Chapter 2: Chapter 2
"Where am I?" I walk around the grassy field. I walk searching for anyone or anything that can help me but the place is deserted. After about half an hour of walking, I finally rest on a rock.
Have I travelled through time? Is this the future? How can the future be so deserted? Or have I travelled to the past? During the times of dinosaurs? I was so lost in thought that I didn't realise the boy peering at me! "Ah...! What do you think you are doing?! " I quickly move away from the boy who was slightly taller than me for some reason.
The boy stared at me quietly. "Hey! Answer me!... Or you don't understand my language?" I wait for him to respond but he just stares at me. "Hello?...Me...Is ...lost...can you ..."I point at him then to myself "Show.....me ....where the lab is."
And like earlier he stares. "The lab? L-A-B...a building?" I sigh and throw my hands in despair.
"Hey, little girl, what are you doing here? No one comes to this forest!"
He can speak! Wait, little girl?
"Who are you calling a little girl? Do are look little to you?" I ask him and he nods.
"You look at least one year younger than me!"
Oh great! A seventeen- year old is bullying me! And here I thought the lab was my worst place.
I look at the boy and say "I will have you know that I am 26 years old!" He then collapses laughing as loud as he can.
"26! Yeah... right! Just look at yourself!" I then look at my hands and scream. I then quickly search for water and see my reflection. Indeed I was young. "What is happening to me? W-who are you?!" I point at my reflection and gasp.
"Oh well, Good luck girl...or should I say 26- year old." He begins to walk away.
" NO! Wait please don't leave me here!" I say as I run to catch up to him grabbing his arm and he stops. "Please, I don't know anyone else."
"I am in no use of worthless people who are no use to me. I am not your nanny." He says and shrugs my arm off him and walks away. "Wait! I am not useless! In fact, I am as useful as a sandwich in your belly!" With that, he abruptly turns to me.
"What in the world is a sand witch? And what in the world would she be doing in my belly? Don't witches live in the dark forest? I have never had of this sand witch. I have only ever heard of the dark witch and....." Opsie I might have said the unnecessary.
I clear my throat and say "I will only tell you if you let me come with you."
"Do you seriously think I am a fool? And who in this world trusts a stranger without knowing them. I could be evil you know?"
"I know you are not evil or else you could have left me here long ago. So please, please please please please with a cherry on top.." I say.
" You know for a person who says that they are 26, you sure act childish. You should act your age!"
"Act my age?!" The boy starts walking away.
"Are you coming?" The boy asks me and I run to him. He walks at a fast pace and I struggle to keep up.
"So...My name is Brie.....what's yours?" I ask the boy.
"It is not a must you know."
"Then what am I suppose to call you?"
"I don't know. Anything!"
"Then anything it is!" We walk down the hill silently. I then take a close look at the boy. On his back, he has a sword and on his right side, he has a bag.
"Um...Anything?...why do you have a sword?"
"For protection!"
"Against what?"
"Against monsters and witches and sand witches and...you know, dangerous things."
"There are monsters?!"
"I think so I was chasing one then I found you."
"Did they always exist?"
"No...Just recently they started appearing. We are almost to the village." He says pointing far ahead.
"Do you think the village....." I am interrupted by a scream. We stop dead in our tracks and look around from where the scream came from. Suddenly he starts running to the left and I follow him
