Chapter 6: Cheers to a new start
The life of newly weds is most certainly one of the most happiest parts of your life. Watching you partner fall asleep, making breakfast for each other, acting all cute, its just too adorable.
22 October 2018.
Min Jun fell asleep on the couch, while watching in the living room. Mi Soo came back from work a bit late and when she saw Min Jun sleeping on the couch she adored him. She knelt down next to him, gently patted his hair and when she was tucking him under the blanket, Min Jun grabbed her hand in his sleep tightly. Mi Soo tried to free her hand but he wasn't allowing to do so, maybe he was dreaming? He lightly kissed her hand in his sleep, shoved her hand in his chest and murmured, "I Love you, Soo Ah." The smile on her face vanished in thin air, as she forcefully freed her hand from Min Jun and headed to bed.
The next morning, the couple visited Mi Soo's grandfather's grave. They kept flowers on his grave and stood their silent for a while. While standing their Min Jun questioned, "Ms. Park, I was curious..".
"I won't respond if you call me Ms. Park. " she interrupted.
"Sorry, I forgot, I mean Honey. I was wondering about your parents, I mean their are no pictures and even Ms. Yoo asked me to not talk about them I mean if you are fine about it." He continued."
"It's nothing like that it's just that I don't like talking about people have no worth in my life." She hesitated.
"What do you mean no worth? They were your parents, even if they are dead they raised you and gave birth to you."He reluctantly said.
"My mother is still alive, but still she has no worth because the only thing she did was give birth to than, she handed me over to my dad and left us when I was three years for some other man. and my dad? He handed me over to my grandfather, because a man who wasn't even capable to look after himself could never raise a child. To be honest, I rarely saw him, he would headed out to work early and came home drunk hours after I fell asleep. All he would do was smoke and drink for years. I actually even wonder if he remembered he even had a child? Because if he did than he wouldn't have committed suicide." She explained.
"Suicide?!" He exclaimed.
"Smoking and drinking more to speed up the process of death, knowing you are suffering from lung cancer is considered as suicide, isn't it? *she paused* well forget it. how about shopping? Sounds good?" She ended the conversation.

Mi Soo was going through some documents in her office, when her grandfather's old friend, politician Ji Chul Min called her, and invited her over for tea.
During the tea, they were having a cheerful conversation as he congratulated her for her wedding but, the atmosphere changed when Mr. Ji Chul Min suggested,
"Mi Soo, now that you are settled down and and even your business has flourished so don't you think now might be right to time for you to take over your grandfather's position as a politician?"
"Grand Uncle. I already told you I am not interested." She rejected.
"My lovely Mi Soo, you know I would never force you but I feel bad for your grandfather. He wished for his son to continue his legacy but since he couldn't, don't you think it's your responsibility? And what's wrong with being a candidate, and if it doesn't work i'll pull you name out, but trust me the people will love the grand daughter of Park Jong Goo, the helper of the weak. They have no reason to dislike, and especially the younger generation, they love an icon like who who is an successful inspiration. Being politician is in your blood, you know why because it gives you authority, power, superiority and connections, which I know is what both you and your grandfather always desired." He defended his opinion.
"Even though, give me a while, I will consider you offer Grand Uncle. But for now I'll take your leave.",she stood up and left after bowing down to him.
