Chapter 3: Chapter 3
As I woke up I felt an intense hunger. It felt like I didn't eat in days.
"You can't just snap her neck, Dylan!"
"It's least painful when you least expect it!"
"Shut up, she's waking up."
"How are you feeling?" Daniel asked me softly.
"Hungry." I said my voice hoarse from just waking up.
"That's just your cravings, it just means you need blood." Dylan said.
"What happens if I don't drink blood?" I ask.
"You die."
"How long can I go without blood?"
"Right now we don't have much time since your still transitioning but after you transition can go up to 48 hours without feeding. While transitioning you need to drink from the vein but after that we can use blood bags."
"Wait so I have to bite someone?!"
"Yes" he said in a 'duh' tone.
"How?"
" it's an easy process first you compel someone and then you drink from them then you erase their memory it's actually really simple."
I didn't know what to say so I just said "uh, ok"
"We don't have much time we need to go now."
"Ok but where are we going?"
" town to choose someone for you to drink from."

Dylan took us to a crowded Chinese restaurant called J bowl.
" you need to go to someone who is alone. Sit in front of them and make small talk. Then compel them to meet you outside at the back of the restaurant and not tell anyone."
"Ok." I walk towards a guy with caramel blond hair and forest green eyes. He looks to be about 15 or 16.
"Hey, can I sit here?" I asked him.
"Hey, uhm sure."
"So what's your name?"
"Alex what about you?"
"Sophie, so what are you doing here alone?"
"My date ditched me. What about you?"
" I don't exactly have many friends to hang out with."
"Well, now you have one."
"Thanks you where do you study?"
And that's how we spent the next 20 minutes, just talking. I found out that he's and only child but his parents don't really pay much attention to him and he barely talks to them since they are always on work trips. I also found out that he studies at my high school and is a soccer player.
He's actually a really good friend and the more I talk to him the guiltier I feel.
"I'm really sorry for this but, meet me outside behind the restaurant and don't tell anyone." I said in a low voice and then stand up.
"Where's Dylan and Andrew?" I ask Daniel when I reach the entrance.
"They had to go take care of some stuff but don't worry I'll teach you how to feed I've seen them do it a million times." He assures me.
"Are you sure?" I ask slowly.
" Yesss have more trust in me"
"Ok I told him to meet me outside let's go." I say hesitantly.
It's not that I don't trust him it's just that I don't want to hurt Alex and Daniel isn't a vampire so he never fed from anyone before.
We went outside and waited for Alex to come.
"Alright you need to bite him somewhere near his vein I think the neck is best you can find the most blood there. But first you need to compel him to not make any noise. Oh and don't drink to much or you're gonna kill him." He said calmly as if we are talking about the weather.
"Wow, that's so encouraging." I say sarcastically.
" I know. He's here go do it fast before anyone catches us."
I walked to Alex slowly trying to delay the feeding as much as possible but i still got there fast since it was a small space.
"Don't make any noise, this won't hurt at all. I'm so sorry I hope you can forgive me." I say softly to Alex then bite him
As I am biting down on Alex all I can think about is how good the blood tastes. I know somewhere at the back of my head that I need to stop or he could die but it's like hunger took control of my body. I just couldn't stop.
"Sophie, stop!" I head Daniel shout. Then suddenly I am being pushed away from Alex.
"Why did you push me away I need more!" I all but yell at Daniel.
"You almost killed him, he lost too much blood, you need to give him your blood for him to heal now or he's gonna die."
It's then that I notice Alex's pale body on the ground. His eyes are barely open and look like they might close at any time now.
"But won't that turn him into a vampire?"
"We don't have a choice. He's gonna die if we don't give him your blood."
"Ok let's do it how do I give him my blood?"
" bite down on your arm and then feed him your blood."
I did as he said and watched as his pale skin slowly turned back to its normal color.
"Sophie look it's ok, this is normal and he's ok now he's not dead." Daniel said.
"He's not dead but he could've died and now I've ruined his life he never going to have a normal life because of me! I ruined his life and almost killed him! I'm a monster!" I shout.
And then I did the only thing I could think of doing, I ran.

I ran as fast as I could until I reached an abandoned alley. Then I couldn't hold it in anymore and I just broke down. I cried because I'm never gonna be normal. I cried because I almost killed someone. And I cried because I'm a monster.
I cried until I ran out of tears then I just stayed staring at nothing when I suddenly heard a crunching sound. I looked up and saw a boy about my age with black hair with red tips and ocean blue eyes.
"Why are you crying?" He asked me softly.
"No reason, just leave me alone." I said looking away from him.
"Was it your first time feeding?"
"W-what do you m-mean?" I ask stammering slightly. How did he find out? Was he stalking me? Oh my god he's gonna kill me! I have to run and get a fake passport and-
"Woah calm down, you reek of blood and magic that's how I know you're a vampire and I thought it was your first time feeding because that's exactly how I reacted except I accidentally blew my car up too."
"What do you mean?"
" I'm like you. You lost control didn't you? That's completely normal for your first time feeding."
"How is it normal to almost kill someone?! Now he's a vampire and can never have a normal life and now I'm just telling a complete stranger about all this!"
"Normals overrated, thanks to you his life probably got more interesting. And sometimes it's better to get an outsiders point of view. And don't worry I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot of each other."
"How are you so calm about all this?"
"Eh I've seen and done worse and trust me when I tell you feeling guilty won't fix anything right now the best thing you can do is prevent this from happening again and you can only do this after getting control of your emotions."
"Who are you and what are you doing here anyways?"
" I'm Caleb I'm a vampire/angel hybrid and I needed a break from boarding school."
"I'm Sophie and do you go to moonlight academy?"
"Nahh. I gotta go but don't worry we will see each other again." He said while checking his watch and then he ran away.
"Wait... thank you." I said to his retreating figure
