Chapter 3: 3.
Daniel:
I put my books in my locker when I felt a pair of hands cover my eye. Oh no! So this is how I'm gonna die?. I started panicking then I heard a chuckle. It was familiar. I removed the hands and came face to face with no other than my best friend Sophia.
'Don't do stuff like that', I said closing my locker but she just laughed more. I gave her a serious look, she immediately stopped laughing. 'I'm sorry', she said extending to hug me. I hugged her back. The bell rang and we walked to our different classes. The teacher walked in adjusting her glasses.
I just sighed. The door then burst open and everyone's attention was on a boy that walked in. David Smith. He was around 5'7 feet and had light blue eyes. They seemed to sparkle anytime he blinked which made him more attractive. I quickly snapped back to reality to see if I drooled. He started to make his way to my seat and I averted my eyes to the window.
I heard the seat behind my move. 'Oh great. Just great.', I mumbled under my breath. The class went by but I couldn't concentrate. I felt him touch my hair. I'm never washing my hair, I screamed inwardly. I felt tingles when he traced his hands on my back. it wasn't like anything I've felt. This felt right, true. Could it be I'm gay?.
I heard the bell ring. Freedom! I packed all my stuff and hurried out of the class. I put my stuff inside my locker waiting for Sophia. 'Ughh an hour of History is torture'. I just chuckled while she glared at me. 'Sorry', I raised my hands in surrender.
We walked hand in hand into the cafeteria and I saw something that made me sick to my core. A girl was sitting on David. Her hands all over him while she straddled him. It made my blood boil for an unknown reason. So he was just flirting with me? I was confused. Why would he do that in class if he's into girls?
I walked out of the cafeteria with Sophia chasing after me. 'What?', I turned to face her. Her face held surprise and so many other emotions I couldn't decipher at that moment. 'What's going on? Why did you just storm out of there like that?'. I huffed. I know I should be nice to Sophie, she has been the best friend anyone could ever have but right now I just wanted to be alone. 'Nothing okay. I just need some time alone so can you just back off'.
She looked taken aback by what I said. 'You know. 'Fine, you can just go do whatever you want to do. Like I care', she said and walked away. 'Fine', I said after her and made my way towards the school's football field. I just sat there looking at the sky. Everything just had to go wrong. I can't always have a moment of happiness without it being ruined.
As if on cue, Johnny and his friends started coming towards the field. I wanted to use the other way to go out but Alex stood there. He laughed, 'Going somewhere?'. I swallowed my saliva out of fear. They all surrounded me and started punching and kicking me. I didn't miss the words they said. Freak, nerd, punk, slut. I don't know why they hated me but I've always been their target. The torture stopped when they heard a teacher's voice.
They immediately dispersed while I laid there in pain. Just how pathetic my life was. Something just always had to be wrong. I tried to get up but I was injured badly. I heard footsteps then I saw Sophia in my blurry vision. 'Daniel!', she screamed panting. 'S...of', I managed to say before I succumbed to the darkness...
