Chapter 3: This Lady Rose is dumb than a pig!
"My lady, princess Alicia has requested your presence".
'This lady Rose is so f*cking famous!'. Hayami rubbed her temples and nodded, "Please". M10 twitched her lips and nodded. She unhurriedly led her lady to the west wing of the palace.
As expected, walking can also be tiring. Hayami didn't know how long she was walking, but every minute she walked, it seems to be taking days.
The maid, M10 stopped in front of an overly extravagant door and heaved out a sigh in relief. Hayami looked at the positioned soldiers and inwardly thought, 'What a huge gap of difference?'.
Even though this lady Rose lived in the luxurious palace, she didn't have guards stationed beside her room. She didn't even see a single maid (except M10) around her chamber.
Was she an illegitimate child? The thought brought a sense of satisfaction in her heart. People might look down on illegitimate children, but they also feared them.
Of course, why wouldn't they? Illegitimate children can easily ruin the fortunes of the family. She wasn't supporting them nor criticizing them. After all, it isn't the child's fault for being born in a different womb.
Blame the man and the woman who did the nasty things.
M10 waved her hand, signalling one of the guards to inform the arrival of her lady. The soldier, who had a knife cut on his face, knocked on the door and silently went back to his position.
Hayami silently eyed the two guards (they looked like soldiers). The soldier at the right was wearing a black armour. He had two red horns on his head, which looked strong and sharp. Even though he wasn't a real human, he looked like a human.
He didn't have sharp fangs, red bloating eyes, long nails and smelly odour as she had seen in most of the movies. Except the horns, he absolutely looked normal.
The soldier at the left was the same. Except the difference in colour of their armour. While the right soldier wore a black armour, the left wore a light brown armour.
She was slightly curious and confused. Why would soldiers wear different colours of armours? Are they some kind of discrimination?
After all, no creatures can co-exist with other creatures than their kinds. Imagine a deer and lion living in a cave. It would be a disaster.
When she closely inspected the two soldiers (or guards), she found an interesting thing in between them.
The right soldier had an eagle tattoo on his neck, while the left had a snake tattoo.
Her eyes brightened with unrestrained curiosity. Eagle and snake. What do the tattoos denote? If an eagle and snake fought with each other, who would win?
Probably a tie.
Eagle can fly (which is an advantage) but snakes can spit venom and also break the eagle's body with it's strong thread like body.
If she was given a chance to stick a tattoo on her body, she would probably choose a dragon. Because they're so cool! (Don't judge).
The two guards could feel someone staring at them with unrestrained curiosity and awe. Glancing behind the maid, they saw a small girl, around the age of 10, looking at them with a breathtaking smile.
Her pearly teeth and shining eyes made her look so adorable. While her messy bun hairstyle added extra cuteness to her adoring face. At the centre of her brows, there was a small red mole, giving her a adorable and spirited feeling.
The guards immediately averted their gaze and lowered their heads. 'She's so cute!', they inwardly screamed in their heart. As expected, the king's daughters were so beautiful than any being in the kingdom.
After who knows how long, the extravagant door was opened by an old lady. Hiyami eyed the old woman from top to bottom.
The grandma's eyes were sharp, emitting an arrogant and oppressive aura. Her skin wasn't white but tan. Her face was covered with wrinkles (indicating that she's too old).
Before M10 could speak, the grandmother smiled and said, "Princess Alicia is resting. Please come tomorrow". Stunned, M10 couldn't do anything but obediently nod her head. Hayami immediately frowned in dissatisfaction.
Even though she didn't know how long she stood here, they were probably standing for minutes (yea, minutes). How many? Who knows.
Dissatisfied, she turned around and walked toward her room. 'What the hell is this Lady Rose identity!?'. If she knew the exact identity of this lady Rose, then she'll make sure to use it well (if not too well).
Startled, M10 hurriedly bowed to the head maid and chased after her Lady. What was wrong with her lady? Usually, Lady Rose would respect the head maid and inquired about the health of Princess Alicia.
But, today her lady was being strange. Not only did she drink the strange tea, which she hated, she also ignored the head maid and princess Alicia.
Did something happen in the Evadne garden? Thinking of that, she slightly frowned.
The old lady looked at the retreating figures and silently closed the door. She walked to the girl, who was comfortably combing her wavy fiery hair and said in a low voice, "Princess, I've chased her".
The mirror vividly reflected the 14 year old girl's appearance. Her skin was slightly dry, causing her skin to look somewhat rough. Her pair of green eyes were filled with unrestrained envy. Her thin pink lips bent into a dissatisfied frown.
Her beauty wasn't enchanting as Lady Rose, nor beautiful as 2nd princess Lily. Her beauty could be considered as average.
And she hated it.
Her younger sister robbed all her spotlight and the little b*tch became the beloved of others.
Because of her, she didn't even have the confidence to show her face to the world. How could she? When her younger sister was beautiful as a flower, while the adopted b*tch was enchanting as a Demoness.
"Princess?"
"Scram!". Alicia roared in anger. Her ugly distorted face caused the old woman to take a step back in fear.
Swallowing her saliva, the old woman meekly nodded, "Yes". She quickly went out of the room, not forgetting to silently close the door as she stepped out.
Alicia held her comb and looked at her reflection. Seeing her own ugly face, she cried, "Why? Wuu..why?".
