Chapter 2: Blood bath

I went to check what happened with that crash. It was a duo of troublemakers, wrecking a red ford. I wanted to go and stop them but something inside me held me back. A feeling like if they got to know who I was they would take advantage of the situation.

My life flashed before me as streams of memories in my brain yet again: I was only called out during parties and festivities that are held at our place with a beautiful dress and a fake smile. Only a couple of rich families knew who I was, no more. They couldn't disclose how I looked like and just like that I was hidden away from the public,as my parents were scared if somehow one of the citizens claimed me as their biological daughter instead. So my identity was safe. I didn't care if they knew me or not now. The courage had been refilled in my soul. Just then, it happened again. Those absurd thoughts I get in the dark... A man who looked superhuman approached me and gave me a sword and a bronzed shield with a monster's face in front. "Thy time has come, Pallus." said the voice in a deep rumbling noise. " Your powers can no longer be in containment. The maturity period has begun.", he said as he faded into a daze. I woke up from my psychic kind of episode and saw the two of them stand in front of me.

"This girl is kinda flat and bland with that oversized hoodie and ripped jeans but she's cute though.", one of them smirked. They started walking towards me with malicious intent burning in their eyes. I didn't move an inch. I stood there like a statue the entire time with my chest and body straight up and ready to face them. Just as one of them tried touching me, I quickly twisted his hand and threw him on the other dude. They charged at me yet again. I took them by their collars and smashed them onto the ground. "She's crazy bro! Let's get out of here!", the other screamed. They ran away as far as their limping legs could take them. I caught my breath and realised I never went to any fighting classes. I never ever did anything related to fighting other that punching walls when I was angry. I was stunned. My hands felt a little numb. As I ran them down my legs to tie my laces, I felt a little bruise on my skin. Blood was gushing down my knees. I hopelessly headed back 'home' . As I reached the huge mansion. My vision was blurry and my face felt floppy. My body had become such a burden. My mother stood in front of me with a solemn but worried expression. She ran to me and hugged me and wiped a slash of blood I had on my face. "Darling, your dad and I thought about your condition in this place, I know you are not well suited in this elite family but you never gave up trying and for that we were really guilty. You're bleeding but you are still able to handle yourself which makes me want to do something in return if u promise me to take care of yourself.", she said empathetically. I was flabbergasted, I didn't know my mother cared that much about me. It just made me feel even more pathetic than I already was. "What is it?", I asked our of curiosity. "You can go to a public school from now on."
