Chapter 22: Coincidences

"You! You are Maya, right? Oh my god!" as the man continued to mumble on, Maya really had a feeling if déjà vu.... Where had she seen this scene before?

The man in front of Maya was none other that Liam, he was calling Aiden so as to inform him about Maya visiting the hotel that he was staying at. Maybe his friend could have a chance to meet his goddess again?!

As soon as Liam called Aiden, he picked up his phone, "Hello! Aiden where are you? Look whom I accidentally met at the entrance of the hotel! It is no one else but- but first tell me where are you?"

"I am right here..." Liam heard that voice from two sides; one from the speaker of his phone while the other one from behind. He turned around only to see Aiden standing behind him. "Hey! Aiden do you know whom I met just now? Look she is-" As Liam turned around just to see an empty place.

Unfortunately, the girl he was eagerly waiting to show his friend, was no longer standing there. Maya had already left with Sofia to their reserved room. Liam could only complete his sentence awkwardly as, "She is-....was standing right here! You know your first crush-!" Before he could complete his sentence, Aiden covered his mouth and took him aside to talk.

"You don't need to announce it to the world! Naturally I know that Maya is here, I was the one who brought her here!" Aiden said in a hushed voice.

*gasp* "It feels as if my little boy has grown up!! You have started a relationship even without informing your family! How long has it been since you guys got into a relationship?" Liam asked with excitement.

"Well it has not been long.... We had met again only recently like yesterday." Aiden felt as if he had really made a mistake of saying this sentence; he could already predict what his friend was going say now.

"You are bringing a lady to hotel after meeting her again within one day! ONE DAY! Since when did you get so talented?!?"

Aiden conveniently avoided the topic as he continued, "But I am already thinking about what reaction will my family have to this relationship, you know, after what had happened a few years ago." Aiden was already thinking about the future; even before starting anything.

" I know your brother, he will definitely support you even after that incident. And as for your father, I think he would not mind it as long as you tell him that it is a girl you are dating." Liam reassured Aiden. It seemed as if he really was not joking and said seriously.

"Hmm, hopefully. Let's go. Are you heading back to your home or are you going to stay here?"

"Well now that we have finished the meetings we had come here for, I am thinking about heading back in few days. I don't think that I will have a lot to handle in my family's company. But I do think that there will be a lot of work for you now. After all your sister-in-law is pregnant, Brother Ethan will have start spending more time with her now." Liam shrugged.

"Why will you be so free now?" Aiden was not really a fan of working in the company. He felt a bit better when he thought that his friend also had to suffer in this corporate world and that he was not alone.

Aiden only attended the meetings because he didn't want Ethan to have all the burden on himself.

Their father had recently retired and passed on all his duties to his brother. Since the Chairman had retired and the CEO was new to his duties, a lot of competitors were creating problems for them. Seeing that there was no fight for power between these two brothers and the foundation of the company was strong, the 'enemy companies' could only create external problems for them and not internal.

When Aiden asked about why was he going to be so free now, Liam was a bit reluctant to answer him as he knew that maybe his friend's mood will get affected because of the reason. But thankfully for him, Aiden himself changed the topic before he could reply.

"Liam, have you eaten anything? I'm going for dinner in some time, wanna join?"

*ding*

Suddenly Aiden got a message from the number he had saved as 'Sister-in-law 2' it read as- "Brother Aiden, we are going down to have dinner, you better be ready!"

All of a sudden the 'friendly' Aiden who had just invited his friend for a dinner vanished as he pushed his 'best friend ' out of the scene. "I don't think you need to have dinner here. You can leave!"

Liam, who was unable to understand this could only think that the reason for Aidan's sudden change was the message he had received now. So, he planned to teach him a lesson later on. "Ohk, stop pushing me, I can leave on my own."

....

"I am telling you sister! It has been only one day since your break up with that sc*m... you should avoid staying in closed places, you will feel better if we eat out instead of a closed room....." Maya was lectured by Sofia throughout the way.

Aiden had already occupied a table at the restaurant, as he pretended to surf through his phone, Sofia's voice was getting closer and closer, he looked up and said in fake shock, "Oh! What a coincidence again!" But the next words were of absolutely his real feelings, "What are YOU doing here?" Aiden said angrily as he looked at the Three of them.
