Chapter 34: Chapter 34: Does the garden of the heaven looks like this?!!
Xialin continued to walk down the path the firefly spirit flew. As she continued further on following the firefly spirit, she found herself in a place which seems so magical. It was unlike any other part of the Fog Forest that she had encountered.
The flowers at that part of the forest were glowing emitting lights of various kinds in that dark. The place makes Xialin feels like she was in another dimension in another space. There were varieties of flowers emitting various kinds of lights from all sides.
The green coloured flowers were emitting greenish lights, the blue coloured flowers were emitting bluish light similarly, the white flowers were emitting white light. In that magical place, there was also a faint tinkling sound of the various species living in that place. Xialin was left awestruck by the beautiful place. As the place was beautifully lit up by the natural lights from all sides, Xialin's eyes came back to normal and the bluish glow in her eyes started to disappear. Thrilled by its beauty, Xialin paced on faster admiring the place.
The place seems like heaven's garden. There were also a variety of fruits growing in the trees of that place. As Xialin continued to walk on mesmerised by the enchanting place. Hundreds of blue colour fireflies came towards her and surrounds her. Xialin captivated by the beautiful fireflies she smiled as she was being lit up by the fireflies. There was a peaceful yet thrilling feeling being at that place. She felt like she was at the top of the world. After her long and tiring journey, Xialin was able to find a little bit of peace in that magical place.
Xialin wanting to stay and enjoy the moment at that beautiful place, she turned to the firefly spirit and spoke, "Let's get some rest here! I don't feel like leaving now!"
The firefly spirit flew up and down and then sideways showing agreement.
As the fireflies spirit agrees, Xialin smiled and climbed up the nearest cherry tree and sit down there at one of its branches. She plucked the cherry which was on the side and eat it. The taste of the red and ripen cherry was heavenly! Xialin plucked another cherry and ate it again. She eats it one after another till her stomach was full. As she was sitting on the branches of the tree. The chilled yet calm breeze was blowing over her face. Even the breeze feels so peaceful. Xialin realizing that her journey could be long, she plucked another handful of the cherries and came on the ground.
She then put all the cherries inside a big leaf and kept it on her side pocket for her later journey.
She then walked around the area admiring the beautiful flowers. There was a sudden gust of sweet smell of the flower blowing over her face. It then fades away slowly. 'Does the garden of the heaven looks like this?!!' Xialin thought to herself. It made her forget all the pain and grief for a little while.
She then went to the blue flowers that were emitting bluish lights and admired it for a moment. As she was sitting near the flower admiring its beauty. A blue colour butterfly came by and was sitting on the flowers, complementing the beautiful scene 'If the famous painter in Shanjin could draw this beautiful moment. It would be amazing she thought to herself'
Xialin then remembers that her brother Xulan cannot wait any longer that his death was ticking. Hence, no matter how long Xialin wants to stay in that beautiful place she quickly made up her mind to continue the journey. The firefly spirit upon knowing her intent, it flew before her leading the way.
Xialin walked passed the beautiful trees full of yellow and white flowers on it. She then encountered beautiful blue colour flowers stretching up all over the path in its vines. Leaving all the beautiful sceneries behind Xialin continued to walk on.
As she walked further on leaving the beautiful garden behind, all the natural glow in the dark were fading away slowly little by little till it was all gone. The place became darker and darker and Xialin's eyes began to glow up again in the dark woods.
Xialin continued to walk down the path the firefly spirit went. The place became foggy and the woods became darker with its big branches spreading all over the place. As Xialin walked down the path she was knocked down by one of the tree's roots. She brushes her clothes and stood up again and continued further on tossing the branches of the trees.
The forest in that part became spookier and spookier. A rotten, stinky smell was flowing all around in the air. There was an eerie yet uneasy chilled in the air. The aura of the place was becoming heavy, it made Xialin feel like she was in a horrendous place. Even though Xialin didn't like the air in that place she continued the journey with brave courage to save her brother.
As she continued trusting the firefly spirit, she saw rows of a rotten corpse lying on the ground. The smell of the corpse was disgusting. There were a swarm of flies and insects eating the dead body. The suffocating smell and the scene of the dead bodies made Xialin feels like throwing up. Xialin stunned by the horrifying scene, started getting goosebumps over her whole body.
She walked passed the dead bodies feeling scared and uneasy. The numbers of the corpse were increasing as she went further. Xialin not wanting to stay there anymore holds her breath and ran as fast as she could, far away from there leaving the firefly spirit behind.
As she nervously ran away from there, an unknown voice in the air called her from behind, "Xifeng!! You are still alive??!!"
Another voice called her, "Xialin?!! Xialin??!!"
Xialin stopped running at hearing her name and turned around to see who it was. Unable to see the face she spoke, "Who is calling me?!! Who??!! Show me your face!!"
Just as she spoke those words the voices called her again, "Meimei! I was looking for you!! Why are you here?!!"
Xialin looked around in search of the one who is calling her name. She was sweating all over her face, thinking, "Who could it be?!! Calling my name in the middle of the Fog Forest!"
As she turned around she saw the faint figure of her eldest brother, Xulan standing at a distance. He was smiling at her from afar as he was looking at her. He then spoke from there, "Meimei! What are you doing there??!! Come over here!"
Xialin feeling shocked and happy at seeing her brother, she went towards the figure not even looking back at the firefly spirit. The firefly spirit flew around Xialin, trying to stop her from going there. Xialin didn't even bother to look at the firefly spirit, she ignored it and headed towards Xulan. She was blinded by the figure that she forgot Zhang Wei's words and rushed towards it.
