Chapter 45: Confusion
Feeling a flick to his forehead Kai grew annoyed in his sleep, being woken up before he wanted to be. Letting out a yawn, Kai squinted his eyes to see Jinn leaned over with a smirk on his handsome face.
"Apparently kisses do not wake sleeping beauty anymore, but flicks to the forehead do.", Jinn chuckled.
"Shut up.", Kai giggled, his voice lethargic.
"You okay? You were making a lot of noise in your sleep.", said Jinn raising a hand to rake his fingers through Kai's dark hair.
"Yes, I'm fine. Quit trying to find a reason to call out of work, you do this every day.", Kai said with a smile as he closed his eyes back.
Letting out a sigh, Jinn pouted, rolling his piercing blue eyes. "Don't forget to eat before you take that pain medicine and call me if you need anything, like no matter what it is, I'll come right back."
"Mn.", Kai said softly, with his eyes still closed he was on his way back to sleep again. With a smirk, Jinn leaned down kissing him goodbye, got up and exited the room. Although Kai was doing much better, Jinn never felt right leaving him home alone, maybe he would come back to check on him on his lunch break.
As the morning neared twelve, Kai finally decided to get out of bed, how could he continue to sleep with his boyfriend texting him every two minutes. "Aren't you supposed to be working? Stop worrying about me.", Kai responded also sending an emoji with its tongue sticking out.
"You can't stick your tongue out at a person with a dirty mind, I'll be right there!", Jinn responded.
"Get out! You better not leave work!", Kai responded with a bunch of laughing emojis as he laughed out loud. Placing his phone into his pocket, Kai got up to use the bathroom first and slowly made his way downstairs. As he neared the kitchen a knock suddenly sounded on the door. Not rushing to open the door, Kai continued to the kitchen, Saya was always ordering stuff so it was most likely just the delivery guy dropping off a package, but as he walked the knock sounded again.
Rolling his eyes, Kai turned around making his way back toward the living room, "I'm coming!", he raised his voice as he power walked toward the door. "You could've just left it out he….", Kai said as he opened the door, but his words trailed off as he spoke, the person at the door was no delivery guy, it was Richard!?
"Wha…Rrrichard?" Kai stuttered, dumbfounded, his eyes wide as the two stared at each other, what was Richard doing here and how the hell did know where he lived?
"Can I come in?", Richard finally spoke, his expression unreadable.
"I…I don't uh…What…What are you doing here?" Kai stuttered, unable to get his words out clearly.
"If you won't invite me in, the least you could do is step outside to talk with me man to man, you've stolen my boyfriend after all.", said Richard, a fierce expression finally making its way onto his handsome face.
"…", Although Kai's mouth opened, no words came out, didn't Jinn say that he hadn't told Richard who he was? Backing up, Richard nodded his head, silently inviting Kai out of the house to join him on the porch chair's. Although it was grudgingly, Kai stepped outside, keeping his back toward the door as he watched Richard with his brows furrowed.
"It's fine if you don't want to sit down, I'd probably be just as shocked as you are right about now.", said Richard, as he finally turned his head in Kai's direction, eyeing him intensely from head to toe and then back up again. "I have to say, Jinn has good taste in men don't you think? You are quite pretty for a man, I bet your adorable legs and pigeon-toed feet drive him crazy."
"Can we not do this? If it's an apology you want, I'll give that to you, but...", Kai began to say, but Richard interjected with a loud laugh.
"I'm sorry, you think that your apology will mean anything? That's fucking laughable!", said Richard as he stood, walking over and standing quite close. "You might be pretty, but what else do you offer?! Jinn told me how you were always trying to leave him when things didn't go your way or when things got too hard for you, but what about him! You're a selfish piece of shit who doesn't really care about anyone, but yourself! You don't deserve another chance with a good man like Jinn!" Richard shouted with tears in his eyes.
"…" Not saying anything Kai lowered his head.
"What? You have nothing to say? It's because you know that I'm right! You just show up out of the blue and ruin everything that we've built for the last five months! What's gonna happen when you two go through hard times again? You're just gonna leave him, again right? Because that's all your good for!", Richard screamed. Finally looking Richard in the eye, Kai's own eyes watering as the tears in Richard's eyes finally streamed down his face.
"I'm sorry.", Kai said softly.
"You're sorry…he's sorry!", Richard began to laugh and cry at the same time.
"Richard..", Kai began to say.
"I'm not giving up on him, if I have to wait around for you to fuck up again then so be it!", said Richard, roughly wiping his face as he turned around, making his way down the stairs and walking off.
After Richard had gotten further down the block, Kai turned around going back into the house. Closing the door behind him, he slowly allowed himself to slide down against the door. Bringing his knees up to his chest, Kai crossed his arms and lowered his head, why was it that he wasn't allowed to forget the pain they both went through last year? Why was he constantly being reminded of one of the biggest mistakes that he had ever made in his life?
After Jinn had got off work, he stopped at the Asian market, then went straight to Saya's house. "Hey I'm here, open the door for me.", was Jinn's text to Kai, but there was no response. Giving Kai a ring, Jinn waited, but there was still no response, "Ah fuck, he must be asleep.", said Jinn as he knocked on the door. Letting out a sigh, Jinn turned the knob to try his luck, and to his surprise it was already open.
As Jinn opened the door, there was Kai asleep, lying on the couch. Letting out a sigh, Jinn walked over and sat down, putting the bag of groceries onto the table and patting Kai on the thigh, "Babe, you should not be sleeping down here with the door unlocked!", Jinn scolded, his voice normal toned, but firm.
