Chapter 1: Gilan
Dear Imena,
I'm glad you and everyone else are doing well. You asked some questions about my past, childhood, and why you don't know much about the two subjects. As you know, my job is to protect others, and some of the information I have come to possess over the years could have put you in danger when you were younger. But with most of those dangers gone and the rest too scared to come out, there are some things I can tell you. Mind you, while my past is filled with lots of love and laughter, those sweet moments were far and few between the darker ones. This is the story of prophecies, two young people expected to fulfill said prophecies, and the way their fates seemed to loom over them as they aged.
While reading this you should try your best to keep an open mind and an open heart, the situations and things I have encountered may not be real to you or may not make sense, but everything happens for a reason. It will all make sense in the end.
Now let's start with some background:
It doesn't matter how or when you believe humans came into existence, by the time they showed up, angles and demons had already existed for eons. Then, when humans started dying, those who died with regrets and heavy hearts returned to the Earth as ghosts. So now, we have four beings; angels, demons, humans, and ghosts. We call these the Original Four or the Original Beings. For a long time they lived apart, knowing the other beings existed but unable to interact with them. That is, until a human man lost his wife.
They were newly weds, ready to start a family and a life together, but illness took the wife away. Understandably distressed and distraught, he took it upon himself to find a way to get her back. Many human cultures have different versions of how he went about finding her, and there's no way to know which version is true, but somehow he found her. She was on earth, but she existed in a place between Earth and the next life, and no longer human. Unable to move on because of the pain in her heart from not having the chance to have a family, she became a ghost.
But the man didn't care, he wanted his wife and the family they dreamed of. The couple received a child, but the strangest of things happened. The wife's pregnancy lasted only a few moments before she gave birth to something strange.
It looked human, and acted the way a human baby does, but it was transparent and the man couldn't even hold his child. The baby seemed to be a combination of human and ghost. The man took the baby and his wife home, but his wife was no more than a presence in their home and his baby shifted from a presence like his mother to a physical being at random. The people in the man's village feared the baby, calling him awful names and shunning him. Rumors and stories spread about this baby and others like him who were mixes of two different being, and who existed in the different realms the other Original Beings inhabited.
By the time the baby was five, he and the others like him were forced out of their homes, their biggest threat being the beings who forced them out.
But by some stroke of luck, they found a new realm that was uninhabited. It existed in between the four realms of which the other beings lived in. These misfits decided this would be their home, they called it the Vail. They chose twelve people to be apart of a council that would rule as kings and queens of this big kingdom. They divided up their kingdom into twelve parts so that each person had a section to watch over. Each council member had a different zodiac sign, and they named their section of the kingdom accordingly. The people call their kind hybrids. Human-Angel, human-demon, human-ghost, angel-demon, angel-ghost, and demon-ghost hybrids all lived together in peace.
It stayed peaceful for a long long time. Humans forgot about hybrids, and the other beings pretended they didn't exist. Slowly, human hybrids began to start lives on earth, learning to control any and all powers they had so that they seemed like pure blooded humans, and it worked. Today, it's not uncommon for human hybrids to live on earth and in the Vail, in fact some of the most powerful leaders and people that have ever lived are/were hybrids.
The baby that began all of this was King Gilan of the Aries division. He lived and ruled with the other council members for centuries before passing. There wasn't another council after the original council members passed until thirty years ago, and it was all because of a prophecy.
