Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Two People, Same Reaction

"Luka, take a breath!" William tried to calm his friend's anxiety while also suppressing his laughter. Luka remained silent for a good five minutes, attempting to process William's words.

"I'm what?" he asked slowly. William rolled his eyes. It was the fifteenth time Luka had asked the same question, wearing the same distant expression and lost eyes. But deep down, beneath all the confusion and fear, William knew Luka was happy.

"P-R-E-G-N-A-N-T," William spelled out patiently. If only he had one of those human voice recorders, it would make things easier. "Pregnant. Please, Luka, stop asking the same question every damn second." He found his friend's reaction more amusing than annoying.

"Uh... okay," Luka responded absentmindedly. "Just one more time... for reassurance, you know?" he added quietly, and William rolled his eyes once again.

"If you ask me the same question one more time, I will personally strangle you!" William declared, though Luka simply nodded. "You're pregnant, Luka. You didn't use protection, and neither you nor your clueless soulmate remembered that regardless of the gender of a destined couple, if you don't use protection, you can get pregnant. You know... since a soulmate's sperm can—"

"Okay! That's enough!" Luka interrupted, his cheeks turning crimson. Discussing sex was not something he was comfortable with. "Oh... wait... I'm what?"

William facepalmed as Luka asked the same question he had been asking for the past five minutes. "Okay, I can't deal with you right now. There's nothing more I can do. I'm going to seek out Lucifer."

Luka merely nodded, but William didn't need to search the vast mansion for Xavier. Sensing Luka's fear and nervousness, along with his underlying happiness, Xavier couldn't help but worry. Being William's partner, Jonathan kindly requested Xavier to accompany him back to his lovesick soulmate.

"Luka!" The door burst open, and a worried Xavier rushed in. Spotting Luka's lost expression, everything became a blur as Xavier hurried to his soulmate's side, checking him for any injuries or potential harm.

"What happened to him?" Xavier spun around angrily and confronted William when Luka didn't respond, his gaze fixed on a distant picture of his younger self on the wall. "Where the hell are Asmodeus and his soulmate when I need them?" Xavier glared at the door but quickly redirected his attention to Luka when he felt his soulmate lightly tugging at his sleeve.

"Baby..." Xavier whispered, embracing Luka's small frame to soothe his nerves, as a soulmate's touch could bring solace to the other. "You can tell me everything. It's okay. Don't worry."

Luka finally turned to Xavier, realization dawning on him. He was pregnant... with Xavier's child. After spending thousands of years as a human, it was understandable that he had forgotten this minor detail about how soulmate bonds worked.

However, Xavier's reaction of "How the hell did you forget to use a condom!?" was still one of confusion. "We have an impossible mission ahead of us! A potential war! And now... Oh, Xavier! I don't know what to do..."

"Tell me what happened, Luka," Xavier whispered, feeling Luka clinging to him desperately. "It's okay, baby... Nothing will harm you. I promise, remember?"

Luka looked up at Xavier. His petite frame stood oly a little higher than Xavier's stomach. The height difference always managed to amuse the devil, but he loved it nonetheless. "I don't know how to say it!" Luka whined, tightening his grip around Xavier's waist. "I've fallen out of love with you!"

It took a moment for Xavier to process what his soulmate was saying. "What?" he whispered, feeling the tears welling up. "What do you mean, Luka?"

"I'm sorry, Xavier." Luka struggled to contain his laughter.

"You can't just say that!" Xavier exclaimed, crashing their lips together and kissing him passionately until Luka stopped blocking the bond, and Xavier felt Luka's amusement and love. "Wait... that was a prank..." The devil didn't know whether he should feel relieved or not. "It was William who taught you this, wasn't it?"

This sent Luka into a fit of giggles. "Oh my, Xavier! You should have seen your face! It was priceless!" He paused for a moment and then smiled softly at the devil as if nothing had happened. "You must know that I will love you forever, and I could never hate you, even if I wanted to. And the truth is, I will never want that."

Xavier smiled back and gently kissed his soulmate's lips. "I know that, but... just don't do it again!" Luka laughed but nodded in agreement. "But Luka... don't you want to tell me what was on your mind when you blocked your thoughts and became distant for more than... what, thirty minutes?"

Luka let out a sigh. "Just don't act the way I did because... you know... now that I think about it, it's incredibly annoying!" Xavier allowed himself to release a deep chuckle and encouraged his soulmate to continue. "I'll say it quickly! Okay! I'll say it!"

"Luka, just say it!" Xavier chuckled once again, planting a kiss on the crown of Luka's head. "It's okay, baby."

"I'm pregnant," Luka blurted out quickly but slow enough for Xavier to comprehend.

"You're what?" Xavier looked at him wide-eyed, but unlike the fear Luka had sensed in their bond thirty minutes ago, now he felt overwhelming happiness.

"I'm pregnant, Xavier. Our horny asses forgot about the rules of soulmate bonds! The male who's receiving in a soulmate bond can get pregnant just like the female ones!"

"Okay, just..." Xavier stared at Luka. "You're what?"

"Oh no! Not you too!"
