Chapter 32: Sixteenth Vow: First Sign II

"Yeah, that's the guy. I actually didn't know he did drugs when we were still in a relationship." Grace stood up. "You go ask Victor when you see him. Listen to his explanation."

Catherine hummed. "Should I tell Grey?" Grace contemplated. "Try telling him subtly, try to see his reaction."

"Now, go make us breakfast, I'm hungry." Peanut, their dog, pounced on her. She was staying at the other room. "Hello Peanut! Mom misses you very much." The brunette kissed her multiple times.

"Did you miss me? Hm? Did you?" She hugged the creature tightly. Nothing could ever bring true happiness like a dog.

She got up and made breakfast for Grace and Peanut. At the back of her mind, she needs to settle things with Victor. Even when they weren't a thing, he had no right to mess with her personal belongings.

In the past, it was okay because she was aware but it changes a lot of things between them now. 'He went from sweet and tender to full-blown psycho.' She did her best to see the best in him because she knows him more than anyone.

Or did she?

On Grey' end, he just woke up. He let himself sleep an extra hour as a job well done in handling the proposal. He dialed Catherine's number.

"Hello Cathy." He stretched his right arm. "Hey, Grey…" He heard clacking sounds of kitchenware. "You cooking?" She hummed. "What's up?"

"I just called to check up on you. Good thing Rovanovich kept his word."

"What word? What did you say to him?"

"I told him to make sure he returns you in one piece or I'll burn his house down to ashes if not." Catherine chuckled. "That's pretty harsh Kingsley."

"Nothing short of payback Obelia." He headed to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. "What happened yesterday? If you answer 'nothing too special' I will go there, just you wait." He playfully warned her.

Catherine taunted him. "You're right, nothing too special."

"Obelia…"

"That aside, have you ever deleted a message from your ex-girlfriend's phone?" He went silent for a few seconds. "No, I haven't. Why? Did Rovanovich mess with your phone?"

'How can he guess so accurately? It's scary.'

"No, not me. Grace wanted to see if it was a guy thing. You know, jealousy and all that." She continued. "Well I can't really say something about it since I never had one from the start."

Grey laughed. "Good thing, I'm the first then."

"Keep wishing Kingsley."

"Just say yes already Obelia."

"You know going back to that, I would probably delete it if he'll bring future problems. You know like he would act all nice but all he wants is to involve you in his shitty life. Something within those lines." Grey explained.

"Really? And would you let her know?"

"Depends, if I don't forget about it." Catherine sighed in relief. She was worried all for nothing. 'Maybe Victor felt the same way, he just forgot to tell me.'

"I'll hang up now. Go and eat breakfast Grey."

"Yes love." She stared at her phone for a while before putting it on top of the table. 'I should invest in buying myself a new phone.'
