Chapter 10: ACT 2 Do Over

Present day, June 20th 2020, Allan, Johnny, and Lewis's parents are going crazy looking for them. They've looked everywhere, and they haven't found them. Allan's dad is sitting in his couch looking at a picture of Allan. He gets up from the couch, and paces around his phone on the table impatiently. He picks it up hesitantly, then he calls Allan's mom his old lover. She doesn't pick up, then he leaves a voicemail, and says: 'I know it's been a while, and I wasn't sure if I should do this. But Allan is gone he's been gone for a couple of days, and so are his friends. You know you're son the one you birthed, and helped me raise for the first 10 years of his life. If that doesn't move you to come back, I don't know what will.' He picks up his phone, and tries to call Allan to no avail. He gets mad then chucks his phone away. Then he breaks down crying. Back with the boys, we can see they traveled in time to where Kronos the time keeper, sent them. It's September 25th 1970, and Allan, Johnny, and Lewis are in the forest together. They walk through the slip then it closes. Allan gets a weird feeling, then he looks back at where the slip was. Allan says: 'dad.' Then Lewis asks: 'what?' Then Allan says: 'oh no Dad I forgot about him, he must be worried sick, and the last time we talked it was in an argument, we have to go back.' Lewis: 'I told you this was stupid man we should've never gone in the first place.' Johnny: 'shut the hell up, just stop.' Lewis stays quiet. Then Allan coughs awkwardly, and says: 'well we should all just calm down. There's nothing we can do about it now. We're here, we can't go back. We have a job to do so let's do it.' Johnny stares at them them very intimidatingly then he walks away. Allan: 'wow that was something huh Lewis.' Lewis: 'it's nothing I've already gotten used to him.' Allan then looks at Lewis, he can see that he's upset. Allan sits next to him on the ground, and says: 'I can tell there's something on your mind. You have that sad face again.' Lewis: 'this is my normal face.' Allan: 'oh.' Lewis: 'but there's something I'm upset about.' Allan: 'ok shoot.' Lewis: 'don't take this the wrong way, but this is a really dumb thing you're doing, and you may have just screwed us all.' Allan: 'I'm not sure how I'm supposed to take that, but ok.' Lewis: 'and you guys didn't even ask me.' Allan: 'well you know we were in the moment.' Lewis scoffs. Allan: 'besides I didn't know what else to do, we need to get back home, and this is the only way.' Lewis: 'this is the retarded way.' Allan: 'why are you always on that though?' Then Allan laughs. Lewis: 'look you're my friend, and I care about you, but if you're being a retard I'm gonna tell you.' Allan: 'don't you wanna see your dad?' Lewis: 'no I really don't.' Allan: 'why?' Lewis: 'look don't take this the wrong way.' Allan: 'oh here we go again.' Lewis: 'but I'm not like you. I understand that what happened with your mom was very traumatic for you, and I'm sorry for that, but I couldn't care less about my dad anymore.' Allan: 'but what about all that stuff Kronos said?' Lewis: 'it's not true.' Allan: 'not even a little?' Lewis: 'no I have accepted that life sucks.' Allan: 'that's depressing as hell.' Lewis: 'yeah so please don't become like me.' Lewis and Allan walk together in the forest. Then they realize that Johnny has gone missing. Allan: 'hey where's Johnny?' Lewis: 'not sure.' Allan: 'should we look for him?' Lewis: 'I thought that's what we were doing.' Eventually after walking for a while longer they find Johnny. Allan says: 'is that him?' Lewis: 'I think so.' Allan approaches Johnny. Allan asks: 'Johnny?' Then he turns around, and he can see that it's him. Allan: 'there you are we've been looking for you.' Johnny: 'yeah well you found me.' He said in an aggressive tone. Lewis stands around awkwardly, and Lewis asks: 'so what are you doing exactly?' Johnny: 'I'm looking for a v-thingy, uh the time vagina thing.' Lewis: 'you mean time slip right.' Johnny: 'yeah that.' Allan: 'wait why?' Johnny: 'if I can find a way to go home without doing the thing Kronos wants us to do I'm game.' Lewis: 'that's pretty smart.' Allan: 'wait I thought you wanted to do this mission.' Johnny: 'AJ if there's another way then I'm taking it.' Allan: 'ok so we're just not doing the thing.' Lewis: 'I never wanted to do the thing. Johnny is right Allan. Bro we gotta use our head.' Allan then gets upset, and climbs up the tree. He starts listening to old songs he loves. Lewis says: 'I've never understood why he does that.' Johnny: 'he says it relaxes him, so whenever he feels upset he just climbs up a tree, and listens to music.' Lewis stares at Johnny for a second then he says: 'you know I don't get you.' Johnny: 'good.' Lewis: 'see at one moment you seem fine then the next you're mad.' Johnny: 'so what's it to you?' Lewis: 'nothing really I'm used to the insults. Plus I don't have a very good self-esteem to say the least. Mostly because of my father, and most other people.' They stare at each other in awkward silence, then Johnny says: 'did you really need to tell me your