"Where will my grandfather be, Richard?"
"In the throne room."
We reached an area where two guards were. They made the door of genuine diamonds and had a mixture of rubies and sapphires with it. The guards looked kind of serious but I could not blame them it was their job to guard the throne room at all times so they had to look a bit intimidating.
"Are you ready, Annabelle?" Richard asked.
"Yes, I am."
Richard opened the door wide so I could step inside.
I let my eyes travel far and wide.
Magnificent braziers surrounding each of the fourteen alabaster columns light up the entire throne hall and engulf the throne hall in a brilliant glimmer. The countless gems on the oblique ceiling dance in the flickering light, while gargoyles and statues look down upon the maple floor of this elegant hall.
An onyx rug runs down from the throne and splits to encircle the entire hall, while rectangular banners with ornate tapestries droop from the walls. Between each banner hangs a small cluster. Some of them have been lit and illuminate the murals of gods and goddesses below them.
Drapes covered grand, coloured the same onyx as the banners. They adorned the curtains with gold leaves and emblazoned edges.
Five lavish sapphire thrones sit atop an elevated platform and are adjoined by two rather plain-looking seats for visiting royalty of other nations.
The throne was covered in hallowed carvings and fixed on the wide backside was a sapphire trident. The modest pillows are a light onyx, and it had also adorned them with gilded plumes.
Those expecting an audience with their royal highness can do so on the several long and rather bulky maple benches, all of which are facing the throne in a wide V-shape. The place was a real beauty.
They sited an elderly man on a couch with his head lowered down but immediately Richard closed the door he lifted his head to see who it was.
"Your Majesty." Richard greeted, dipping his head low.
The king acknowledged him with a nob, but his attention was turned to me. I really felt scared. Maybe he won't recognize me at all.
"Annabelle, right?" he asked
"Yes, sir."
He stood up from where he was sitting. "You know you should not be referring to me as sir Annabelle."
Richard went to where the king was sitting. "Your Majesty, once again I kept my promise."
My grandfather smiled at Richard before hugging him. After that, he came to me and gave me a tight hug, a tight hug.
"Annabelle, my dear, I am so glad to see you again." he cried out before giving me a tight hug.
Richard exited the room to leave me and my grandfather to speak.
My grandfather directed me to a seat on the couch he was sitting on. "Annabelle, I hope you are comfortable here."
I nodded my head at his question before observing my grandfather. He had the same eye colour as my dad, the shape of his lips were exactly the same as my dad.
My grandfather looked sad, which was weird. "Grandpa, are you okay?"
"I feel terrible, my dear."
"Any problem?"
"I asked Richard to bring you back home, but I feel terrible about that."
"Grandpa, if you think I feel uncomfortable in Firce, then you are sorely mistaken." I blurted out.
My grandfather folded his before smiling at me. "It seems like your mind-reading powers are showing off already."
"I can read minds?!"
"Darling, we can read minds."
I was pretty shocked because Richard never told me about that.
"Maybe Richard did not tell you because he thought your power will start showing off slowly."
I shrugged my shoulders because I didn't want to talk about that.
"You really surprised me, Annabelle," he admitted
"What do you mean?"
"I was not expecting you to call me grandpa immediately."
I bit my lips. "To be honest, I felt comfortable with you. It felt like as I was speaking to my dad again."
My grandfather laughed. "You remind me of your mother. You inherited her hair colour, complexion and her attitude, but your eyes and wing colour are from your dad.
We both laughed at his statement.
My eyes wandered around the throne room, but I kept them stationed on the five sapphire thrones on the elevated platform. I imagined myself sitting on the throne.
"Annabelle, I think you should sit on your throne." my grandfather suggested
"Can I really sit on the throne without being officially crowned as The Firce Princess?"
My grandfather nodded.
I went to the elevated platform where the throne was and I sat on the last throne and to be honest, the feeling I got while sitting on the throne was amazing. Everything looked so spectacular from where I was.
My grandfather got a crown for a safe and walked over in my direction. "To me, you are already the princess. The only reason for the coronation is to announce to everyone who lives in this Realm that The Firce Princess is alive and she has come back home. I will only host this party when you want."
I told my grandfather I wanted the party to be held tonight at first he did not agree, but I eventually convinced him.
"Okay, Annabelle, if you want the party to be held tonight it will be." my grandfather surrendered before raising his hands above the head.
"Thank you so much, grandpa."
"You should rest and also get a tour around the castle. Richard will take you to your room."
I nodded my head.
My grandfather gave me the key to a room and, according to him, it was the key to my room. He told me that Richard will direct me to the room after that we both said goodbye.
*******
When I left the throne room, I saw Richard, who was talking to one guard.
"It seems like it is time to take you to your room."
I rolled my eyes at him, which only made him laugh.
"Then tell me, what did you and the king talk about?" he asked casually.
"I don't want to tell you."
"Why?"
"Because you did not tell me I could read people's minds."
"Is that why you are angry?"
"Yes"
"Okay, I am sorry for not telling you about that. I didn't know that you read minds immediately." Richard pleaded.
"Okay, I forgive you both if you ever hide something like that again I will kill you."
"You can't kill me Princess because we have the same powers."
"Whatever."
Richard laughed again before directing his hands to a particular door that was made with diamonds.
"That is your room."
I quickly unlocked the door so I could finally see how this room looks and, to be honest with myself, what I saw was beyond my imaginations.
The room was enormous; it was better than any other room I have ever seen. There was a queen-sized canopy bed with red satin sheets in the centre and multiple silk pillows. The furniture was in red and black while the wall was painted in white. A vanity was placed at the corner of the room and it had different makeup items and perfumes.
It took me a while to find my voice. "Oh, my gosh!"
Richard smiled. "If you need Victoria's help, just pull that rope. There are some nightdresses in the drawers and also you will find all your gowns, shoes, tiaras and your jewellery in the armoire. I will give a tour around the palace when you are ready and also I will send Victoria to see you."
"Okay."
Richard left the room so I could have my privacy.