She also wanted to be beautiful as her younger sister Lily, wanted to be praised by her mother, also loved by her father and finally cherished by others.
Why? Why can't her face be like her younger sister?

"I'm so tired", Hayami rolled on her comfy bed and let out an exhausted sigh. If she didn't find out this Lady Rose identity, then she's not sure whether she'll be able to control her thirst for revenge.
"My lady-"
"Oh shut up". Hayami didn't care whether she was being sensible or not. Now all she needed was rest.
Not an unknown maid, not an Oscar winning award prince and not an arrogant princess.
"My lady, the second princess is waiting for you at the Lilias garden. I request my lady to meet her as soon as possible." Despite the rude tone of her lady, M10 remained respectful and mild as always.
Though her respectful tone could coax angry masters, Hayami simply rolled her eyes. She sat on her bed and narrowed her eyes. 'What an annoying maid'.
She thought the maid would obey this lady Rose, but seems like the maid is not afraid of her master.
She crossed her legs and asked, "Can I ask you something?". M10 raised her head and looked at her lady, who was sitting on the bed and looking at her with an expressionless face.
Nodding her head, she said, "Yes."
"Who's your master?". Hayami looked at her maid and asked flatly. Her voice wasn't fast nor slow, just enough for the maid to absorb the question in her brain.
M10 pinched her palm and meekly lowered her head, "Lady Rose is my only master".
Hayami nodded and smiled, "Then go inform the 2nd princess that I'm tired. This lady doesn't need to waste her energy on insignificant people".
Saying so, she lifted up the covers and slid under the layers of sheets and blankets. 'How comfortable', she inwardly let out a satisfaction sigh.
Being rich is really a wonderful feeling. She needn't sleep on the ground during night, nor eat mold breads as food and nor work as a slave. Her second Life seems awesome, if not for the unknown prince and princess all around her.
M10 was shocked. What is this?! This is not the way her lady spoke! Her lady never rejected the 2nd princess's invitation. After all, her lady was kind and humble. But, but this girl was totally different.
"My lady, the 2nd princess had been preparing the tea party for months, please cons-"
"Quiet". Hayami suppressed her inner rage and said in a mild tone. If it weren't for this lady Rose's unknown identity, then she'll really kick the maid out of the room.
She sat up and coldly stared at the maid, who was standing in front of the bed. Frowning, she asked in an icy cold tone, "are you disobeying your master's order?".
M10 trembled due to the intense cold aura.
She opened her mouth but instantly closed it. Even though she wanted to continue, something in her warned her not to.
Looking at her lady, who was coldly staring at her, as if she was an annoying pest brought shiver down her spines.
Her lady, who had always been compliant and submissive no longer had the timid look on her face. There was an indescribable intensity that rose from the way she spoke.
She pinched her palm and shook her head, "this servant doesn't dare". Hayami indifferently stared at her so called maid. 'Doesn't dare? Then what was she doing before?'.
Slumping on the bed, she spat out, "Get out". If this maid kept on standing in front of her, then she'll surely kick her out of the window. 'This place is full of annoying people!'.
M10 bit her lower lip and obediently nodded. Just as she stepped out, she heard her lady's words, "don't forget to inform the 2nd princess about my absence on her wonderful tea party".
Silently closing the door, M10 said in a low voice, "Yes".
In spite of being kicked out of the room, M10 remained respectful and calm, but one could see the flash of anger in her eyes. She took a heavy breath and walked toward the direction of Evadne garden.
"Oh God, do you want me to praise you or curse you. Huh?", Hayami looked at the golden chandelier and asked the empty surroundings. Knowing that no one is gonna reply back, she sighed and closed her eyes to sleep.
She'll probably curse and then praise the creator.
When Hayami woke up from her sleep, the sky had already turned into the darkest black colour. As always, her annoying maid came in with her dinner.
Hayami was now determined to know the identity of this lady Rose. Whether this lady Rose was an illegitimate child? Abandoned princess? A foreign prisoner? Or a body saved for sacrifices?
Well, most of the magical novels she read explained about the protagonist being kept for sacrifices or something like that. Even if this lady Rose was being kept for sacrifice, won't it be so cool to know that she possessed some kind of precious or rare attribute in her body (probably not).
Since she slept the whole afternoon, Hayami wasn't sleepy as expected. After chasing her annoying maid out, she decided to investigate her room.
What if she got a kind of hidden weapon that can kill the strongest person alive, or an ancient book that can make her as an op protagonist (that's what most of the protagonists find in their new world).
After rampaging the huge wardrobe, she didn't find a weapon nor the ancient book. Sparkling gowns, expensive ornaments, matching colour heels, an old worn out bunny, cosmetics, boxes of candies, a diary, an interesting type of carved golden coins, and a silver key?
Hayami tilted her head and examined the Key in her hand. If seen from afar, the key looked normal as others, but if one carefully examined it, then they could find the intrigue pattern of designs on the key.
From its top to its bottom, the key was design meticulously. There were no signs of rust nor dust on it. Even the tiny flower, on the tip of the key could be vividly seen.
Arranging the things in the wardrobe, she picked the diary and jumped on her bed.

Sister Lily asked me to visit her. I was so happy and excited when I got the news. She gave me sweets and candies, it was so delicious. I couldn't get enough. Sister Lily is the only one who is being nice to me.
