Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Du Ji meets the White Maiden of Rmei
"So sleepy!" Wei Di let out a huge yawn as grew bored in class.
"Shut your mouth before I throw you out of the class!" The teacher hushed Wei Di.
"It is the summer season and it was time to seek a spiritual beast for your journey to the border in three years!" the teacher remarks to the whole class.
Wei Di and Du Ji grew closer during the tournament and they both sat beside each other. Wei Di turned over to Du Ji and whispered to her ears"Hey! I have found a compatible spiritual beast for you"
Du Ji slightly blushed from the whisper. She quickly changed the mood and nonchalantly asked "what kind of a spiritual beast?"
Wei Di mentioned " Stronger than any spiritual beast you have seen before"
"Dong….Dong…" the sound of the drumbeat echoed throughout the school signaling the end of class.
"Let's go meet your spiritual beast!" Wei Di excitedly dragged Du Ji along to his house. Upon reaching his house, Du Ji followed him to along the beautiful gardens, and eventually, they reached onto Wei Do's room door.
Wei Di said "Inside the room lies your future spiritual beast. Go ahead and opened the door and introduced yourself."
Du Ji was hesitant and didn't believe Wei Di. Because spiritual beasts are normally in the wildland and the stronger ones are usually relatively huge in size.
She expected it to a weakling.
Nonetheless, Du Ji was still curious and opened the door. Inside lies a white maiden sitting on the chair sipping onto a tea.
Du Ji angrily immediately turned to Wei Di and said "This….isn't her the woman you were fooling around the previous time"
"Are you trying to trick me into coming to your room too..."
Wei Di pat her head and said "Meet the White Maiden, the Goddess of the Mount Rmei and the saviour of the eternal wall"
"I don't care..WAIT WHAT!" Du Ji exclaimed
The overwhelmed Du Ji muttered " White Maiden...You mean this woman here is the disaster level spiritual beast, The Great White Snake?"
There was no way Du Ji didn't know the legend of the great white snake. All poison practitioners revered the Great White Snake and many even hail her as a goddess of poison. Till date, there is a fearsome and influential sect (Bai She) in Rmei mountain cultivating the poison arts that White Maiden passed on. In comparison, while the Zhu clan might be the strongest poison sect in the Fengfan city, they could not even hold a single candle to the Bai She clan who has influence over the entire country.
"You must be lying...the great white snake is a legend that perished generations ago.." Du ji confusingly said
