Chapter 12: "Cherry blossoms!"
~Noah's POV-
It's been one week, since I have been treated so badly by that mysterious girl. Honestly, I never tried to approach her again.
But, unknowingly, I was always thinking about her in school. She was in a separate section from mine, but we were in same class. Sometimes I just used to peek at her from the hallway window & as usual she would be sitting alone amidst the cherry trees during recess.
She never bothered to introduce herself to anyone, it felt as if she wanted to enjoy her lone company...
Surprisingly, I didn't accept any girl this week. Almost every week someone would confess to me, I will accept her, date for sometime & then dump her- this was my usual routine.
But after she rejected my charm so badly, I didn't feel to accept someone again! So when I was confessed again this week, I simply said - "No".
"Hey Noah?", Baek almost came running to me.
I was looking outside the window in my class.
"What?", I asked in a deep voice.
"Bro? Is it true that you rejected Gina this week?", he looked very surprised.
I was still looking outside the window, "I don't want to date this week!", I said politely.
Baek came towards me slowly & touched my forehead.
"What are you doing jerk?", I was annoyed.
"Bro! Do you have a fever? Or any other illness?", Baek was quite curious.
I shoved off his hand & said- "Piss off".
"Woah! I can't believe! The nation's famous playboy Han Noah doesn't want to date anyone this week! This is something magical! So who brought this sudden change bro?", Baek was teasing me.
"Piss off you jerk! I am really in a bad mood!", I tried to push him away.
"Is it the flower princess who brought this change?", Baek was still bothering me.
"No! Why would such a rude girl bother me? Huh!", I said quite hastily.
Baek patted my shoulder gently, "It happens bro! We can't deal with every women in life! Some are meant to be weird!"
"Thanks but I don't need your consolation Baek. Leave me alone bro!", I was still trying to push him off.
He didn't pester me more & slowly left. All alone I was still wondering about her.
My mood was ruined even at home. I was just lying on my bed & thinking about that insult. It did really hurt my pride badly!!
(Door knock)
"Noah?"
I flinched with the sudden call. It was my mom. She brought me my favourite snacks.
"Yeah mom! You don't need to knock! Come inside", I slowly sat on my bed.
"Noah what happened to you honey? This week you looked very down! Even you skipped your football practice! What happened?", she was very worried.
"Nothing much mom! You don't need to worry!", I tried to comfort her.
"Why won't I worry? My cheerful son is suddenly so gloomy! Did anyone hurt you?"
I was silent & couldn't find any answer.
Why am I sad though? Is it because I am hurt that she rejected my greeting! Or is it that I am never treated like this by anyone? Or is it that she hurt my pride? But mom is right, overall....I am sad indeed!!
"Th-there is a girl in our school. I heard that she is the heiress of Kim Merchandise! But she is surprisingly rude, arrogant & mysterious. I-I just went to greet her as she was new there, but she treated me very harshly!", I was complaining to my mom.
"Hmm...so what did she say?", Mom asked me.
"I just went to say hello & told my name. But she didn't respond me back & told me to leave her alone very harshly! Even she told me she doesn't need anyone to greet her or to accompany her! She thinks of herself as an arrogant flower princess sitting amidst the cherry blossoms! I knew before, Baek warned me before of her attitude but still due to my friendly nature I went to talk to her, and guess what mom? She told me I am Mr. Overfriendly! Woah! That's what we get when we treat people with kindness! I regret it! I shouldn't have talked to her!", I was very annoyed.
My mom looked a bit sad.
"Do you remember Noah, the cherry trees in your grandma's garden?", she asked me.
"Yes! There were so many trees there mom!"
"All those trees were planted by your grandpa. After he passed away, your grandma acted very strong & tough outside, but I saw her sometimes, silently sitting under those cherry blossoms with teary eyes...", she politely said while patting my head.
I was looking at her with dense gaze.
"Noah, people often sit amidst cherry blossoms with a silent unbearable pain in their heart & watch those blossoms spreading everywhere...Somehow it's related to mental relaxation. I think the girl always sits there because she has some painful memories which forbids her to open up to anyone...
The way she rejected your greetings because she doesn't want to get closer to anyone. These people are very lonely. Just they don't want others to know that, so they act tougher outside & chase them away to keep their self- built armour protected around them. The cold attitude is nothing but the armour which they built around their heart so that it won't break anymore by anyone else. Your grandma was such kind of person...
Noah, you shouldn't leave these people on their own! They are the ones who truly needs to be comforted & accompanied by, so that someday, even if it is a little bit, but a part of their heart would accept our efforts & open up to us!"
I was listening to my mom with a deep gaze, I felt ashamed! Why didn't I think about her darker side?
"Don't worry Noah! I trust my son so much! If you try to get close to these people a little bit, they are the most genuine people you will ever meet! I am sure, your warm nature will somehow melt her ice-cold wall", she said with a kind smile.
I felt so much ease after sharing with her! My heart was very peaceful than before!
I hugged her gently. "You are the best mom anyone can have! I love you!", I said with a smile.
"I love you too my little prince!", she gently kissed my head.
