Chapter 3: Challenging Charles(Chapter 2)

I was sitting there in curiosity of why someone like him, would be in a place like this. Maybe he thought, he could benefit from our fortune, our name. Little did he know, this place wasn't about opportunities, it was about having control.

I bit my lip attempting not to snarl and it seems Charles caught me doing this because he looked at me with quite an interested. "Miss.Victoria is it? I know you feel, I won't be a good replacement but I assure the clothes I make for you will be mesmerizing!" Charles yelled in a bit of an accent, I couldn't tell which one it was though. It was kinda a bit Irish and French at the same time, it made me want to ask his ethnicity.

"Mesmerizing you say? You must really know how to make clothing don't you? For you to say that it's mesmerizing." I said with a calm and Interrogative tone. This made even my mother curious, seeing how I never questioned her choices very often.

This time I was tempting her.

Charles didn't chock or hesitate about my comment and instead a smirk came upon his face, one of that seemed to be acceptable of a challenge.

"Well, Miss.Victoria I have to say. I did not expect those words to come fourth out of your mouth but, I accept the challenge. By tomorrow I will have you an exquisite grown made of the finest fabric. I presume you are okay with blue and gold for the colors?"

"Purple and Black then we have deal." I said with pure determination, "Done." Charles replied coming over and sticking out his hand, I was a bit hesitant at first but then I shook his hand. The warmth hitting my skin, as I did so. When we parted I was a bit excited, to see what Charles would come up with and if his design would actually be mesmerizing.

Charles said his goodbyes and left the room, left me with my mother. Part of me wish he could have stayed a bit longer, seeing as how he actually lighten up the room bit. Giving me a sight bit of hope, a maybe, a maybe someone could change this place. But, it was only a maybe, the odds of someone actually defining my mother and getting away with it were very slim. That's why I haven't tried it myself.

I said my goodbyes to my mother, knowing that later on I had Ballet practice and needed to get ready. As soon as I was about to leave the room,I felt a cold chill down my back.

My mother whispered something, just loud enough so we can I could hear it.

She said, "Don't forget Victoria Acres I'm in charge and nothing or no one will change that."

I gulped leaving the room and closing the door behind, taking in her words. The words she always reminded me of, so I never forget her authority. How could I though if she never lets me forget.