life story right there?' Lewis: 'I guess not.' Then Johnny says: 'we're looking for slips so focus on that. I don't wanna hear about your life.' At one point Allan gets off the tree, and says: 'I don't get didn't you guys spend some time together while I was kidnapped by Kronos?' Johnny: 'yeah so what?' Allan says: 'well I really don't know how you guys even survived a day together.' Johnny says: 'I know right.' That's when Allan gets heated, and he says: 'man what is your problem? We've been nothing, but good to you, and lately you've been more of a jerk than usual.' Johnny just smirks while he talks. Allan gets even more angry: 'then he says what's so funny?' Johnny: 'you.' Then Allan gets mad, and he steps forward like he's gonna attack then he says: 'you know what no. I'm not gonna do it cause, I'm actually a good friend, unlike you.' Johnny says: 'I don't have friends, I do things alone. I'm gonna go find the slip alone.' Johnny walks away looking for the time slip on his own. While Johnny's walking alone in the forest. He encounters Kronos, who gathers them together. They sit on a log awkwardly together. Then Kronos tells them: 'I need you to understand the importance of this mission so through this portal, I'll be showing you exactly what you're dealing with. Be warned it's brutal.' While he's on the other side of the slip he shows them a flashback of a moment in time. There's a guy named Griffin Maxwell who has a daughter named Luna, and a wife named Genesis. They were struggling with money problems so Griffin had to get a new job. One day he showed up from his new job, and kissed his wife. His wife asks: 'so how was work?' Griffin says: 'I don't know you tell me.' Then he shows her his first pay check from the new job. She hugs him they kiss, then their daughter comes down stairs, and the mom hugs her, and Allan smiles. Days later on the 30th of September they go out to celebrate on a family road trip together. In the car a song comes up then Griffin says: 'this is our song.' He and his wife start singing until out of nowhere a drunk driver smashes into his car. Griffin's entire life flashes before his eyes, then his vision fades to black. After he wakes up he finds that he's still in the car. He steps out of his car, and finds his daughter in the road. He finds his wife outside the car as well. He goes over to them, and says: 'no breathe come on stay with me.' The man starts crying as he sees his wife and daughter are dead. The man behind the accident was dead too. He continues sobbing then he gets caught in an unfortunate time loop causing him to continually live out that same accident. After they finish seeing all of this Allan says: 'oh no.' Kronos says: 'yeah it's a real tear jerker ain't it? Listen I know you think, I'm just crazy for doing all of this, but this will be equally beneficial to all of us in the long run. But I need you guys working together alright?' He leaves some tents, and other stuff behind for them then he says: 'those are for you guys. You can't say I never helped you guys.' Johnny grabs his stuff, and quietly sets up camp. Allan walks over to Johnny, then Allan says: 'I'm sorry man.' Johnny says: 'what?' Allan: 'yeah I just wanted to apologize for what I said earlier. It was totally out of line.' Johnny says: 'ok.' Allan says: 'I'll take that as forgiveness.' Allan stands there awkwardly then he says: 'ok cool so I'll be, you know not here.' Then he leaves to his tent. Johnny felt shocked he couldn't understand why Allan would apologize when he was being mean to Allan on purpose. That stayed with him in his mind, and it was confusing him greatly. Lewis enters Allan's tent. Lewis asks: 'what was that?' Allan: 'what was what? You mean that thing we saw. I gotta admit that messed me up real bad. I can't imagine what that's like.' Lewis: 'no the thing with Johnny.' Allan: 'oh that's what you meant.' Lewis: 'yeah I think it was pretty obvious.' Allan: 'yeah I know I'm just messing with you. You should've seen your face though or maybe not it's kinda gross looking.' Allan and Lewis start laughing. Then Allan tells Lewis: 'look Kronos told me.' Lewis: 'not sure if you should be getting advice from him.' Allan: 'no just listen. He told us in general that we needed to be united for this mission, and that's just what I want to do.' Lewis: 'I guess that makes sense, but it took guts man.' Allan: 'why do you think that?' Lewis: 'cause you apologized to someone who was being mean to you.' Allan: 'yeah, but if I decided to not talk to him everytime he treated me badly, we wouldn't be friends.' Lewis: 'makes me wonder how you guys became friends at all.' Allan: 'yeah, but you'll see after this we'll be talking again like we always have.' Lewis: 'I've only known you guys for a couple of years, but I still don't get your dynamic.' Allan: 'well we're retards, we care for one another even if one doesn't want to show it, and we're loyal.' Lewis: 'that's nice I guess.' Later Lewis makes his way towards Johnny's tent, and he apologizes as well. Johnny looks at him, then goes back to sleep. They all eventually go to sleep after the long day.
