Trusting him came naturally to me. I didn't even realise my hands were in his until his grip tightened a bit.
"Do you trust me?" he whispered, slightly anxious. I nodded, remembering when I mistook his anxious self for a pessimist.
And the thought made me smile.
"Obviously. Why else would I marry you, brainless bimbo?" I hissed back. He appeared deep in thought, barely offended by my 'insults'.
"I'm sorry if your feet fall off or something," he said instead, smirking slightly. I could only smile at his pathetic attempt at smirking, looking around for cameras.
After all, it was our wedding dance.
What could possibly go wrong?
"Oh, by the way, who are those guys?" he continued, as the music started playing.
I gulped, the question echoing inside my head.
"Who?" I almost stammered.
Almost, because I was always in control, even around him.
'Why did I even invite them?' I thought.
But then I realised- I didn't.
My smiling wedding planner- a woman in her thirties with dyed red hair and chocolate brown skin. The woman was too good at doing her job and made sure to invite almost every single person both of us had ever been in contact with.
"Those four creepy guys? Who've been staring at you the whole while... I mean, I get that you're beautiful and all, but..." the man started, throwing in such sweet words with ease.
"Shut up!" I cut him off with a smile. He stopped talking and looked past me at his mother and sister, who were in tears.
He tried making them stop by making silly faces. How sweet...
I almost sighed aloud in relief.
God bless emotional people-
We danced in silence for a short while, and a few others also started to waltz onto the floor.
A little girl- one of the flower girls, ran up to me. I held her hand, softly twirling her around until her parents decided to collect her. I watched as they returned to their younger toddler, who was now asleep in the comfort of his or her stroller.
I turned around, to question who they were again- and was overjoyed when I realised that the love of my life himself was planning on explaining.
"But seriously, who are they?" he muttered, instead. I scoffed in disbelief, subtly taking a better glance at the four men.
He leaned a little closer to me and passed a passive-aggressive smile in their direction.
I sighed. A long, exhausted sigh.
It's not like I expected them to show up.
But still...
'I'm an idiot,' I thought, feeling my head hurt from overthinking.
"I'm gonna tell you something, if you hadn't figured it out earlier it's probably because you're dumb..." I started.
"Or because you're an actress and hard to read but go on," he cut me off.
"Don't interrupt this, ok?" I continued, ignoring the comment.
"What if I really wanna say something?" The naïve smile he rarely showed anymore almost caught me off guard.
"Sew your lips together... I don't know!" I snapped, so that I could avoid melting into his arms like I always wanted to.
His eyes faced the floor for a second and his smile dropped instantly.
"Peach...?" I added softly, hoping the old nickname would make me seem a little less harsh.
He tried hiding his smile and cleared his throat, looking back up at me.
"You better call me that more often..."
