Chapter 55: TRAIN DISCLOSE WHAT HE KNOWS

Train was so worried about Torren seeing him not eating. From the night of the dinner since Shawney left, Torren haven't eaten a complete meal.

Hearing dad telling Torren to try and eat something, when Jeff whispers quietly. "Dad, please leave him alone, when he is ready he will eat."

"I am going to look for Shawney." Train said.

"Dad please," feeling Torren hold his hand, "No one is going anywhere, Shawney is free to visit whenever she wishes, we didn't drive her out.

She left on her own free will and whenever she wishes to visit she is also free to do so."

Torren knows he cannot disclose how he feels for her.

Carl listens to everyone quietly, and what Torren just said, is almost the exact words Careen said.

Knowing dad is a bit concern and is also worried about her whereabouts.

When dad said, "But Son, she gets hurt in our home, she went to the hospital to get treated for the injury, who knows where she is now?

I thought after a week she might return, but she hasn't been to visit Robert, and Joseph hasn't even seen her in the clinic for the entire week.

And didn't you told us that Joseph calls and cancels your appointment, because he was going out of town?"

"That what he told me, Dad."

"Well, if I know Shawney she might have returned to her village."

"Dad, why would she do that, she hates her family for the way they treat her,"Torren responds.

"Yes, that might be true son, but her Aunt attends to her business, and the way she was angry with what she did to her; she must have returned home to disinherit the whole lot of them."

"Are you saying she has a business dad?" Jeff asks.

"Something like that, some of you think she is a gold digger, but she has a little money put aside."

"I don't quite understand what you are saying dad," Jeff queries wanting to know exactly what dad wasn't revealing to them?

"I suppose you won't, you thought if Shawney marries Torren you will be robbed of your luxury. It would be nice for you to see what her family lost out on Jeff?

Her life is not too different from our family, you see when, Shawney mother died, she leaves an inheritance for Shawney, just as Torren grandparents to him

"Wait, one-minute dad, you know she has an Inheritance?"

"Yes, I was fortunate to be there when her lawyer came to read her father's will.

You see son, Shawney stop school to take care of her brothers and sisters when her stepmother died.

She is not a selfish person, and in their struggles, she told her father to sell a few acres of her land from her inheritance to educate her brothers and sisters."

Looking at all their faces, they were all attentive. Hearing Careen saying "Please dad, I want to hear more."

"Well from what I learned, her father sold ten acres using half of the money to send the four of them to school and the other half he invested it for Shawney.

When Shawney got the four of them married, she left home for three years. The day I visited her village.

I met her on the road, stopping for her, hoping to get some direction for a place to rent for the night. I realized then she is not a person you can influence very easily."

"Why do you say that dad?" Lasandra asks."

"Oh, child it took a lot of convincing before she sits in my van, and when she did she was just so quiet and was anxious to see her Dad.

She had no idea her home was a guest house, she didn't care for the business, she cried for her stepmother flower garden, then to hear that her father funeral was the day before she reaches home.

Jeff, someone else would have been happy seeing the business, but she didn't care. When she cooks they eat not caring for her or if she had eaten or not.

No one never consider how she was feeling for the lost of her father. I felt hurt for her because none of her brothers or sisters welcome her home."

"Dad, that must have been very worrisome for her and heartbroken?" Careen said.

Only to hear Torren hit the table with his hand when they all look at him his face was wet.

When Train said, "The next morning, she leaves early and visited the lawyer, I still don't know-how, which I am still trying to figure out."

"I don't quite get what you are saying dad?" Careen queries.

"I don't either child, she was just in jogging clothes when she and the lawyer enters."

"Okay, I get that part but, could it be she gone and visit his office, or dad she could have told him verbally. Did he take out the will and read it in front of them?"

"As a matter of fact, he just opens his briefcase then said what the father has left for them.

You are right child, she must have waited for him and asked what her father had given and told him how to divide the shares, she trusts him and he knows her very well."

"Now that, that is settled go on dad." Careen urges, wanting to know so much more about Shawney.

"Child, when the others heard what their dad left they were angry, hearing the portion of shares her dad left to them, but they never suspected the father left nothing for them.

Shawney had to change the father will giving the Uncle family twenty-five percent of the shares.

Her brothers and sisters twelve and a half percent each, and only took twenty-five for herself.

She had distributed two acres to her brothers and sisters, given her uncle three acres for his family, and ask the lawyer to cut nine acres in three aches block to sell if she desires.

Also she instruct her lawyer to fences the remaining of her property."
