Chapter 16: Flux Trait
George glanced over to the charred corpse of the youth. The clothes were perfectly intact but the skin and flesh of the youth were burned to crisp, he looked like an overcooked mummy.
'This is the power I got from fusing with the Sun Titan bloodline? The focused heat I just unleashed is too crazy, it came out so naturally...I have lost two skills but it looks like the trade-off was really more than worth it.' Thought George delighted after using his new powers for the first time. He thought that he would feel bad killing another human but he had killed so many strange creatures inside the trial that he was now totally numb to killing...
He was now the first hybrid between Humans and Sun Titans. The basic knowledge about the Sun Titan Race was deeply rooted inside his mind after the inheritance ritual.
Sun Titans are one of the oldest living beings produced by the universe and could be born from stars when they were in the transition to become white dwarfs. They would then very slowly mature while traveling through the universe and feeding on other stars.
Their bodies would grow hundreds of times bigger than the young sun in the galaxy where Earth is. Sun Titans and Star Eaters belong to the rare and proud Star Race. Sun Titans have solid and near indestructible bodies while Star Eaters are completely made of Sunfire. Their common trait is that they eat other stars.
George knew that he inherited a strong body, and the abilities to absorb the solar energy produced by suns. He was also able to unleash shockwaves. But what he didn't expect was that the shockwaves he generated would have such an extreme heat to them that it instantly killed his opponent.
He was still digesting the new knowledge in his mind, like what Flux actually is. Flux is from the human point of view nothing more than cosmic radiation. Solar energy was also a part of the cosmic radiation, 'My body is already absorbing solar energy on its own, it has completely fused with the Flux in me...My Astral Star is still absorbing the chaotic Flux around me but I can feel that it won't do me any good as it is diluted with other type of energies. This is actually a great thing, I can leave all the Flux to my dragons to absorb while I use the Solar Flux!'
George speculated that the people that passed the Gates were somehow changed to be able to absorb Flux and strengthen themselves...
'Hmm?' George lifted an eyebrow when he sensed the emotions coming from Hades.
Hades was looking at something amids the shattered pieces of the flashy silver sword. George looked over, squinting his eyes when he saw a small silver crystal lying on the ground between the shattered pieces. He sensed the thick Flux the crystal contained.
"You want it?" Asked George Hades who nodded its head while staring intensely at the silver crystal.
Chief Brown recovered from his shock, noticing the greedy gaze from the Inferno Dragon towards Jason's Gear Crystal.
"Don't even think about it! Element Skill, [Blue Fire Demon]" Shouted Chief Brown while erupting with his full Expert Tier Summoner might. Blue flames erupted from his body, making him look like a demon made of pure raging blue flames. His Expert Tier Summer Flux influenced the area as the air seemed to grow heavier...
George looked over to Chief Brown who was slowly walking towards him, the pressure he was emitting was strong, it affected him even with his improved body.
'He is the strongest from the group, the youth that I killed had also stronger Flux than I, he was an Elite Tier Summoner...I guess this man is then an Expert Tier Summoner...this situation isn't good...they could overwhelm me with their numbers...'
'I can tell from his weak Flux that he is only a Starter Tier Beast Summoner but he somehow killed Jason who was a Elite Tier Gear Summoner so quickly in such a strange way...The only possibility for that to happen is if his newly gained bloodline pushed his physik to a higher Tier!' Analized Chief Brown as he further fueled his raging blue flames with his Flux.
'I need to kill him and report this to the higher ups...Huh? Isn't that...' Chief Brown stopped his advance when he saw another dragon emerge beside George.
It roared arrogantly right after being summoned, Chief Brown stared silly at the new dragon that was stronger than the Inferno Dragon.
The youths behind him stared at the new dragon as if they had seen a ghost.
"An Elite Tier Plague Dragon!" Shouted one of the young girls at the back before directly turning around and running away as fast she could. The other youths paled further and did the same, all of them started to run away without hesitation.
Chief Brown who was in his [Blue Fire Demon] form felt like someone had thrown a bucket of cold water over him.
"Elite Tier...Plague Dragon? How did he get his hands on such a vile thing?" Gasped Chief Brown. He sensed that his students were running away and sobered up.
'A Starter Tier Plague Dragon is already bad news and an Elite Tier Plague Dragon can wipe out all life inside a whole city if it releases its toxic miasma! I'm stronger than it but I have no way to deal with its poison!' Thought Chief Brown quickly before also turning around to run away. His speed was astonishing, overtaking his students in a matter of seconds. He shot a last glance at George who was surrounded by two dragons, burning his appearance in his mind.
George was flabbergasted, how quickly the situation changed. He stared blankly at the fleeing group, not knowing what was going on. Even Hades who felt greatly threatened by the might of the Expert Tier Summoner looked confused.
Only Hybris who was summoned a few seconds ago roared even louder with a smug expression.
George rubbed his chin again, 'They fled the moment I summoned Hybris despite having the advantage...Hmm maybe they had no way to deal with his toxic attacks?'
He looked at the still roaring Hybris beside him. It had advanced to an Elite Tier dragon after a year of absorbing the Flux from his Astral Star, just as Uriel. Hades was lagging behind because it had to recover first in his Astral Space before starting to grow stronger.
Hybris was a bit shorter than Hades but just as long and its wings were 6 meters long if used. George grew annoyed by the roaring and slapped Hybris' side.
"Shut up!"
Hybris felt some pain coming from its side, violence erupted from its toxic green draconic eyes. It looked down at Geoge who dared to interrupt its moment of glory.
Hybris froze the moment it met George's gaze. There was no malice, killing intent or bloodthirst in his eyes but Hybris still sensed something ominous lingering in them. Its instincts screamed danger, it calmed down, even lowering its head. Hades did the same as it sensed the same thing.
"Good boys." Said George while patting the two dragons towering over him.
George himself noticed the change inside him and knew where it came from.
Another ripple appeared in the space from which Uriel emerged. She had changed too after becoming a Elite Tier dragon. Her body was still lean but her length had decreased to only 1 meter.
She jumped immediately towards George, wanting to lick his cheeks after not being able to come out from the Astral Space for so long.
But she was stopped by a brown hand that grabbed her throat, squeezing it hard.
George stared into her white eyes, "Reverse what you did to me..."
Uriel revealed rows of small sharp fangs when a grin spread across her face, completely ignoring the fact that she was being choked.
"My dear master, how can I reverse who you are?" Answered Uriel, shocking George...
