Chapter 79: I simply endure it.

Lucas grabbed the glass bottle by its neck and rashly swung it at Aiden.

He had not expected that the entire glass bottle would break and not just the bottom half of it. As the bottle broke, Lucas got several cuts on his hand.

Thankfully Aiden reacted fast enough to protect Maya and his head from the bottle.

Lucas had used a lot of force while doing it, if it were a normal person's head, he or she might have just passed out.

Aiden had used his forearm in defense and since the bottle had broken into several pieces, it was inevitable that he did not hurt from it. A few of the glass shards were in his arm, and it was bleeding profusely.

Maya screamed with shock, this attracted the attention of Ryan, who was at the other side of the corridor, waiting for Alyssa to come out. He immediately came to the scene and was also shocked by what he saw.

Lucas was observing Maya's every action. Although he got blood on his hands, unexpectedly it was not Aiden's, but his own.

Even though he was hurt, and was bleeding more than Aiden, Maya didn't care about him… How was that possible? Earlier, even if he got a scrape on his hand, Maya would help him put a band-aid on it, and now?

He couldn't believe that things could change so much, within a few weeks. How could he fail again!?

Looking at his situation right now, and remembering the respect everyone was giving to Aiden a while back, Lucas knew that he couldn't fight with Aiden. He had to run away before he got caught.

Ryan came to Aiden and what he saw was, Lucas trying to flee after creating so many problems.

Instinctively, he tried to go after him and catch him before he ran away but Maya stopped him, "No, not right now. We have to take Aiden to the hospital. He is bleeding very badly."

"Maya it's not needed~" Aiden felt happy that Maya cared about him, all of his anxiety from the past few days vanished when he saw her like this. She really was not upset with him!

"Look at your hand! How can you smile right now!?" Then Maya looked at Ryan expecting him to add some sensible words to her sentence.

Until now, she did not know that Ryan was actually, in fact Aiden's personal assistant and good friend.

Ryan looked at Maya and then towards Aiden, he didn't want to offend his boss, but he also did not want to offend his future Madam! What could he do!?

"Ryan, you should go after him." Aiden simply said these words and Ryan turned to leave.

Then he looked at Maya, and said in a hushed voice, "Actually I don't trust him enough for letting him drive my car… Can you take me to the hospital?"

Was this 'hushed voice' meant to make it a secret!? Maya, who naively believed him, looked at Ryan's back and said, "He is standing here! What if he heard you?"

"No need to worry about that, his hearing is weak. He won't be able to."

Maya squinted her eyes, "How do you know that?"

"He works in my brother's company." Aiden looked at Maya as if he was very scared of him.

"Oh… Don't need to worry, even if I am not that good of a driver, I can at least make sure that you reach the hospital safely." As Maya said this, she emphasized the words 'I can' and looked towards Ryan....

It turned out that this guy might be Aiden's superior in the company, that explained why he was just standing when she asked him for help.

Ryan: "!!!" Excuse me people! I am standing right here!

And you guys can get a taxi or an ambulance! Anyways, Aiden you better not make a bad impression of me in front of miss Maya! She is still my girlfriend's boss!

Bit after his train of thoughts ended, he left in a serious mood. Since he knew that both Lily and miss Ashely were there for Alyssa, he could leave peacefully and catch the cause of this mess.

As Maya and Aiden headed towards his car, Maya took out a blue scarf from her purse.

The bleeding had stopped by a considerable amount, but due to what had happened earlier, his white shirt's entire sleeve had turned red.

She did not tie it on his arm, but just covered his sleeve, making sure that it was not too tight.

Aiden looked at her questioningly.

"Since we can not put pressure of your hand or cover it, we should reach the hospital as soon as possible to get you treated." Maya answered.

Aiden: "??" He understood some of it but not everything.

Maya very rarely explained herself, and today was no exception. She didn't feel the need to give Aiden the reasons for covering his shirt sleeve.

Maya carefully started the engine of the car. Her driving skills could be judged as 'okay'; not very good, but not bad as well.

The only problem was she was driving 'a bit' faster than her usual speed.

Aiden clutched onto the seatbelt with his left hand which was not hurt. This was too fast for his poor heart!

But when he looked at Maya and her determination while driving, he consoled himself, "So what if we accidentally get into a minor accident, we are heading to the hospital anyways."

As he shrugged his shoulders at this thought, Maya thought that he was still curious about her actions. So, she decided to explain herself, "You see, we can't apply pressure on your wound because the glass pieces might go deeper and create more problems for you. So the only option available is to reach the hospital as soon as possible and let the doctor treat it."

Aiden was not interested in her reasons first, but now he became curious, "Then what did you mean by covering my shirt sleeve?"

Maya stayed silent for half a minute, "The blood stain… I-I can't handle the sight of anything too red." She focused on driving and continued, "It might have distracted me from driving, so I covered it."

"Oh…" Aiden was unaware of this, after all he had seen her rule the ramp walks in flashy red clothes, red lipsticks, red wine… so many things started coming up to his mind, it felt weird as he thought about it. "So how do you manage during other times?" This question just slipped out of his mouth.

"I simply endure it." Maya said as if it was the easiest thing in the world.
