. The reason of her not turning that night doesn't mean that she have no wolf, Lycandra is only weak. When the right time comes and they become as one. She will mark her mate with all of her heart.
"Lycandra I have one more question".
"Go ahead my little one".
"Back before we were attacked I saw a vision of rogues coming to Stronghold Village.... Am I a psychic?". Selena is very curious about what she saw that day. She wants to know if this is also a part of her ability.
"No my little one. It was the child's premonition and you just shared her vision because she lets you see what she sees. She trusted you the most". She explained to her carefully.
"Rice?..... She's a psychic?". Selena was amazed. A small girl with a great ability. But then again a sad part hit her. She knows how the Shadow Claw treat the little girl indifferently.
"She's a very special child. They call her ability as visionary. But I believed the Pack she's with right now have no knowledge about it. You need to help her but you have to be careful. With her ability a lot of people or Pack will be interested in her. She is open to all danger". As if Lycandra can read what's on her mind.
Selena fell into a deep thought. She was thinking about Rice ability and the possible danger she must face. She's very young for this kind of stuff. She sighed. What she learned today is too much for her to handle. Plus the fact that she have no idea who to turn to for this kind of matter. "Luke!". She mumbled his name. She remembered the only person she can trust with her life.
"Selena I need to rest. But don't worry I will be there everytime you need me. I will teach you other things like the power of the elements next time but what I want you to learn is to widen your divine consciousness".
"My what?". She was puzzled.
"It is a power to use the wind and the earth to see living things within a mile. You can feel them like almost seeing them in your subconsciousness".
"How am I going to do that?".
"You will learn about it someday just like how you learned your first ability".
"But Lycandra I..."
A loud BAM woke her up.
"What was that?".
Selena was startled as she mumbled the word. She sat on her bed hugging her blanket in confusion. But then suddenly she remembered her dream or it wasn't really a dream. Her wolf just visited her and the best part was Lycandra talked to her. It put a smile on her lips.
A sudden knock on the door bothered her sweet moment. Then it slowly swung open.
"Are you awake, sorry about that!". Avery was smiling shyly.
"What happened?". Selena curiously asked her.
"I was moving something.... Actually it's a big box and it dropped.... Really sorry!". She didn't even moved from the entrance of the door while explaining.
"It's okay". Selena looked outside the window and saw that the sun already set. "I think I overslept anyway". She smiled at Avery after saying it.
"Do you want to have breakfast now?".
Selena shook her head. She decided to see Luke first. "No I'm fine.... I'll go see Luke first". Then jumped down at her bed. She tried to run fast to the bathroom.
"Oh..... Well Luke is having a meeting in the tower and I'm not sure how long it will take". Avery's eyes are following her every move with a hint of smile on her face. Hearing Selena wants to see her son first gave her a good vibes.
"Oh, I see". Selena halted for a moment. "I'll just wait for him then". Then she hurriedly run to the bathroom again.
"Okay!". Avery nod her head with a positive vibe. "Then go take a shower and sorry again". Then she closed the door gently.
Selena smiled at Avery as she closed the door. She took her advice diligently.