"Sorry.", Kai said softly, his voice tired although it sounded a bit sad, different than it usually did when he first woke up and Jinn took notice.
"What's the matter, are you in pain? Did you eat and take medicine today?", Jinn asked worry in his voice.
"I didn't feel like eating.", Kai responded, as he lifted his arm to cover his face, but Jinn grabbed his hand before he could.
"Come on, get up. I went to the market and brought you kimchi, I got all your favorite snacks too.", said Jinn as he gently forced Kai to sit up.
"Stooop!", Kai whined, but Jinn ignored him. As Kai sat up, he turned his head away from Jinn.
"Babe, what's the matter?", said Jinn with a raised brow, there was definitely something wrong. When Kai didn't respond Jinn got up, kneeling down in front of him. Although Kai had just woken up, he could see that he had been crying. Furrowing his brows, Jinn quickly wrapped his arms around Kai. "Talk to me babe.", Jinn whispered as Kai began to sniffle.
After a moment of silence, Kai took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. "I'm so sorry.", he finally spoke.
Lifting his head up, Jinn was rather confused, "what are you sorry about Kai?"
"I'm sorry that I hurt you, I'm so sorry I made you suffer." said Kai, his voice shaky.
Letting out a sigh, Jinn squeezed Kai tighter, "Did you have a bad dream or something?"
"No…I…I'm just…how can you just forgive me like that?", said Kai as he sat up, a cute pout on his face.
Letting Kai go, Jinn's gaze locked onto Kai, his piercing blue eyes quite intense. "Kai, hear me when I say that I love you and that we are past that. What I need from you is all that you are giving me right now, and an apology is not a part of that." With that same dimple revealing reassuring smile, Jinn wiped the tears streaming down Kai's face, "Now stop crying and eat with me okay?" Forcing a smile, Kai nodded as Jinn stood. Picking up the grocery bag with one hand and grabbing Kai's with the other, Jinn lead him into the kitchen, sat the bag onto the counter, pushing it toward Kai.
Inhaling deeply, puffing out his cheeks and letting the air out slowly, Kai began pulling stuff out of the bag, and his eyes widened. "My God how much did you pay for this?", said Kai as he pulled out a tub of kimchi.
"You eat that shit like its crack, it's pointless to buy a small one.", Jinn chuckled.
With a smirk, Kai furrowed his brows, "Hey! Well at least I have you to help me eat it!", Kai teased, sticking his tongue out.
With a smirk, Jinn walked around the counter so that he was positioned in front of Kai, "did I not warn you about sticking your tongue out at me?", said Jinn as he slid his hand down to Kai's lower back. Pulling Kai close, Jinn leaned down, placing a kiss on his lips.
"Maybe I'm feeling a little rebellious today.", said Kai, his smirk sly, and Jinn's smirk turned into a grin.
"Nope.", said Jinn raising his hands as if he was surrendering and making his way back on to the other side of the counter.
"Oh, come on, you were talking so much shit earlier.", Kai giggled.
"No!", Jinn said firmly, as he pulled their takeout out of the bag. "Here, eat.", said Jinn, removing the lid from Kai's food and pushing it over.
"Jinn.", said Kai with a giggle, but Jinn ignored him removing the lid from his own food and stuffing a piece of kimbap in his mouth. "Jinnnn!", Kai whined this time.
"…", with a smirk, Jinn looked up as he chewed.
"It's been a few days, why won't you touch me?", Kai asked also taking a bite of his food.
Swallowing, Jinn untwisted the top off of his drink, taking a sip before answering, "you already know why."
"But the staples are out, I'm not a piece of glass you know, you don't have to worry about hurting me, I swear I won't break.", said Kai ending his sentence with a cute pout.
"If you want me to blow you fine, but that's it.", said Jinn stuffing another piece into his mouth, but Kai only rolled his eyes, he certainly wouldn't turn down a blow job, but he'd be being dishonest if he said he didn't want more than that.

Hours later, the day had gotten dark and Saya had made it home, making her way up the stairs from a long day at work.
"Good evening dear!", Saya's elderly neighbor Mrs. Raymond yelled from her porch two houses down.
"Oh hello Mrs. Raymond, how are you and your husband?", Saya responded with a pretty smile.
"We're fine dear, thanks for asking. I wanted to know, is your oriental friend alright?", Mrs. Raymond lowered her voice a bit, raising her hand to cover her mouth, not that it mattered since she was yelling from a few houses down.
"Oh you mean Kai? He's doing good, he's had the staples taken out last week.", Saya responded.
Walking to the end of her porch, Mrs. Raymond got a little closer, "I mean earlier, there was some tall man arguing with him, that man was quite angry."
With parted lips, Saya rolled her eyes, Kai and Jinn must have got into it earlier, "Okay, Mrs. Raymond, thanks for letting me know, I'll go check in on him.", said Saya with a smile, before she unlocked her door and went into her house. As Saya walked into the house, she saw Jinn in the kitchen straightening up.
"Hey, hey.", said Jinn with a smile as he wiped down the counter.
"Hey Jinn.", said Saya, placing her pocketbook on the dining room table as she made her way toward the kitchen. "Where's my baby?"
"He's asleep, medicine knocked him out.", Jinn responded, as he rinsed out the rag.
"I see, so what happened with you two today? You do remember that we agreed to keep him relaxed right? Why are you stressing my baby out?"
Quickly glancing up, Jinn furrowed his brows to see Saya with an annoyed look on her face. "What are you talking about?"
"My neighbor said she saw you two going at it on the porch Jinn.", said Saya placing a hand on her hip.
"What?!", Jinn responded totally confused, he had been at work all day.
