Chapter 3: The Crown Prince knows

"Who are you?"

Helena's eyes widened as she immediately recognized the holy sword just by being near it. Nevertheless, she tried her best to be composed.

"I'm surprised that the crown prince would attend a celebration held in the tower."

The attendance of the Crown prince tonight was really a surprise for Helena, since everyone knew how the crown prince loathe the tower even when he was just a kid.

"I'm surprised myself." he draws his sword back.

Helena turns around to face him. "Aren't you being too rude for holding your holy sword against a child?"

"Then i apologize." he says sarcastically. "being in the exact place when i stabbed a traitor triggered my sense when i saw the color of your hair."

Helena couldn't contain her expression as she gasped in horror. "I-I'm sorry i suddenly don't feel so good. Excuse my rudeness, your highness." and she fled in horror.

The Crown Prince looks at her suspiciously from behind as she runs.

As she was no longer in sight of the crown prince, she stops and repeated the words that he said earlier in her head. She realized that the Crown Prince could also remember the events that will take place in the future, seeing that the four knights were also enveloped by the magic circle back then, which means their memories are also intact.

it was not only her, who had the intention to stop the assassination.

She quickly goes inside the room where the event was being held, the clock was ticking and the time of the assassination grew closer. As she spotted her father talking to some count, she was about to head over there when she suddenly felt someone staring towards her. She looks around and saw that the Crown prince was looking at her.

She gasps. "Damn, i can't get close to father."

Since the Crown Prince's memories were intact, then it means that he remembers the archmage being the daughter of the former head of the tower. Helena was growing desperate as time passes by, no matter what she did the crown prince wouldn't look away from her.

'He's suspicious of me', she thought.

Her eyes widened when she suddenly realized the only plan to stop the emperor to grow suspicious of father. She didn't care if the crown prince realizes her identity, she just needed to eliminate the suspicions towards her family.

As she anticipated the magic arrow that was shot towards the third prince, she jumps and uses her body to shield the 3rd prince's body.

"HELENA!" her father immediately rushes towards me. "Why are you here?! are you okay?"

"Papa, i'm fine." Helena smiled, trying her best to look weakened as possible. Her father also sensed that her conditions were normal so he just played along with her daughter.

As she thought, the arrow was not strong enough to even wound her. The people around them looked worried and praised Helena for her bravery. The celebration was halted and the 3rd prince was evacuated safely away from harm. She was taken to the temple of Emos to heal her injuries, and to her dismay, the Crown Prince also followed alongside her.

"Your Highness, you should rest, the emperor would've been worried about you since an assassination took place." Helena's father pleads towards the Crown Prince as he lays Helena in the bed.

"No need." he shook his head. "I want to talk privately to your daughter."

"No!" Helena begs to her father. "Don't leave me papa!"

"It'll be fine Helena, don't be afraid of his highness." Her Father smiles at her before leaving the room.

Helena immediately stops her weak act and stood fiercely in a protective stance against him. "What do you want?"

"I don't know why today's events didn't turn out the way it did." he starts. "it turns out the daughter of the head of the tower already knew the attack beforehand."

she laughs. "so what? what are you gonna do about? didn't you also know? then how could you just let your 3rd brother die-"

"Silence!" He shouts in anger, drawing his sword against me. "i don't know what you did to reverse the time, but saving a prince's life doesn't atone you for your sins."

"Please stop your baseless accusations crown prince, as of now, the emperor only believes that i sacrificed my life to save his child, and a lot of people would also tell the tale. Why would he believe a groundless accusation from a young prince?"

Helena tried to provoke the crown prince to lay another trap. She wants the crown prince to hurt her with the sword so she could accuse the prince as the assassin, therefore her father would be free of the suspicions that would lead to her family's death.

As the crown prince's anger grew, he tried to slash Helena but unfortunately for both of them, the sword repels against Helena's body.

"What?!" both of them exclaimed at the same time.

"What did you do?!" He shouts at me.

"I don't know! has the holy sword finally rusted?"

He tries once again and failed miserably when he was blown away from the same force he exerted towards Helena's body. She noticed her chest was glowing, so she took a peek and noticed the scar she suffered from the holy sword on her chest.

"Damn it." he seethes.

i sigh. "i know you despise me your highness, but you should let me explain."

He stands up. "I don't need an explanation from a criminal."

"Then let's have a deal shall we?"

"What kind of deal?" He says, finally giving up as he draws back his sword. He looks at Helena suspiciously.

"You and i, and probably the four knights know what will take place in the future. The deal is, i would gladly offer my life if i kill the Crown Princess, i will use a forbidden spell to scatter my mana around the world- meaning my own death."

The crown prince's eyes widened, as he knew the forbidden spell that was also performed by the first Archmage in history. His suspicion starts to dissipate as he saw the determination in Helena's eyes. From there, He started to have doubts about his own investigation towards the archmage, since he also knows there were some obvious holes in the death of the crown princess.

"Why are you going so far to prove your innocence?" he asks.

"You must be mistaken. I'm not doing this for myself." She said as her knuckles tightened. "I'm doing this for my family who was plotted against by the very person who killed the crown princess."
