Chapter 3: Let Me Leave ~ Reyna

I woke up at the crack of dawn. Sneaking my way down to the kitchen, I grabbed some snacks to have with me, then carefully made my way to the gates. I noticed Stradivarius hadn't woken up yet despite being on guard duty. At least he won't bother me. I ran quite a part of the way, making sure nobody was following me. I sighed and slowed down to a walking pace, the sun rising behind me. For a moment, I walked in complete silence in the morning glow, save for the few birds who were awake. I started mentally planning out my journey when-

"Reyna! Reyna, wait!" A voice shouted.

I turned around to see my friend, Sirius, running toward me.

He stopped rather abruptly beside me. "Where are you going?" He asked.

"That's none of your concern." I replied.

"Come on, tell me, Reyna. You can't just disappear without a reason."

"Trust me, it's better if you don't know. I don't think Stradivarius would like it if he found out you knew, but didn't tell him about it." I explained.

"Yes, but that only makes sense if you're doing something that you shouldn't be.....are you?"

I sighed in defeat. This was Sirius. I could trust him, couldn't I?

"Fine. I'll tell you. " I started. "I'm going to Worthwood."

"Alone? Why?"

"That's not important, but you can't tell anyone. Especially not Stradivarius or my father, okay?"

He nodded, and I turned my back and walked away.

"Stay safe!" Sirius shouted after me.

"I'll try my best!" I shouted back.

Oh well. I could try, but I won't be still until I have found the Trio. Definitely won't be safe either, not on this trip.

_____________

The sun was setting, and my body was exhausted. I stumbled into the only open guesthouse in Greyacre, and got me a room for the night.

"Might I ask what a girl like yourself is doing, travelling alone?" The old man in the lobby asked.

" I- I'm looking for the H-holy Trio." I said, yawning.

"Ohhh. That's no easy task to achieve on your own. Might I suggest you to look at Thatchstone, the Fairy might be there. But then again, none of them have been seen for hundreds of years." The man told me.

"Oh, I plan to go there, it's on my way to Worthwood anyways."

"Worthwood. The last place they were seen, no?" He asked.

"Yes. I thought i might get some clues about where they are from there...." I started dozing off.

"Well don't let me keep you up you need to rest for your journey, here's your key." He handed me a keychain, reading the room number to me. I nodded and dragged my body up the staircase, found my room, and collapsed on the bed.

____________

The morning after, I woke up way later than I'd hoped. I hurried to put my shirt on, somehow I'd taken it off in my sleep. I picked my backpack up from the floor, found the key and went to the staircase. Halfway down the stairs, I heard a voice I'd rather not have heard so soon again.

"This is the only town that's a days trip from Euthoria, the girl went missing yesterday, now tell us where she is."

I peered through a crack in the door. What I saw shocked me. Stradivarius was in the lobby, holding his spear to the old man's chest, threatening to use force to get the information out of him. Sirius was behind him, giving the man an apologetic look.

"As a guesthouse owner, I cannot tell you anything about my customers, as it would be a violation of their privacy. " the man said. I got the feeling he knew I was listening in on them, but still he

"Very well. Then you are no use to us." Stradivarius raised his spear, and readied himself to impale the old man.

"Stradivarius, wait!" Sirius shouted.

"What is it boy?" Stradivarius said, venom lacing his words.

"The man has done nothing wrong. He's simply following the law of customer privacy privileges. Therefore, we cannot kill him, but we are allowed to make him keep intel for us. " He argued.

"Is that so? Well then old man, you are lucky my softhearted student was here to save you. You will tell us if you see her, or I will kill you. Is that clear?"

"Yes sir. I understand that. " the old man replied.

They left soon afterwards, and that's when I came out of my hiding spot.

"Ah there you are. I'm afraid you have to leave this place, before I'm forced to tell that man of your movements." He said, flashing me a light and caring smile.

I gave him a smile in return and handed him the room key.

"I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused. I hope you have a nice day sir." I said. I left the guesthouse, looking around me. I brought out my map, locating the path that leads to the underground tunnels.
