Chapter 2: Diagon Ally

"I am Professor McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress at Hogwarts, and I am here to take you to Diagon Ally." said the stern-looking woman.

Lily's head was full questions

What is this woman doing here? What is Hogwarts? What is Diagon Ally? Where is the cat? Does Mama Lola know anything about this? Does Papa Lolo know anything about this? Ran through her head, but the only question she got out was

"What?" she whispered.

Professor McGonagall smiled."perhaps we can take this inside."

Lily nodded and stepped back, the professor stepped in and looked around. She took a seat at the table and said: "perhaps you can call your guardian."

Lily nodded quickly and left the room. "Mama Lola! Papa Lolo!" She called.

"Ah, Lily, who was it?" said Papa Lolo while walking towards her

"She's sitting in the living room right now," she replied.

The family quickly made their way to the living room.

Mama Lola and Papa Lolo went to sit on the other couch while still looking at Professor McGonagall.

"Who might you be?" Mama Lola asked politely.

"Professor McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts. I am here to escort Ms Evans to Diagon Ally together school supplies." Professor McGonagall said.

"Ah, you finally got your letter the Lily?"Mama Lola asked proudly.

"What? Oh, yes," she said quickly.

" Very well, we may leave," Professor McGonagall said, rising from her chair.

"Wait! Can I change first?" she asked, noticing she was wearing things not suitable for the weather outside.

She ran upstairs and changed into an orange-red shirt and a black pair jean, she put her messy morning in a braid. She sprinted to the back door where Professor Mcgonagall was waiting.

"We must go before the weather gets any worse. We will be apparating there," she said.

"Apparating?" she asked curiously.

"Traveling from one place to another without the need of legs" she explained.

"Oh," Lily said, a mischievous smile appearing on her lips that Minerva recognizes from the Marauders days.

"Now hold tight"Professor Mcgonagall before turning and vanishing on the spot.

Lily felt like being squeezed into a rubber tube, but before she suffocates the was gone as quickly as she felt. She opened her eyes not to see her house but to see a whole street of witches and wizards of all ages. From all sides, there were shops with cauldrons and what's said to be uniform horns and shops with books that can bite. Lily even caught a glimpse of a book called The Invisible Book of Invisibility before seeing it vanishing with her hazel eyes.

After their trip to Gringotts, the professor said

"Flourish blots first. Come on, " Professor Mcgonagall said.

After Flourish and blots, they were to go to Madame Malkins where they stopped.

" What is it, Professor?" Lily asked.

"It's your birthday today, isn't it?" she asked.

"Yes, but you don't need to-" she said quickly but was interrupted.

"Nonsense, not every day that someone turns 11 isn't it. Now go along to Madame Malkins, I'll be getting your pet from Eyelops Owlery," she said.

Lily made her way to the Madame Malkins. The doorbell rang as she entered.

"Hogwarts are you? The shop owner asked. Lily nodded.

"Well, go stand on that chair, we've had 3 people for Hogwarts today and the third ones over there." "She said pointing to a boy with curly brown hair and grey eyes.

Lily made her way to the stood on it, while the measuring material measures her on its own.

"Hi. I'm James, James Black." the boy said, holding out his hand.

"I'm Lilian, Lilian Evans but you can call me Lily." shaking their hands.

"So are you're going to Hogwart too, then?" James asked.

"Yeah, I don't know what Hogwarts was before now," Lily said miserably.

" Really! That means your muggle-born aren't you?" He exclaimed enthusiastically.

"Muggle-born?" She asked.

"Oh, right, you wouldn't know. Muggle means non-magic folk," he explained.

"Well, if that's what it means, then I am sure I'm a muggle-born, and I bet that's a big disadvantage for me." She said.

" How are you named after a white flower when you keep looking at the dark side of things," he said with a chuckle.

"I was bullied in my muggle school. Freak they called me."Lily said bitterly.

"Well, let's just hope karma gets to them," James said

"Oh. Karma did get them."Lily said with the same mischievous smile.

"Really, tell me ho-" he said eagerly but was interrupted by the shop owner.

"Done!" she said.

James frowned. "Well, I'll see you on the train, then Lily," He said.

"Bye James," she said as she exited the shop.

"There you are, and here's your owl," Professor Mcgonagall said she passed Lily a small cage with minuscule hazel coloured owl with big emerald eyes.

"This is the cutest, smallest, and best owl I could ever ask for in my life. So a BIG THANK YOU." Lily said energetically

"Your welcome, now to the last shop, Olivanders," she said

This is what Lily has always been hoping for. A magic wand.

The doorbell rang eerily as they enter the shop.

The shop looked like a library, there were shelves from head to foot in the shop and boxes many colours. A man just as old as Ms Bandales with old grey eyes poked his head out of the of one the shelves.

"Ah Minerva, how very nice to see you again. 9 and a half inches, Cedarwood and phoenix feather core, I believe." He exclaimed happily. Minnie nodded. " Being in good use too?" He asked. Minnie nodded again. "We are here to get a wand I believe, Ms Evans," Minnie said finally. Mr Olivander turned just in to see Lily look up and nod quickly. "Ah very well, you do not mind if I measure you, Ms Evans," Mr Olivander asked.

"No of course not Mr Olivander," Lily said quickly

After measuring Lily Mr Olivander pulled out a wand from a box held it out to Lily." 10 and a quarter inch, holly and dragon heartstring." he said. Lily took the wand and feeling a little foolish gave it a wave. Nothing whatsoever happened. Mr Olivander took the quick and put it in its box. And took another wand.

" 8 inches, Ash and unicorn tail hair, go on, go on." she was about to wave it when Olivander took it from her again "no-no" he muttered. After waving what felt like every wand in the shop. Mr Olivander came to a stop. "what if, what if, yes, yes." he muttered. He pulled out a silvery box and took the wand from inside. The colour of the was silvery white." 9 inches, Aspen and phoenix feather core." He said. Lily took the wand and a warm feeling went through her hand. She gave the wand a flick and white petal fell into the room. "Ah, yes, very proud, very proud indeed" he whispered while putting the wand back in its box and wrapping it.

"Uh, what is proud?" Lily asked.

Mr Olivander turned to her.

"The wand chooses the wizard, Ms Evans. An owner of aspen is said to very accomplished with duels. It is very proud, very proud indeed, that its last owner, why its last owner was your great grandmother." he said

With that last sentence, they left the shop.
